I love all of the side characters in tocss, and was wondering if there was anything you could share about the mystery date that Lianzhu was with on Zhongyuan. We saw them briefly, but I am intrigued!

That was Xuezhai (pending I don't change my mind on her name, though I also don't know if she will get named in story, so ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯). She and Lianzhu were on a little date which is why Xuezhai was so standoffish and displeased at Lianzhu offering for 'San Lang' and Xie Lian to come sit with them like ? Hello? I have plans to kiss you under the fireworks?? Maybe more than that if you want?? Why are you inviting these fucking guys??? They've been friends for a while and recently trying a little dating. Lianzhu also had kissing plans but she was fully expecting Hua Cheng to reject the offer and was purposefully shit-stirring. Can confirm though that smooches were had ;)

Xie Lian didn't think too hard on any of this because he was too flustered at being caught there with San Lang and anticipating the teasing he was sure to get in future, and he was a bit distracted by the Big Flirtation Energy Hua Cheng was putting out all night and then it all burned down and he just kinda forgot entirely about the whole interaction

While I completely agree with your yoi hp sortings personality-wise, I have a hard time believing Yuri "Let me ruin my stealth mission for this tiger shirt" Plisetsky wouldn't hold the hat hostage until it put him in the cool cat house.
