Look at that, six out of seven days a week you had a messy bottom. Even toddlers are more potty trained than that.

If I had my way, I think we’d just put the potty chart away. You’re going in your pants all the time anyway, no point in recording how often a baby poops herself.

(Also poor baby must have had a bad tummy day Sunday, huh?)

It was surprising how little shame Jenny felt from hanging around the living room in just a diaper. She would play all day with a somewhat vacant look in her eyes. Swinging her Wii remote all over the place and rarely having much success in whatever game she was playing. Then, at some point, Daddy would have to check her diaper and make her stop playing. Because, of course, it was full nearly to the point of leaking.

“Jenny. Didn’t you think of going to the bathroom?” he would say.

And Jenny, mouth slightly open, wouldn’t say anything.

“Come on, let’s get you changed.” Daddy would eventually say.

To which Jenny would finally seem responsive. Every single time, she would stomp her feet and cry till she was red in the face from the absolute anger of being forced to not play for about five minutes. 

“NO, I WANNA PLAY!” she would scream while forcefully resisting any attempt from Daddy to drag her away. She would scream, scratch and cry. Very often, she would do so until she had an accident. As if her emotional release needed a physical one as well. Sometimes she would leak, sometimes not. But always, this accident seemed to calm her and allow Daddy to finally carry her away for a diaper change. Sometimes sobbing, sometimes already back to her vacant look.
