CBS Metaverse: Esper and Kaldheim Terrain/Fauna
Esper has a largely galactic aesthetic, along with a bit of a “the sky is an ocean” feel. The grass is azure in colour, contrasted with bright red sand and dirt. Corals, sponges, sea lilies, and other sessile animals of bright colours are also abundant - and they form various reefs along the landscape. They also glow at night. Most trees provide sap - including maple syrup, honey, and milk. Meat can also be produced by tree stems. Everything that comes from trees have a relatively long shelf life. A green gel-like slime is used to create beds for the natives. It has benefits of stabilizing body temperature (so that one never feels too hot or too cold), calming the mind (thus reducing nightmares), and it’s impossible to drown in. Excessive Marshite eggs are used and eaten as chicken eggs, and they even taste like chicken eggs.

Humans are the only “old-style organic” sapient species native to this realm. The other sapient species native to the realm have a rather smooth rubbery consistency, including the colourful humanoid species portrayed above.
Other sapient species come in the shapes of the following: jellyfish, starfish, sea cucumbers, sand dollars, sea urchins, crabs, lobster, spiders, octopi, squids, cuttlefish, and seahorses - the last of which can be used as steeds.
Clams, oysters, snails, and other “shellfish” (in non-sapient form) also exist. All have brightly colourful shells - and they can produce pearls, gemstones, and crystals. Crystals can be combined with gold-sap to produce brightly coloured metals. Crystals also make up their primary source of power. Flying saucers are their primary method of transportation. The flying saucers and the buildings are both largely made up of shiny colourful metals - and they are usually decorated with crystals, along with stained glass windows (created by melting crystals) with luminescent gel (another type of tree sap).
Instead of a moon at night, stars of various bright colours twinkle. During the daytime - the sky is a mixture of orange, green, and purple. Aurora borealis is also a common sight at night. The day length is about twelve hours and seven minutes (as on the Earth’s equator), and twilight on both ends lasts for a little less than seventy minutes.

Kaldheim is a mixture of Nordic, Christmas, and winter aesthetics. The buildings are Nordic in design, along with Viking-style ships. The buildings are decorated with stained glass windows containing luminescent gel, and also colourful lights strung along the exterior. Striped barber poles are also present, with variations of colours - and they also light up at night.
Lights actually grow on evergreen trees, where they shine for about a week before they fully ripen and fall off. It is recommended that you never pull the lights off the trees. Upon collecting the ripened lights, they can be combined with lights of other colours - and they can be moulded into various shapes. It’s, indeed, possible to create interesting sculptures with the lights.
The elves (kristelves) in this realm are a bit different than the elves that reside in other MtG (Magic the Gathering) realms. All of the elves have neon-coloured skin, and most of the them have one ruby eye and one sapphire eye. All blue elves, all red elves, and 10% of the rest (but no green elves) have emerald eyes. They also have hair of bright colours spanning the rainbow.
Gifts are delivered by the elves to children under the age of ten years, as five MtG realms are visited each day. Twenty children between the ages of five and nine with high cumulative mana are collected from each realm to spend two weeks in Kaldheim. As such, one hundred children visit Kaldheim each day - for a total of fourteen hundred children at any given time.
Tweens and teens between the ages of ten and nineteen, are allotted to two weeks of visiting Kaldheim per year. They can choose to do two weeks at once, or they can do one week twice. Adults twenty and above are allotted four weeks of visiting Kaldheim per year, and they have to pay more mana points. Unused visits add 500 mana points to your account. Realm walkers can, of course, visit Kaldheim anytime. Visits are also possible via the Shandalar Carnival, the Mercadia bazaars, and a few other elaborate methods.
Humans do also reside in this realm. Other sapient species include polar bears (pastel in colour), grizzly bears (neon in colour), arctic hares (pastel in colour), arctic foxes, arctic wolves, other large arctic dogs, deer/antelope (bucks have branched antlers, while the does have two long horns), arctic terns (pastel in colour), penguins (pastel in colour), and snowy owls. There are also snowball creatures, which are pastel in colour.
This realm is pure night for about twelve hours per day, with about two hours of twilight on each side - leaving about eight hours of daylight. Instead of a moon at night, stars of various bright colours twinkle. The daytime produces a bright lavender sky - and, instead of a sun, The Hall of Valkyries lights up on one side of the realm. It is bright golden during the daylight hours, and azure during the nighttime.
Kaldheim is the centre of the Greater Kaldheim Bloc, which contains ten other realms: Starnheim (afterlife realm, and origin of The Hall of Valkyries), Istfell (other afterlife realm), Karfell (dream realm), Immersturm, Gnottvold, Axgard, Bretagard, Surtland, Skemfar, and Littjara.

