Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184: Mecha Combat #983 - July 3347 Forty
(By Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184) Mountain Climbing Mecha Combat #983
Brought to you by ANN
Highlighting the July 3347 Forty
As the Gaming authorities are wont to do, they decided a limited tonnage event was a good idea in the opening stages of the Toshiko raid.
Not good, but it could have been much worse.
At least it was not an Anzu Chrono, in fact it was not a Chrono at all, but rather a sudden Death event. And we was allowed to use Mechs up to 40 tons.
For most of the event I was to busy dodging fire from Toshiko`s marionettes to bother about the event. In a sudden death, what you do until the scramble is at best scouting. What matters is that you are present during the scramble, (with a correct formation) ready to attack and get a position that nets you some prizes.
As the scramble neared, Tony sent me a message. "I think we can spare you for a while, go to the mountain and make us proud"
There was still some time until the scramble, so I went to the compound and asked Bruno to prepare my Snooze formation (40 tonners). They have done well in most of the recent 40 events, and consists of a frontline of Novums backed by a pure Nephilax force.
After swapping out the slow cannons for faster ordenance, we marched to the arena. Due to my poor showing lately we had been demoted from K2 to K4, and for a change I had the highest licence in the crowd.
Some of those who were present had not bothered to change from their main formations yet, but many had. The biggest contingent was from the AFF, seven dangerous opponents who held all the eight high spots save one. The top was held by the Brotherhood of Dragons` Chris Zimmer, an acomplished warrior who bests me more often than not. To get into a striking position of him, I displaced Leopold Hackenbush from the lowest slope position and settled down to watch the action.
The only action that happened was that the AFF contingent was reinforced by Joe Smith, and as the scramble started I launched an attack on Zimmer.
And was repulsed. A few more attacks showed that his force was more or less identical to mine, a line of Novums in front, and Nephilaxes behind. Ok so he had some Zadok`s in the mix but... The problem was, his formation was more effective than mine.
Attack after attack was launched, but most of the time my forces were destroyed by his third or fourth line. We reached the fifth a couple times, but could not get past it.
Sometimes sheer bloody mindedness is the key. I grabbed my supers and increased the pace. The loss tally soared, but that was of little consequence, I was willing to accept scores of losses if we could just beat him in time to take the top before it was over (and hold it). I had just opened my fourth super when the light suddenly flashed, Drat, for once an early ending.
My wild charges had resulted in quite a bit of footage from the other tops as well, and by looking through all of it I figured that the winners this time had been:
Div 1 337+ (20 Commanders): Claude Poitier, Leviathan (5m,2s) 2: Bernard Johnson 3: Fabio Favaro 4: Jeff Haas 5: Terry Cole 6: Daniel Scott 7: Jay Fleharty 8: Sal Vezzosi Jr 9: Sherriff Leary Wretham 10: Jaime Beltran Div 2 -336 (14 Commanders): Stroker Spot, Death`s Berzerkers (15m,11s) Div 3 -223 (9 Commanders): Terry Harper, Northwind Dragons (1d,4h) Div 4 -175 (14 Commanders): Chris Zimmer, Brotherhood of Dragons (3h,45m) Div 5 -143 (22 Commanders): Joey Goldez, Black Star Knights (6h,41m) Div 6 -104 (18 Commanders): 1GoML, OG Dragons (54s) Div 7 -77 (19 Commanders): Markus Eisenhand, Black Star Bandits (10h,42m) Div 8 -59 (18 Commanders): Ann Kristin Hiller, Sacrificial Lambs (1h,8m) Div 9 -37 (13 Commanders): Nick Walter, *R.V.* (34m,48s) Div 10 -25 (14 Commanders): Dave Hankin, R.V. squad 3 (12h,10m) Div 11 -15 (14 Commanders): James Tyson (10h,56m)
6+7+6(2S)+5+6+6+4+10(1S)+8(2S)+2(G)+0= One Gold, five Silvers and fifty-four Bronzes were awarded to Commanders who clearly had overweight Mechs in their formations.
Total Contestants: 175 Total medals claimed: 153 (of 165 possible)
Compared to the just held Pointmech event, we saw nearly a third (79) fewer formations. Was it due to the need for everyone to struggle against Toshiko`s hordes? Either way, less than half of the tops had enough contestants on them to claim all the prizes, and an even dozen of Bronzes from six tops were returned for resmelting.
The last half-hour saw three Golds change hands at least once, one of them decided less than a minute before the end. Six Golds were held for longer than two hours, one of them for more than a day. This sounds like a fairly quiet event, -at least on the tops. But to see if the struggle for the lesser prizes was harder we take a look at the number of medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event:
.............Silvers......Bronzes Div 1 ....1 of 4.........6 of 10 Div 2 ....3 of 4.........7 of 9 Div 3 ....4 of 4.........4 of 4 Div 4 ....4 of 4.........9 of 9 Div 5 ....4 of 4.........5 of 10 Div 6 ....1 of 4.........5 of 10 Div 7 ....4 of 4.........8 of 10 Div 8 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10 Div 9 ....4 of 4.........8 of 8 Div 10 ..4 of 4.........9 of 9 Div 11 ..4 of 4.........9 of 9
We had six quiet tops this time where no successful medal attacks was launched; K3, K4, K8, K9, K10 and K11. K2 and K7 had one attack each and K5 was pretty active. Mount Olympus and K6 was where most of the action was, most of the medals on those two tops got new holders.
Again we had an event where none of the current Squads/Clans got more than one Gold. None of the Pointmech winners got a follow-up Gold either, but we had one unaligned winner: James Tyson on K11.
James Tyson`s first appearance was in this years (3347) June Frontline event, where he got a Bronze. In the following PointMech he advanced to Silver, and here he scored his first Gold. Clan leaders looking to bolster their forces might do much worse than enlisting this rising star as soon as the transfer windows opens after this Toshiko incident.
Upcoming event: King of the Mountain (unlimited)
Here we have an unlimited, sudden death event. Anything goes, but to get (good) prizes, being present during the scramble is recommended.
Event ends May 25 between 1530 and 1600 New York Time

