The people who live there talk to her sometimes, mostly when she sleeps, but during the day, too. They tell her she's destined for greatness; she just has to make it there.

Plot Bunny: Prudence Donnadieu

Eight years ago, Prudence Donnadieu went out to the beach, hoping for a bit of alone time before the birth of her daughter. While out, the Roxxon rig exploded, and the shock sent her into premature labor. She gave birth with the ocean waves running up over her feet, and she was found the next morning, alive and well, with her baby in her arms.

In the hospital, Prue dreamed of a little bookstore in an abandoned mall, and behind the checkout counter, she found a directory of shops in the mall and people who owned them. Andre Deschaine - music store. Renee Deladier - pharmacy. Tyrone Johnson - sports supply. Tandy Bowen - ballet shop. When she touched one of the names, she saw through their eyes, feeling everything they felt.

As time went on, Prue resisted learning more about her power, but the knowledge that her little Ava was in her directory kept bringing her back. And then, one day, new names appeared. Brigid O’Reilly - nail salon. Morris Bench - pool supply. Rebecca Proctor - shoe store.

Add that in to the fact that more and more girls are going missing in New Orleans, Prudence feels obligated to use her powers to find out what’s going on and put a stop to it. Before the danger gets any closer to home.
