if i ever create a cartoon clay will be the main character

#jams art #oc #clay #i started thinking about him again #hes the only oc i have that instantly brings a smile to my face #the cartoon would be about dealing with ptsd from parental abuse #the 3 main kids would show off 3 different types of parental abuse and 3 different ways they cope with it #clay had a physically abusive father and he deals with it at first by distrusting boys and deals with internalized hatred because hes a boy #but as the show goes on he learns healthy coping habits and becomes a happy go lucky boy #his friend has neglectful parents and he responds by feeling hes not important thus he shuts himself off and doesnt interact with anybody #until clay befriends him that is #and then the big bully of the school has parents that constantly verbally abuse her and eachother so she reacts by being an angry bully #and she realizes over the course of the show that shes trans and shes afraid to tell her parents cause theyre always so mean #but clays new adoptive parents are there to help all 3 of them through their struggles #and theyre a happily married lesbian couple #and clay and the bully may develop crushes on eachother idk #but yeah this idea of mine always makes me feel excited #cause ive had an abusive mother and my dad couldnt be around much since he always had to work to provide for me #i just feel like its important to teach kids that even if they hurt itll be ok eventually #even if their parents dont love them like they should that theyre still loved by friends and people definitely care for them #i know i needed to hear that message as a kid #but i didnt so i have unhealthy coping skills that im still trying to unlearn #and i will be unlearning it for years #and i'll never be free from my ptsd but that doesnt mean that i can never be happy #i just want to help ease the pain of others lives