Santiago Solari is still safe despite Real Madrid’s mauling by Barcelona

Santiago Solari is still safe despite Real Madrid's Solari has injected a spark into the team

When the knives were out on Thursday morning for Santiago Solari, they were not particularly long or sharp, as he had just followed the home victory with 3-0 of his team against Barcelona .
This does not mean that his work is safer than when he took over, but most supporters acknowledge that it was Solari who sold Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer and it was not Solari who did not like him has replaced.
The camera crews from the late night sports programs of Spain tried to get a little disagreement outside the Bernabeu when people started to write away from the stadium the only song that they did not too much the Cristiano Ronaldo needed to encourage.

& # 39; Suarez gives them what Madrid does not have & # 39 ; was Mark's header in the match report
& # 39; Suarez gives them what Madrid does not have & # 39; was tagged as the head of the match report. ]
The second page of Journal AS on the front page reads: & # 39; Barcelona shoots twice on goal and scores three & # 39 ;. That supported the theory that Solari's Madrid did not deserve to lose.
The coach seemed shattered after the game and seemed sincere when he said the locker room was sad & # 39; used to be.
Two of the things that are currently temporarily abandoned by Solari are that his team has played the two legs for long periods, and that the best performances of players are those who are responsible for making the first team regulars.
Read magazine of front page second headline & # 39; Barcelona shoot twice on goal and score three & # 39;
Quirky finish aside Vinicius was excellent and carried the game to Barcelona, both at home and in the camp Nou. And Sergio Reguilon, the 22-year-old leftback that Solari brought in, Marcelo dumped in the process, was Madrid's best player in the night.
The guilty finger will be focused on Solari if Real Madrid loses again on Saturday in the league Clasico
Real Madrid would be 12 points behind Barcelona in that scenario and it would be difficult to find somewhere else to watch, despite the fact that he – in the form of Vinicius and Reguilon – has brought to stimulate the team that was missed earlier in the season.
Loses Saturday and will be knocked out of the Champions League on March 5 against Ajax and he would have no job, but with a 2-0 lead from the first stage and the Champions League looks like as the only game that Real Madrid can win, that seems unlikely.
[Real Madrid] [Real Madrid] [Real Madrid] [Real Madrid] [Real Madrid] Solari is safe until the end of the season, it is the idea that Madrid can lose Ronaldo and not replace it, that does not look forward to make it in May.
There was a song in Spanish football: & # 39; This is how Madrid always wins & # 39 ;. They were the best team in the world. But they adopted the song and made it their own
A headline on Monday read: & # 39; This is how Madrid used to win & # 39 ;. Barcelona had not played brilliantly but went through.
They have Suarez. Madrid does not have Ronaldo anymore. And if everything you need is a goal, that is the difference between success and failure.

Brighton 1-5 Liverpool: Reds cruise back into the top four

Brighton 1-5 Liverpool: Reds cruise back into the top four
There were several moments during this vicious exhibition of schoolyard bullying when Jurgen Klopp would randomly burst into a grin at the sheer brutality of it all. How he enjoyed watching his three little assassins make such a big mess of Brighton.
They were exceptional, that trident of Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah, who had one of those rare days when he did not score but still ticked the box of an excellent performance.
Instead, this one was more about Firmino, who scored the second and third goals, and Coutinho, who made the first for Emre Can and netted a laughably good fourth for himself, before delivering the late shot that Lewis Dunk headed into his own net.

