Shadow was being so incredibly polite that Adriana feared his next move.

“Leon was the one who asked me out to the coffee shop. He said he wanted to check out this part of the city. So I agreed to go with him. But Dui, I promise it’s nothing like you think” she explained, eyes teary due to fear. Dui was violent when he was angry and his wrath was something that she didn’t want to see.

“Did your agreement include letting him touch you and flirt with you?”

“So now you’re supporting his behaviour…”

“Dui, no! Please believe me!” Adriana wailed. That made Shadow release her as he backed away and was replaced by Dui.