My thoughts, midnight to 8 AM
so a few of you might know this already, but I pulled an excruciating all-nighter to finish a lab report for my biotech lab. I woke up at 1 PM after a relieving power doze and discovered a document I had apparently made to record my hazy, delirious thoughts by the hour. honestly, it looks like a prose poem chronicling my descent into madness.
12:00 AM
thirteen hours without sleep and trying to focus on this damned lab report. blu sent something in japanese as a friendly jest but i cannot handle anything but latin at this time, please call again tomorrow. good news is, i only have to get a 76% on this to bump up to a C. hooray.
1:00 AM
hour fourteen. it feels like i’m entering the sixth spatial dimension. no idea where the fourth and fifth went, try again later. i have resorted to consuming my last wagon wheel to maintain energy levels.
150 words, but i forgot the header stuff. not that it matters that much right now.
time is starting to slow down and I’m fighting off a frustrated breakdown with a flaming stick. This should be interesting to watch, especially considering my eyes are also on fire.

hour fifteen. time is a snail and space is an avocado. the vaguely grassy taste is perpetual. i contemplate interrogation of my alternate selves, but they are in a sloeth and so i carry on. i have achieved page two, and three hundred words with it. the 420-word milestone is high nigh. nice.
the jellyfish swim out of the screen and dance their green ultraviolet waltz. or is it a tango? both require a partner.
i am alone.

hour sixteen. i have seen empires rise and fall in this aeon of my waking sight. i crank the david bowie louder and ignore them. look at those cavemen go; it really is the freakiest show. wonder if they'll ever know?

hypnos taunts me, tempts me, but lo! i have broken the third page and the next section begins. methods would be easier if the notebook was still on this plane, but it sunk into the astral sea before the semester started. go fish.

hour seventeen. seventy-six. time is returning to pace the floor and i don't like it. seventy-six. eyes? or fried grapes? at this point i'd rather not know. seventy-six. i went outside to check on the void. it smiled at me, so i went back inside. seventy-six. momentary cardiac arrhythmia would be easier to argue with if i liked coffee. but i don't, so the thunder grumbles as i send him over the hills. or, he would, if there were hills here.

results? not bad, i'd say. i would add the pictures but they're raining somewhere else. seventy-six. the jellyfish continue their dance, and john travolta would be either proud or terrified. truly, all the children boogie.

hour eighteen. 76. death stopped by but i told him i was busy. he gave me an ounce of lucidity but i’m not sure how long it’ll last me. 76. went outside again. the void is packing up to go to australia. 76. no line on the horizon but i know it’s coming.
shit. and still i keep going.

i was so sure the twenty-hour mark would herald the true descent into hell. but frankly, it's more like purgatory. or even a little bit like valhalla; a spiritual victory of sorts. went outside again for a few moments. the sun was arriving, dressing the clouds in soft fire. she reminded me it's okay to not succeed right away. things take time. but the end is in sight now, and while it isn't a perfect terminex it's still an end. hypnos' arms are wide open, waiting. another hour left.
i just wish the shaking and twitching would stop on its own.
