I’m splitting my @hprarepairfest rec list into three: Bratty Femmes, Angsty Boys* and Giggles with Gilderoy*  (*and others). 

Do mind the tags on these! Some fics include incest and underage, among other common squicks. If the theme of my bratty femmes rec list was Narcissa and Pansy having great sex and making bad decisions, the theme of this one is Sirius, Regulus, dub con and angst.

**With A Whisky Chaser by @vdoshu (3.5k, M)

They say that a person’s Animagus form can impart behaviours. Impulses. Maybe that’s why Sirius has always chased. He’d chased after Peter. He’s chasing the bottom of the bottle. And soon, he’ll chase the ghost of his brother’s memory.

This is so haunting and gorgeous and simple and complex at the same time. Ooof what an ending. I love how Sirius's relationship with Regulus is woven throughout without ever being named explicitly - because how would Sirius even be able to name it explicitly? These two fucked up brothers!! I love them. I don't think I'll ever get tired of reading about Sirius with a drinking problem haunted by his family in OotP, and this was such a perfect addition to the genre.

 “But we’re not brothers anymore, haven’t you said so?"

The balance of degradation and love and shame and desire is so perfectly done. Stunning.

La Petite Folie by ticigi (5k, E) 

During the holidays, Sirius was kept from his friends. His mother didn’t want him associating with those below their family. The only person he has access to is his brother. Luckily, he’s slim and pretty.

Hot classic dirtywrong. The author’s dark, cruel Sirius is everything. The dub con of it all! And then the care at the end. I also loved how embedded within the Black family they felt - Orion and Walburga were key figures in the fic despite having almost no screen time.

**The Cost of Survival by @vdoshu (Peter Pettigrew/Barty Crouch Jr, 11k, M)

Peter likes the way that people look at him because he’s a Marauder. He likes the way that he’s invited along to get-togethers during the summers, the way that people pass him drinks and snacks at Quidditch after-parties, the way that people don’t laugh about him when he’s within earshot. He likes the way that everyone knows who he is, and pretends to like him. But he likes the way that Barty treats him even more.

Dark and fascinating and takes Peter SERIOUSLY in the best way. See my rec post.

He Looked Just Like James by storyofeden (Sirius/Harry, 1k, E)

“Harry was the spitting image of James like this, all wild hair and chin messy with drool. James, though…James had never sucked his cock like this. So enthusiastically. So lovingly. Merlin, it felt like worship."

I will never get tired of OotP Sirius/Harry fics. This was such a delightfully dark and dangerous and hot little fic!

Till Tomorrow and Till Death by me <3 (Remus/Regulus, 11k, M)

Regulus, the traitor to the Dark Lord, was given to the werewolves as punishment. Regulus wished he knew if Remus was trying to help him or hurt him.

Is it uncouth to put your own fic on a rec list? Don’t care. I love this fic.

Bonus: Angsty Lesbians

Shades of Dawn by @corvuscrowned (Ginny/Lavender, 2.6k, E)

It happens once a month — the full moon fades in the black night sky, replaced with the pink light of dawn. Ginny’s Floo sparks — vibrant green, devoured by gold and amber light. And out spills Lavender Brown.

Such gorgeous writing. A real ache in the chest and lump in your stomach of a fic. Something that'll stick with me for a while.

**Healer on Duty by @yletylyf (Alecto Carrow/Poppy Pomfrey, 6k, E)

Poppy Pomfrey has seen a lot of suffering through her years as a Healer. The regime change at Hogwarts brought it to a new level, with the Carrows putting children on her infirmary cots almost daily. Speaking out against the Death Eaters only made it worse. Perhaps she needed to work with the new power structure instead.

I love the questions of complex morality and loyalty woven throughout and just how deeply real both Alecto and Poppy feel. Plus, their constant fights and sex are wonderful. An amazing fic.
