#brutus and pouncey love their lonzy
Text
Alonzo is the best, most underrated dad, and no one can tell me otherwise.
Here's Dad!Alonzo with his patched twins!
"I'm going out to look for them."
Alonzo was standing in front of Munkustrap, his paws behind his back to hide his nerves.
Munkustrap looked at his friend. "Are you sure you'll be able to find them?"
"I'm going to try, Munk." Alonzo replied firmly. "I have to. If there's even a chance that I can find them, bring them here where they'll be safe, I have to take that chance."
"Okay." Munkustrap said, nodding. "Just be safe, alright?"
Alonzo smiled briefly before leaving Munkustrap's den.
He spent hours after leaving the Junkyard just walking the streets, his ears flicking every which way, desperate to hear the cries of kittens, or tiny voices calling out.
He finally collapsed in an alley with a deep sigh, his head resting defeatedly on his paws. He had no idea where he could even find his younger brothers, if they had been taken by a human, or if...
No. He wouldn't allow himself to go there.
"Hey, that's our box!"
Alonzo's head snapped up at the small voice, seeing a young kitten glaring quite fiercely at him, his hackles raised.
The black and white tom immediately stood, shifting away from said box. "I'm sorry, kit. Didn't realize this box belonged to someone."
The little tom hissed, pushing Alonzo with his paw. "Get away! My brother's in there!"
"Alright, I'll move!" Alonzo exclaimed, slightly amused by the young patched tom's intensity. He took a closer look at the little one, and immediately noticed the unique, square-shaped patch on the kitten's eye, and he froze. "Wait... Tumblebrutus?"
The kitten's glare intensified even more, if possible. "How do you know my name?"
Alonzo stepped back, but looked at the kitten, recognizing all the patches, the eyes, the temper. He couldn't help the little smile on his face.
"Come on, kit, you know me." he insisted.
The kitten cocked his head, slowly straightening. "You look familiar."
Alonzo's smile slowly grew as he stepped closer carefully. "I'm your big brother, Tumble. I'm Alonzo."
"Lonzy?"
The whisper was so quiet, so hopefully, it made Alonzo's heart nearly burst.
"Yeah, little brother. It's me." He gave Tumblebrutus a wide, warm grin, sitting down.
Tumblebrutus beamed, jumping forward. "LONZY!"
Alonzo let out a whoosh of air as he was tackled by his younger brother, but he immediately teared up, holding in his cries as he nuzzled Tumblebrutus' head, wrapping his paw around the kitten to pull him closer.
"Brutus, look at you!" he exclaimed, and Tumblebrutus pressed into his chest fur, barely pulling away as he let out another shout.
"Pouncey, it's Lonzy!"
"Lonzy?"
Alonzo let out a small sob as his second younger brother poked his head out of the box, little eyes wide as he recognized the older tom.
"Hey, Pounce." he said softly, reaching out his paw.
Pouncival let out a mewl and darted towards his brothers, barreling into Alonzo's stomach and immediately winding around him, meowing and purring.
Alonzo felt happier than he had ever felt before, laughing as he brought his younger brothers close, furiously grooming them to rid them of some scent of the streets.
"You came back for us?" Pouncival asked, looking up at Alonzo with those big eyes that never ceased to shoot an arrow into the older tom's heart.
"Of course I did, Pouncey." Alonzo said softly. "You two did a good job hiding."
Tumblebrutus puffed up proudly. "I found the spot! Are you gonna stay with us, Lonzy?"
Alonzo chuckled, smoothing down the kitten's fur. "I'm taking you two somewhere safe, where you can have a real home, and food every single day."
"We'll get to stay with you, right?" Tumblebrutus asked, his voice quiet.
"Of course, Brutus." Alonzo replied, drawing his brothers closer once more. "You're not getting rid of me. I'm keeping you two close from now on."
