Its been a long time since this car company left the market but still this car does not need any sort of introduction when talking of an suv, yea you got it right this is the ford endeavour so,this is going to be the full review of the ford endeavour coming straight away from its owner whose name is Pushkar Gandhi who is a doctor from profession and works in the reputed bankers hospital and has driven the car for more than 90000 kms.
What were the options you looked at when you went out to buy the car?
I saw Toyota fortuner,Mg Gloster,Tata safari and many more,I was very specific that I want a suv as I was searching for a good and sturdy 7 seater family car which is fun to drive and is spacious.
Why endeavour and not any other car as there were many other options else than endeavour?
I took test drive of all the cars before finalizing endeavour and I personally felt something or the other less in every car such as according to me fortuner lagged in features,mg gloster lagged in power and tata safari lagged in looks so,at last I decided to test drive the endeavour and when I test drove the endeavour I felt all my requirements were being fulfilled so I decided to go for endeavour.
How is its pickup?
Its pick up is good throughout its rev range you don’t feel any sort of lag in any part of its rev range you just press the throttle and it just lunges ahead.
How is it to handle?
It is difficult to handle it in cities as its a humongous car, its turning radius is also poor,steering is very heavy and on highways it is good to handle due to its stiff suspension
How is its ride quality?
 Its ride quality is kind of average in city as its suspension are on a stiffer side you have to be really careful on bumps and bad potholes and due to the same its ride quality on highways becomes awesome you feel stable in the car and despite it being a full sized suv there is close to no body roll.
What is the price you got this car for?
I got my endeavour for 36 lakhs and this is the 4x4 AT Sport(top spec variant Diesel at that time)and this was the on road price in Ahemdabad in 2016
  What is the mileage you are getting ?
I am getting a poor mileage of just 5-6kmpl in city and on highways I get a mileage of 7-8kmpl completely depending upon my driving style.
What are the things that you dislike about the car?
The things which I disliked about this car is its mileage its an absolute well it just drinks a lot of fuel and the other thing which I disliked about this car is its maintenance cost it is difficult to maintain this car as its service is on a higher side and its spare parts are also costly recently I got done with replacement of the coil springs of suspension and it costed me a bombarding amount as compared to other cars in this same segment.
How was the delivery and booking experience?
The delivery experience was nice they provided me with the car on the promised date and in the colour I asked for.The booking experience was also hassle free I got done with booking in just a matter of an hour or so.
What is the maintainance cost of this car?
It’s a bit on the higher side as compared to other cars in the same segment for eg its general checkup only costs me a bomb amount of rs 12,000 while for the same in the Toyota for the  fortuner it is just rs 4000-5000.
What were the things which you were impressed to see?
 I was impressed to see its infotainment system which has support for both android auto and car play ,with its music system it sounds amazing and last but not the least I was impressed with its looks it looks robust to me.
Would you recommend this car?
Yea definetly if someone is looking for a suv with good driving dynamics and looks then this is the car to go for.

