Characters I'm most similar to:

1.) Ellie Nash

2.) Grace Cardinal

3.) Terri MacGregor

Three things I would change:

1.) The mishandling of practically every black and POC character. It's no secret that almost all of them were either sidelined or barely given a fraction of the focus the white characters were given. Ex: Liberty's pregnancy was almost all about JT, Jimmy's reaction to the shooting and his paralysis is minor compared to the focus on Spinner and his redemption arc, Chantay doing precious little for eight seasons straight, Tiny exists only as a love interest and Zig's sidekick in spite of his rich background involving addict parents, Vince, and previous gang ties, Shay's mostly only prominent during a story line specifically about racism compared to Frankie and Lola.

2.) Inadvertently making multiple main characters rapists because the writers were uneducated about what healthy consent looks like (Sav/Anya in season 9, Holly J/Declan in season 10, Drew/Katie in season 12)

3.) Queerbaiting the Zoe/Grace romance in Next Class to prove a point about stereotypes by punishing the one character not stereotyping or making assumptions about Grace. Straight up, they didn't need to have sex. That was hurtful and way too far. All this specifically told from Zoe's perspective, meaning the show deliberately kept Grace's feelings and motivations a mystery.

Characters I once loved but then disliked:

1.) Declan Coyne (Season 10 originally turned me off, but rewatching season 9 only reinforced that he was always an entitled, self involved person with a flimsy grasp on respecting the word "no")

2.) Owen Milligan (Love is a stretch, but I easily accepted him as a boyfriend to Anya and protective brother to Tristan presumably because I thought Daniel Kelly was hot with longer hair. I know myself, and 18 year old me had no shame. Owen Milligan had zero redeeming qualities.)

3.) Johnny DiMarco (Not full on dislike, but I've lost a lot of respect for the character and feel he spent a lot of time being a malicious asshole and involving himself with a much younger girl well past the age of knowing better. Just because he acknowledged JT four seasons after his death doesn't make him a good person)

Characters I once disliked but now like:

1.) Mia Jones (She wasn't that bad. She just came onto the show during an awkward era, and I was then a big fan of JT/Liberty and Peter/Darcy. While the modeling arc wasn't great and Degrassi could have done a better job showing her struggles as a teen mom, she was well intentioned and people liked her because she was nice. It's that simple, but I had a visceral hatred of her LOL)

2.) Campbell Saunders (It wasn't him. It was the overwhelming fan response. Now that it's been a decade since his character was killed off, I can admit he was a good character. Just not a personal favorite)

3.) Drew Torres (I'm aware there's a lot wrong with him and that he deserves an award for the consecutive amount of bad decisions he made, but there's something endearing about the character. I'm a big fan of his growth, particularly in season 13 and during the first half of season 14. He got screwed so that the baby could be Eli's, and I hated it)

Have you ever unfollowed someone over a fandom opinion? Yes I’ve had to unfollow some nasty anti-Zaya people (I don’t mind if someone doesn’t ship them of course but when people start calling their shippers delusional or calling Zig a rapist, bye)

Do you have a NoTP in your fandom? Are they a popular OTP?* Eclare & Jiberty

Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?* No not really Has fandom ever made you enjoy a pairing you previously hated?* I started liking Sellie, Beckdam, and Crash because of the DTC. I never hated them but I wasn’t into them until I was looking through gifsets of their scenes on Tumblr. Is there anything you used to like but can’t stand now?* Alli Bhandari kind of and lowkey Camaya(I still like them but when I see gifsets of them I get kind of annoyed now and when I rewatch their scenes I’m bored)

Have you received anon hate? What about?* I’ve gotten anon hate about my gifs were bad quality, I’ve also got anon hate calling me an idiot, and once got anon hate because I dislike Liberty and Jiberty.

Most disliked character(s)? Why? Esme, because of the way she treats people, Miles, because of the way the writers favoritize him and because of his overratedness in the fandom, Mia, because of the way she acted after JT’s death, her modeling storyline bored me to tears and was unrealistic, she was a bad mother to Isabella, and her relationship with Peter was terrible. Hunter, Baaz, & Vijay, because they all cyberbullied and threatened Maya, & Vijay also outed Zoe online and is just super annoying and dramatic. And Baaz also because of what he said to Grace. Rick, Bobby, Leo, Vince, Dean, Luke, & Neil because they’re rapists/abusers, Katie because she’s a rapist and because of how she treated Bianca(there are times I still liked Katie like after she dyed her hair in season 12 but in s11-early season 12 pre hair-dye I couldn’t stand her). She was also tolerable in Next Class. Derek, because he was an asshole and he beat up Jane. Jimmy, because he was an asshole most of the time and the whole overratedness because of Drake is annoying. Eli, because he’s emotionally manipulative/abusive, cocky, annoying, also because of the way the writers favoritized him and his overratedness in the fandom. S11-s14 Clare, because Eli dragged her down, she became boring & her storylines became extremely unrealistic, and most of her scenes involved Eli plus she had way too much screen time. Liberty, because I found her uptight and bitchy most of the time(sorry I know you like her) I actually liked her in s4, s7, & s8 but in s1-3 and s5-6 I couldn’t stand her. Oh and Drake Lempkey cause he killed JT.

