Disney villain recruiters!! They are incredibly goofy but I love their costuming.
If you're not familiar with these characters, good job at not being as terminally online as me I guess!! :') They're semi-improv characters that (used to?) show up at Tokyo Disneysea at Halloween and try to "recruit" park visitors to villainy.
PRETTY NICHE CONTENT so of course I've been wanting to draw them forever. I've missed a couple (the Aladdin and Hunchback themed ones) so idk if I'll come back and add those one day but for now this is it..

twisted wonderland's is a japanese battle/rhythm game, at least i think so. the entire concept, character designs and scenario was created by the creator of black butler.
you awaken in an unfamiliar place called twisted wonderland, preparing to be enrolled in night raven college (an all-boys college). and then you get discovered you don't have magic and typical protagonist stuff goes by, and you still get enrolled into the school as a prefect.
as far as i know, the ppl in this game are pretty closely linked/related to the villains in disney. take riddle roseheart for example, his mother is called the "queen of hearts" and even from his overall outfit being comprised of roses, playing cards and a crown on his head,,, yeah i feel like he's definitely who i think he is.
tro (the right opinion), primink and j aubrey are pretty chill ppl who comment on what other terrible ppl did, like how tro has a 3 part series on onision (i'm sure you've heard of him) and he's able to provide a very neutral outlook on stuff like this. he does so much in depth researching on them before making a video and it really shows. i admire him a lot lol
and i have played the arcana before, like a couple years back? i haven't played it in a long time, but i was wondering more choice of games/hosted games vibe. it's a very niche(?) genre but some of the stuff they put out are insanely good. if you want, i can link you a couple demos that i think you may like? well, depending on what you're interested in anyways

ahhhhh i see! given how it’s created by the creator of black butler then im pretty sure it’s great. off topic but i once had a black butler phase when i was younger and god,, not me being obsessed w the undertaker.
why do i feel like i played/watched something like that before... ah, well it is a pretty common starting point. the thing abt disney characters sounds very cool! it’s always fun to see how characters are reimagined and portrayed in other works.
omg im showing my cavewoman side. it seems i misunderstood. i thought that the people you mentioned are like vloggers who do those pranks that are not pranks at all. i’m guessing they’re like the ‘tea’ explaining people? i personally dont indulge in that type of content but being able to learn about issues from a neutral/third-party perspective comes in handy bc most of the time, the problem party cant be trusted w accurate information. i heard of the name onision but i dont really KNOW about it. a quick google research got me kinda caught up though. god i feel so... detached from the civilization.
i cant guarantee i’ll be able to check every single thing out but yes! feel free to send in some recommendations and i’ll try to check them in my spare time

Queenie here! omg, I'm so glad you've watched Galavant! Not many people know about it unfortunately. My favorite characters are actually the villains! King Richard, Gareth and Madalena are comically over the top but have their softer moments too, which is what I like in antagonists. I think season 2 is great, if only for the first song/episode being a middle finger to the executives who wanted to cancel the show lol. I can't choose which song I like best, they are all hilarious and catchy!
Yeah, when you asked for King Arthur retelling recommendations, I seriously considered throwing Galavant out there, actually!! Eventually I decided that even though there are clear similarities between the King Arthur myths and the Galavant series, I didn’t think there were really enough to justify a mention. Besides, the humor in Galavant is ((in my opinion)) very,,,,,,, niche, I guess? I really think the jokes just aren’t for everyone, and a lot of people dislike the overarching plotline itself either because they feel it’s problematic, or it just isn’t arresting enough for them personally.
sdfghgfgbfdfgf yeah, the antagonists have so much more depth than I imagined they would!!!! It’s a musical period sitcom, my expectations were LITERALLY underground when I started the first episode lmao. But it’s HARD to find good historical shows where two ((and sometimes three or four or ten)) characters are just,,,,,,,,,, going at it,,,,,, for no reason at all like,,,,,,, down with unnecessary bedroom scenes honestly. I feel like it’s ESPECIALLY bad in period shows ((lookin at you, The Last Kingdom)) so when I heard Galavant was only PG, I honestly lost my shit and jumped on it lmao.
o o f no no I didn’t mean to make it sound like Sid was like,,,,,,, the ONLY character I love though!!!! to be honest, I love EVERYONE so much, it was hard for me to settle on a fave at first - I tend to go with Sid because, as discussed before, he’s played by Luke Youngblood who is gorgeous and amazing and his smile could kill me and i would say thank you, but both Galavant and King Richard are both BIG faves as well!!! I love how Galavant’s brash overconfidence balances his genuine compassion and huge heart, and King Richard’s quirky, off-beat nature adds an extra layer to a guy who’s just really trying to do the right thing, and find out he is in the process. And the writing of Gareth’s character is absolutely FLAWLESS tbh - I didn’t expect him to become such a major player in the beginning, and the way they slowly revealed his softer side, and never let it cancel out his brutality, was really just excellent. absolutely 10/10. and MADALENA!!! They give you so many reasons to feel bad for her, but they NEVER let any of it excuse her callous treatment of Galavant, Richard, Isabella, or any of the others and I LOVE that!!!!
Isabella is FANTASTIC, too, I like that they let her be tough, bossy, stubborn, quick-witted, cunning, and manipulative - a lot of traits that are seen as stereotypically “unladylike” - and never once compromised her kindness OR her femininity. ((I could write a fuckin,,,,,,, BOOK about Sid lmao so i won’t put you through that, but he never really knows what’s going on from one episode to the next and that is a mood and a half))
dfhjytghgfrtyujhgftyhg im,,,,,,, STILL not over the fact that the first episode of the second season was literally called “Suck it Cancellation Bear” like these guys were just,,,,,,,, living their best lives huh,,,,,,
ahhhh that’s fair!!! lol the songs all have a kind of Disney feel to them, which I appreciate - pretty sure Alan Menken lends that touch!!
fhjhtghgfghgf anyway this turned into???? a goddamn NOVEL i’m sorry i’ll let you go now
