an old Gotham gifset of mine was getting notes so I was looking at it and thinking, “aww Bruce and Alfred were really sweet” because their dynamic was always the main draw of the show for me and then I remembered how literally every gifset of them I made I had to be like “don’t reblog if you ship them” and that still didn’t stop people. people would look at scenes of them hugging and be like “there’s nothing platonic about this amirite”. any sort of tenderness or affection between them was interpreted as sexual no matter how many times the characters explicitly referred to each other as family and said they saw each other as a father/son. just once I wish people could see a close familial relationship and be normal about it.