Most disliked arc? Why? JT’s death, Adam’s death, Degrassi Nudes, Clare’s cancer, Clare’s pregnancy/miscarriage, Mia’s modeling storyline, Jane/Declan affair, Spemma marriage, Drecky relationship, anything involving Eclare, Zoemund hook up/Zig cheating on Maya, anything involving Matlingsworth, Peters one day meth addiction, Jay and Silent Bob go Canadian at the end of s4 (God those episodes were boring), Katie/Drew sex storyline at the beginning of s12(because the writers didn’t recognize it as rape like it was). Why? Except for the last one, I don’t really have an explanation for most of these except they are either boring, ridiculous, or both. And JT and Adams death because they were sad obviously.

Since you've been rewatching Degrassi, I'll say that!

lol god that’s a tall order but since ive been rewatching s11 today i’ll just deal with the characters from that era!

Favorite Male Character: lol imma be supes basic here and say Eli. like the show definitely didn’t know what to do with Eli/Munro for a long time after he graduated but they still kept him cause popularity reasons but in the early days, Eli was an interesting and compelling character? definitely cut from the same cloth as Craig Manning which is probably why i liked him so much lol.

Favorite Female Character: FIONA COYNE. i’ve rediscovered my Fiona feelings and god she’s even better than I remember?? Fiona went through so much development and battled a lot of struggles not limited to but including coming to terms with her sexuality to deep self worth issues to her addiction problems stemming from said self worth issues; only to come out on the other end a mature, happy and self possessed girl who was confident in who she was. like the show did some of their best character work with Fiona and Annie was one of the strongest actors they had on the show and she’s sooooooo underrated imo. i wish she’d come back to acting one day.

Least Favorite Character: dude K.C. was straight up terrible lol. and i genuinely feel bad for the actor sometimes cause his character trajectory changed so much from who he was originally supposed to be. K.C. was brought on to be a golden boy falling from grace type and also Clare’s main love interest but when the show cast Munro and Eli became a fan fave lol that was blown to hell. but they kinda went the route of just completely ruining K.C. as a character and turned him into someone with very few redeeming qualities. the actor was never able to rise above the material either. And imma give a second character here that may shock the masses but say i also didn’t care for Holly J. like at all. when she was a bitchy cheerleader with edge, i saw it for her but the moment the show decided to switch gears with her and make her into this, and i hate this term but: Mary Sue. She did become a Mary Sue, i really couldn’t hack it or her. i always found Anya to be much more interesting tbh.

Favorite Ship: this was the beginnings of Fimogen and i admit i was heavily invested in the back and forth Eclare drama. so those two!

Favorite Friendship: Eli/Fiona. i forgot what a good solid friendship that was.

Favorite Quote: I can’t think of one. But anything Fiona said.

Worst Character Death (if any): there weren’t any deaths this season. not even NEAR deaths, which is saying something.

This made me so happy you have no idea Moment: FIMOGEN’S FIRST KISS AT THE END OF THIS SEASON!!!!!!!!

Saddest Moment: the S9 kids graduated this season so we had to say goodbye to Sav, Anya, Zane, Riley etc and I did love that group of kids a lot too.

Favorite Location: The Frostival Carnival set was really pretty.

1. What do you plan on doing with your life a decade from now? I purposely don’t plan that far ahead. I don’t even know what I’ll be doing tomorrow.

2. Do you support abortion? Yes or No? Give your reasons. Yes, because it’s not your fucking business what someone else does with their own damn body.

3. Do you support euthanasia? Yes or No? Give your reasons. Yes. If you’re terminal and suffering and quality of life is terrible and getting progressively worse, why should the pain continue? Also once again, nobody’s fucking business except the person in question. Not even their family. Because if someone you love is in pain and/or dying, why would you want to perpetuate it?

4. Would you rather go back in time or remain where you are in terms of the time of your life? I don’t want to go back in time, I just want to go back geographically.

5. Do you like the school you’re going to? Yes or No? Give your reasons. I haven’t gone to school in ten years.

6. Who was your favourite Disney princess as a child? Okay first of all. I hate Disney. Like hate it. But I absolutely love Pocahontas and she is the only Disney Princess that matters.

7. How do you manage your finances? What do you normally spend it on? And what would you do with your savings for the future? My husband pays household bills, I buy groceries. Then I spend the rest of my money on whatever I want. But now that I have a new job I have to start making my own car payment and try to contribute to the house fund.
