#lol #one of my coworkers brought smth up today #and it was that I had said thanks brother #to him #one time in the work chat and he said a bunch of the guys texted him outside the chat after #bc it seemed like it could be racially motivated bc he’s Hispanic and I’m white and I was like #not at all I’m. hulk hogan? #I told him I was like that rlly is just. I don’t talk that way at work but I call ppl brother or brethren 😭 #I’m so sorry I didn’t mean it like that at all #and he was like . Nah **** was like u know she doesn’t mean it that way #and I was like he’s right I don’t 😭 #I told him like I’m aware that I’m the only white person at this job and I’m aware of how it looks and the positionality #like. I Know #and he kind of was like yeah like I don’t care but ~serious face ~ there aRe a few people who do care #and now I’m like #how does that make me feel #I was already feeling like hyper aware of how it looks that I’m the only white person on this job and at that a white woman #and I got a lead position - low-key the top ish spot #and I FELT that that was rubbing ppl the wrong way so maybe now it’s just harder knowing that people ARE rubbed the wrong way by it #but like . what can I really do #we shall see how this job goes #things have been stressful lol #personal