At times, frequently in fact, those three men produced counter-attacking football that will not be bettered anywhere this season. The second and third goals, in particular, were items of great beauty and speed, delivered at a ground where Brighton had not lost since the opening match of the season, when Manchester City were in town. Even Pep Guardiola’s side only managed two that day.
How fitting, then, that only City can currently match Liverpool’s form, given Klopp’s side have now won five and drawn one of the six league games played since they were battered 4-1 by Tottenham in October. The lesser-heralded factor of that run is that even their defence, which is normally so shaky, has been behaving itself, with only three conceded since the Spurs hammering.
They are light on numbers at the back, which will eventually become a problem if they do not reinforce correctly, but they can have no concerns about the depth or strength of their attack. None whatsoever.
Roberto Firmino scores Liverpool’s second goal just 79 seconds after their opener following Philippe Coutinho’s cross
Firmino made no mistake as Liverpool doubled their lead very shortly after moving in front as Brighton were left stunned
Firmino (left) celebrates with Mohamed Salah and Philippe Coutinho after rounding off a sweeping move for the second goal
Firmino scored his 10th goal of the season at Brighton and marked it by pointing skywards at the Amex Stadium
Firmino fires home Liverpool’s third goal early in the second-half as they took complete command of the contest
Salah has 17 goals in all competitions and three assists, including the pass for Firmino’s second; Firmino has 11 goals and four; Coutinho has six and seven. All are under 6ft but they are monsters and they mauled all in their path here, while Daniel Sturridge and Sadio Mane sat watching from the bench. No wonder Klopp was having a ball, even if his words afterwards were more subdued than his actions on the side.
‘Did I enjoy it? Not really, not all the time,’ he said.
‘In our calmer moments we are a really good team but we need to carry on. I am more interested in the next game (against Spartak Moscow on Wednesday).’
He added: ‘We need the points in the Premier League and we want to stay as close as possible to the teams in front. We cannot get them immediately but we want to be in a position where we are close.’
Firmino gets a hug from forward partner Mohamed Salah after scoring his second goal of the afternoon at the Amex Stadium
Firmino turns and salutes the travelling Liverpool fans after scoring their third goal of the game shortly after half-time
Liverpool’s three-goal advantage lasted mere seconds, however, as Glenn Murray scored for Brighton from the penalty spot
Shane Duffy reacts for a penalty as the ball flashes through a crowded penalty area and referee Graham Scott awarded it
Anthony Knockaert ran in and grabbed the ball from the net after Murray placed his penalty past Simon Mignolet
Regardless of Klopp’s tone, they are close to everyone bar City and they have the benefit of momentum, despite the concerns before this game about a makeshift backline that looked desperately vulnerable.
Among Klopp’s six changes to the side that beat Stoke in midweek – he has made 54 alterations this season, which by some distance is a Premier League high – was a three-man defence including a pair of repurposed midfielders in Can and Georginio Wijnaldum. It was peculiar to see Klopp go with three centre-halves when the thigh injury to Joel Matip and the sickness of Ragnar Klavan meant he barely had scope to go with one, but they were not exposed here.
There was one rough moment on 16 minutes, when Glenn Murray botched his shot but, beyond that, Brighton offered nothing until their goal in the second half at 3-0 down.
Coutinho scores from a free-kick for Liverpool’s fourth goal three minutes from the end on the south coast
Coutinho (left) celebrates with Jordan Henderson and Andrew Robertson after wrapping up the three points with the fourth

Liverpool winger Salah leads his team onto the attack during the opening minutes on the south coast
Brighton forward Izzy Brown, currently on loan from Chelsea, tries to find a way around captain Henderson in the midfield
Liverpool, by contrast, were brutally effective. The first goal, on the half hour, was basic enough, a corner from Coutinho and a header from Can.
The second, about a minute later, was just delightful in its speed, with Salah surging 30 yards to the edge of Brighton’s area and then rolling out left to Coutinho. His first-time ball across the box was the eye-catching element of the move, and Firmino wrapped it up with the one-touch finish at the far post.
The third in the 49th minute was equally wonderful given the absurd speed of Liverpool’s counter after Simon Mignolet had made an excellent stop to block a volley from Murray. Just 14 seconds later, they had scored, with Firmino playing to Salah, who then skipped by a couple of challenges before sending Firmino one-on-one with Mat Ryan after the Brazilian had run 60 yards for a return pass. The striker buried it.
Liverpool’s forward Firmino finds himself involved in an early aerial skirmish with Brighton pair Lewis Dunk and Duffy
Murray, the former Crystal Palace striker, misses a good opportunity to score for his side during the first-half
Liverpool’s Wijnaldum keeps close tabs on Brighton’s Pascal Gross during the opening stages of the match
Salah, wearing gold boots for the occasion, challenges for a 50-50 ball with Brighton defender Dunk, who later scored an OG
Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold attempts to stop Brighton’s Brown delivering a cross during the first-half
Murray pulled one back with a penalty, before Coutinho added a fourth with a free-kick of some genius. Liverpool’s analysts had spotted that Brighton’s walls jump at free-kicks so Coutinho kept it low. Superb.
The fifth came from a Coutinho run and shot that deflected in via Lewis Dunk’s head.
Asked if Liverpool were the best side Brighton have faced, Hughton said: ‘Yes. They gave us a harsh lesson.’
Bullying has never looked so good.
Liverpool’s Milner attempts to deliver a cross during an opening to the match in which his team were dominant
Liverpool’s Firmino and Brighton’s Gaetan Bong get in a tangle as they compete for the ball during the first-half
Liverpool leading scorer Salah can’t find a way through this time as he is outmuscled by Brighton’s Stephens

