In preparation for the season 2 premiere of Snowpiercer here is a mini rant of something that has bugged me for weeks

In s01e02 "Prepare to Brace", the train is expecting rough conditions, basically train turbulence you could call it, caused by snow/avalanches etc. To the point where Melanie tells first class passengers and makes an announcement to the whole train about being prepared to brace. Seems like a thing that's been established during the past 7 years - people know that they might be jostled around today (vs other days when clear rails are expected.)

Now this is not exactly an order or a requirement. There's no seat belt sign making people remain seated or anything. Technically people could choose to do whatever the fuck they want regardless of the snow, it seems, and just deal with being thrown about it if happens. Fine.

BUT you would THINK that the STAFF/WORKERS on the train might decide (or be instructed from the higher-ups) to maybe, just maybe, NOT perform any delicate or difficult or dangerous tasks today. Like.... For instance... Butchering cattle. Seems like something that could wait until things are a little safer. I mean, the cows could've been butchered the next day or the next week, right? The cows weren't going anywhere, society isn't hinging on the cow meat being prepared today. Unless the cows were about to cross the line into "not edible" (which idk, is that even possible?) there was probably no reason to fuck around with the butchery tools and traipsing around the cattle car during rough conditions.

But they did and of course things ended badly. Okay, bad choices, bad circumstances, bad ending. Reasonable enough.

BUT THEN YOU'RE GONNA REALLY TELL ME THAT THERE'S ONLY ONE CATTLE CAR ON THE ENTIRE 1001 CAR TRAIN? WHO THE FUCK DESIGNED THIS SHIT??