Some of you might know that Mahindra recently introduced the Roxor to the United States. It's a small Jeep-like vehicle designed purely for offroad use, like an ATV, and is not allowed to be driven on public roads.
Fiat-Chrysler took an issue to this, but ultimately, Mahindra won the legal battle and is now manufacturing and selling the Roxor in the US market. Part of the rationale for this ruling was that Mahindra has been producing Jeeps for a long time!
Mahindra has been producing offroaders based off the CJ-3B since 1949. These models were dubbed the "Mahindra CJ", and eventually came in two variants: the four seat CJ 340 and the six seater CJ 540. The truck was initially produced with a Willy's F134 engine, displacing 2.2 liters and making 74 horsepower. and 114 lb ft of torque Since 1979, they came equipped with the Peugeot 2.1-liter XDP 4.90 diesel engine, making 64 horsepower. Later versions used the Peugeot XD3P engine, which I can't find power figures for but made 75 hp in the Peugeot 505. Throughout this time period, the transmission offered went from being the 3 speed BorgWarner T90 typically used in Willys and Jeep products, to the Kia KMT90 4 speed; both seemed to have been paired with the T18 four wheel drive transfer case. During this time, Mahindra also made the CJ500D for government fleets, utilizing a 2.3 liter International Harvester B275 diesel engine from its tractor range, making all of 38 hp and 86 lb ft of torque, propelling the off-roader to a meager top speed of 45 mph, while the more powerful Peugeot and Willys powered versions seem to top out at anywhere from 55 60 60 mph.
The MM540 was launched in 1986 and was mechanically identical to the CJ 540, but had two proper doors and a soft top This was a departure from the traditional open top models which had been offered before. The MM775 followed in 1992, and was revolutionary in the sense that it was now produced as a fully enclosed, long wheelbase metal body with the option of two or four doors. The "Mahindra Jeep", as the models were affectionately known as in India, was now looking like less of a Jeep and more like a modern SUV, even though it shared the same stone-age chassis and underpinnings as its predecessors.
The Mahindra Armada began production in 1993, and was essentially an improved MM775 with an updated design, featuring rectangular headlamps and a heavy plastic grille and bumper; and more creature comforts, including more comfortable seats, a regular dashboard, and gasp optional air conditioning! The top speed of the Armada with the 2.5 XD3P was around 75 mph. It came in only one body style: a 4 door SUV. This was the first 4 door SUV produced in India, and paved the way for other manufacturers in the blossoming market for sport utility vehicles in India, which could cope with the often-unpaved roads in the country with their four wheel drive and their high ground clearance . As a result, SUVs are now extremely prevalent on India's roads and have come to be the family shuttles of India's upper middle class.
The more spartan and utilitarian Mahindras continued to be produced under different names, from the spartan Major to the Wrangler like Thar to the cab chassis Maxx. The MM and CJ models eventually ceased production in 2010. They continue to have a cult following among India auto enthusiasts, with forums like Team BHP having an immense amount of discussion about the models, many users drawing from their personal experiences with the trucks.
Finally, we move on to the Mahindra Bolero, which has been in continuous production since 2000. It is an updated version of the Armada. After the previously socialist, protectionist Indian market opened itself up to foreign trade in the 1990's, the Indian market was bombarded by foreign automakers trying to grab a slice of the pie in this developing market. As a result, Mahindra faced stiff competition in the off-road and SUV markets from both other homegrown Indian options like the Tata Safari and Sumo and the Force Motors Trax, as well as foreign competitors like the Chevrolet Tavera, the Toyota Qualis, and the Mitsubishi Pajero. As a result, the Bolero was Mahindra's attempt to compete in this increasingly diverse and cut-throat marketplace with a more modern SUV geared more towards family motoring and on-highway driving rather than offroading. The updates included a more modern design, a five speed manual transmission, air conditioning, keyless entry, power steering, CD/MP3 capability, and a 12 volt port. The Bolero comes with an in-house developed, 2.5 liter inline four turbodiesel engine making 75 hp, or a newer 1.5 three cylinder "mHawk" turbodiesel engine with 71 horsepower, with an estimated top speed of 80 mph. The Bolero is extremely common on the streets of India no matter where you go. Although it is a people mover which India's middle class are drawn to because of its spacious and comfortable interior, it nonetheless retains its humble, venerable origins with its chassis still being an adaptation of the old Jeeps.

Interestingly, the relationship between Mahindra and Jeep extended beyond offroaders; Mahindra built the FJ Series of minibuses based off the Jeep Forward Control, as well as the FC pickup truck.
Today, Mahindra's model range has expanded far beyond their utilitarian offraoders, with everything from minivans to crossovers to Dacia-based subcompacts to electric city cars to even a German-style coupe SUV. Here's their current lineup
It's likely that the Jeep-based Balero and Thar will cease production soon, being replaced by two SUVs on a brand new platform. Renderings predict a Wrangler-resembling design. This will mark the end of a long line of Mahindra offroaders sharing the same tired and true Jeep platform, dating back all the way to the 1950's. It will be the end of an era in Indian automotive history, with these trusty little trucks serving generation after generation of Indian consumers; these off-raoders have seen India transform from a poor rural nation a decade removed from being the victim of colonialism, into a rapidly developing and urbanizing Asian power with a population of over a billion and a half