Real Madrid 0-3 Barcelona – Saurez brace and Varane own goal seals place in Copa del Rey final
Luis Suarez destroys Real Madrid in Santiago Bernabeu to place his team in the Copa del Rey final and to leave
They may have spent 1000 days in the Champions League, but there have been few comforts in recent years. They watch the final cup of this season on television and if they beat Barcelona again on Saturday, they are 12 points behind in the competition.
Suarez caused the damage. His nickname at the club is Fat – & # 39; fat & # 39 ;. It is an affectionate reference to his stocky construction. If you touch the critics, I suggest I lose a few pounds.
Suarez kept his coolness 12 meters away and chose to hit the ball in the net with Keylor Navas helpless and rowing on the ground
FACULENTY FACTS
Real Madrid (4-3-3): Navas; Carvajal, Varane, Ramos, Reguilon; Kroos, Casemiro (Valverde 75), Modric;
Booked:

Booked: [Meer informatie] Lucas, Casemiro
Barcelona (4-3) -3): Ter Stegen; Semedo, Pique, Lenglet, Alba; Roberto; Busquets (Arthur 86), Rakitic; Messi, Suarez (Vidal 79), Dembele (Coutinho 75)
Cillessen, Malcom, Alena, Umtiti
Suarez 50, 73, Varane OG 69
Booked: Busquets, Semedo
I searched 45 minutes Was there an injury? Was he exhausted?
His finish for the first goal was exceptional and his cool chip from the penalty spot rubbed Real's face into the bad of another miserable night against Barcelona. Lionel Messi has still not scored against them in the Cup, but he did not have to.
He does not always look like the streamlined supermodel, but he is a finisher and he is what Real Madrid is
The first half was the story of the waste of the 18-year-old. He has everything but tranquility in the penalty area.
His first touch was poor, his second touch even worse to him and when his shot was blocked by Clement Lenglet, Karim Benzema could not get enough strength to beat Marc Andre ter Stegen.
There was also a penalty shout when I fell down after the challenge of Nelson Semedo.
The next chance of the Brazilian came from the cross of Sergio Reguilon. The ball was slightly behind him and when he adjusted, the chance was over.
Reguilon was exceptional in the first half and made important interceptions and intelligent raids in half of Barcelona. He also made a powerful run of deep in his own half that put Nelson Semedo to an end by leveling the 22-year-old. There is a reason why Marcelo was watching the game – while he occasionally ran the ball over his index finger – on the bench
Barcelona struggled to threaten
Suarez furious the fans in the house by sliding before them after scoring to patch up more misery on their rival hosts. Ousmane Dembele flashed one ball across the face of the six-yard box but all too often he and Jordi Alba were at different wavelengths and seemed to be struggling with suarez. Appearance can be deceitful.
After 50 minutes the first goal came. Jordi Alba went left and Suarez lurked between Sergio Ramos, who was not tight enough, and Toni Kroos, who did not walk back with enough conviction.
When the ball was played to the Uruguayan, he fizzled a first time past Keylor Navas before Ramos and Kroos could do how code-red was the danger. Barcelona had their goal. Now Real Madrid had to score twice.
Again a chance was made and not taken.
Tired of making chances that were subsequently wasted. Reguilon moved one of his descents into the area.
Without signs of the coming goal, Bale stood up for Lucas Vazquez. But before he could hit the ball, Barcelona scored twice.
Suarez still seemed to run with stones in his boots, but he came away from Real Madrid a little later and when Casemiro was on his foot the punishment was given.
To close a great night for him, he sent it & # 39; Panenka Style & # 39; about the dive of Navas. Ramos drew a grimace and the score was 3-0
Bale finally started to get some touches, but when he got his first chance, there were whistles from the supporters.
He is the best player of the day,
