The wolverine is a mech I've always been kinda meh on. I hear it's grand, but centurion has more weapons and less tonnage. Need to look into alpha strike and play with this fella to see what the deal is. The design is killer tho

So I beat the hero mode for Splatoon 3. I'm gonna talk about it now. All I'll say without spoilers is that it's just amazing. Spoilers below.

Ready for spoilers?

The use of the standard hero mode from 1 and 2 before blasting you into the true hero mode for 3 was great.

Being able to charge and use Splashdown in hero mode is great, especially since it's Hero Mode exclusive now. It made the combat parts feel a bit more fleshed out, as you can use it to instantly break those window shields some Octarians use. Or just use it on the Zapfish/End Marker and look cool finishing the level. Win-win.

DJ OCTAVIO AS THE FIRST BOSS. YES. YES. HE EVEN USES TWO SPECIALS. I LOVE THIS GAME ALREADY.

As someone who wasn't able to play Octo Expansion, seeing the style return was amazing, and the levels were really fun! I love this game so much.

I really like how you don't have to do every level. I only had to do two levels in world 6 because I had so many Power Eggs. Great design choice for people who like one type of level but not another type. Love it.

I love how the overworld will give you locker trinkets, cards, and better hub world music by finding them, and Smallfry being able to find them is a nice touch.

The idol boss fights are amazing. Frye's eel storm, Shiver's pet shark, and Big Man's Sunshine callback (got that from Scottfalco) are just great. Also the fact that they're looting the place just to give money to the poor people in Splatsville like a Robin Hood deal (minus targeting specifically the rich) adds to thier characters so much, have I told you I love this game?

Captain 3 using thier special meter to use the cutter thing you assemble is such a nice touch, and might even be a nod to Pearl using her special, the Killer Wail, in the octo expansion story. It's the little details.

The zipcaster levels are so freaking fun, I need more. I even thought the final boss might have been a zipcaster boss, as you have it right before but sadly no.

The final boss tho. Fighting a giant bear on a rocket in space. Amazing. We ain't in Inkopolis no more, this is Splatsville squiddos.

We ride on DJ Octavio's mech with a powered up Smallfry while the Squid Sisters, Deep Cut, and possibly Octavio, I can't tell, sing the Calamari Inkantation as we fight in space against a giant buisnessman bear who wants to commit mass Cephlacide. HOW DID NINTENDO THINK OF THIS?! IT WORKS SO WELL!