Tata Hexa Review

The Tata Hexa is a very important product for the Indian passenger car maker as it marks the resurrected era of Tata Motors after the blasphemous 2000's Indica era. Therefore it was imperative for Tata to put in all its engineering might into the car so that it meets all the needs of the ever-so-demanding Indian consumer. Thus the folks at MotorBeam decided to test the final product through their gruesome regime and see whether the car, or Tata for that matter can stand the true test of times.

The Tata Hexa promises to be a brash, brutal and intimidating beast of the road with heavily sculpted bonnet, smoked out projector headlamps, wide imposing grille and LED daytime running lights. The neat looking 19-inch alloy wheels enhance the butch looks of the car and fit the wheel well nicely. These are the biggest wheels available in this segment. The side profile has been cleverly reworked to cover the MPV proportions of the erstwhile Tata Aria.

The interiors of this Tata is unlike what you have ever seen before in a Tata car. The quality of materials and the fit and finish is the best the company has given to any of its car till now. The instrument cluster gets a big multi-information display. That said, it somehow doesn’t offer push button start/stop feature but there are automatic headlamps and rain sensing wipers.

The centre console comes with a neatly integrated ConnectNext infotainment system designed by Harman. It offers a 10-speaker JBL audio system including a sub-woofer and power amplifier. The sound quality is super rich and unrealistic for this segment. Other features of the infotainment include USB, AUX, Bluetooth connectivity along with voice recognition and navigation. The legroom and headroom is excellent even for tall passengers. There is ample amount of storage spaces in the car to keep the cabin neat and tidy. The seats are very flexible so you can fold down the third and second row of seats to enhance luggage space.

The Tata Hexa is powered by a 2.2-litre Varicor 400 diesel engine seen recently with the Safari Storme. But the Hexa’s engine has been tuned to produce the same amount of torque at lower RPMs, thereby offering better drivability. The engine makes 156 PS of power and 400 Nm of torque. There is a mild turbo lag under 2000 RPM but it picks up good pace in the mid-range, which is an ocean full of torque.

The Varicor 400 engine in the Tata Hexa can be mated with either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. The manual transmission is a truck-like notchy gearbox however, the clutch is light and the ratios are well stacked for both city and highway drivability. The manual version comes with Super Drive modes - Auto, Comfort, Dynamic and Rough Road.

The 6-speed automatic transmission, on the other hand, is a pleasant surprise from Tata Motors. The auto box offers smooth shifts and is clever enough to respond quickly to your throttle inputs. There are no jerks as well between the shifts, which was very pleasing while driving in the city. We expect the Tata Hexa to deliver a real world fuel efficiency of around 12 km/l.

Tata Motors is known to offer fantastic ride quality in its every car no matter the size. Same is the case with the Hexa as it just glides over bumps and potholes. The Hexa is a heavy car and it has some body roll when you push it around the curves. The steering is light and predictive. The Hexa is a capable off-roader too, comes with AWD torque on demand system that offers great traction in slippery conditions.

Tata Motors haven’t compromised on safety this time and the Hexa is loaded with safety equipment. It comes with six airbags including dual front, curtain and side airbags. Other safety features include Traction Control System, Electronic Stability Program, Hill Hold Control and Hill Descent Control. The Hexa’s long term durability and cost of ownership is yet to be seen and Tata Motors needs to ensure stress-free ownership.

There are no two ways about the fact that Tata Motors took its own sweet time bringing the Hexa crossover on Indian roads. For a long time, the Mahindra XUV500 was the undisputed king of the Rs 15 lakh 7-seater crossover segment. But now the car has been launched for the Indian public and it has the attractive looks and the amount of features Tata Motors promised in the new SUV which lured the audience at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo.
