So I know this show has some massive ramifications for the multiverse and the MCU at large, but this (extraordinarily painful) sequence also rhymes quite well with themes in both Journey Into Mystery and Agent of Asgard.
Loki, "born to cause pain and suffering and death," cursed to that role because it protects the proper flow of time, even as he rails against it.
If this show travels anywhere near what we saw in JIM and AOA (which, for the record, I think it will in at least a thematic way), we are not only in for a real treat but a massive amount of emotions.
