you theory about mikey being the second timeleaper would explain sp much. Why he doesn't seem to have any remorse to have almost kill Takemichi in the Kanto Arc (Mikey from the past would feel bad even while being in denial), the indifference to see all his friends being beaten (or worse), the cruel words to Kakucho ("did HE die for that"), when Manila!Mikey would threat Takemichi wthout crying and put the saftety lock, and when Boten!Mikey decided to jump after have seen that he shot Takemichi.
Hello! Thank you for reading and enjoying my posts! [spoilers below for Tokyo Revengers!]
I certainly think it’s a possible explanation for some of Mikey’s later behavior, particularly in Kanto Manji and at least some of Bonten (though I think a lot of the evidence I have is circumstantial, so I don’t think it’s the only explanation out there. Wakui will decide!).
Though, I feel that even if this is true, it’s not the only thing Mikey’s impulses are. He’s had signs of them across the series, for one thing, at times where he is clearly still himself. And for another, if it is a future Mikey who’s behind some of the worst of it—that’s still Mikey. He has the potential to become that version of himself, or someone comparable, even if things change.
Oh and I didn’t even think about that line to Kakucho, but I remember thinking when I read it that it seemed immensely unlike Mikey as we know him. Thank you for mentioning that!!
I think right now my biggest sticking point with my very original theory is—if that very first future Mikey was the one who saved Takemichi from the train and by extension sent him back to the past, why would he do that? And would the same person who did that also be the callous Mikey we see in Kanto Manji? These aren’t things I have answers for, to be honest!
No matter what, I suspect something is going on with him, and it involves some version of the future.
