for me… FOR ME..!!! and for shri’iia specifically the lock in for astarion’s romance is his graveyard scene in act 3.
i think it is too quick for shri’iia to be moving on to another relationship considering her previous one was with her mistress who essentially groomed and isolated her for like … more than hundred years. learning to chase her own desires and not moulding herself to what anyone wants her to be is something so new to her…!!! and something that she’s still learning how to be comfortable with….
and what I like abt romancing astarion with her is that I usually go for the dialogue path in his act 2 confession scene where you can ask him:
- what do YOU want to do?
and he goes like honestly idk what we’re doing but /this/ is nice. it just feels like two people exploring the option to love for the first time and taking things in their own pace rather than jumping straight into the relationship. they’re going at a snails pace… they don’t know what they’re doing but they like this feeling and the vibe and they want to more of it but they’re not ready to commit to anything yet and it’s fine for them …!! and they’re only committing by the end in the graveyard scene where significant time has passed and they’ve learnt a little more about themselves and they’re both more confident about their own desires and also how they want to be loved.
like it is so fitting I think… and sweet… not to mention astarion being a high elf & a vampire and shri’iia being a drow, they have all the time of the world for themselves so I def think they would want to take their time. except if shri’iia turns into a mindflayer or drider by the end then that plan is out the window lol
#now I’m thinking who else I can romance with her .. maybe lae’zel ??#since the thing with her is that she doesn’t get vulnerable in act 1 so the scenes where the romances#are kind of heart to hearts like shadowheart’s or karlach’s (😭😭😭) is out of the question since it doesn’t fit her …#like she’d rather sleep with someone first than actually get to know them 😭 hence astarion and lae’zel …#gale and wyll… I am hmmm about it on one hand her approval with wyll in act 1 is not even high enough 😭😭#and I don’t think she can be sweet enough to chase after him in the party .. she was kind of like ok fine whatever when he said he’s not in#the mood … gale I think can be a contender .. I actually don’t know how his route goes so I’m not sure abt that …#but the thing is … she gets vulnerable LATER ..!! and why astarion’s romance work for her is i hc after their act 2 scene#they’re just in a situationship rather than actual relationship … like they’re dating (yes!) but also dating (hmmmm)#and it’s only in his last scene where they both lock in bc I think that’s enough time for her to process her OWN trauma and also for her#own character development … like she has to learn how to trust (ack!!!!) which is the thing that you don’t do when you’re raised in lolth’s#cult …. and her mistress manipulated her trust too so it’s even more nerve wracking for her bc she doesn’t want someone to have that power#over her again .. but now she has to learn how to give it away freely … without being scared … bites my hand …!!!!#and astarion graveyard scene where he wants to live again vs shri’iia learning how to trust again and trying to live without the fear of#someone betraying you and using you and the paranoia that comes with it … urck urgh goughhhhhh critical hit …#also I have a hc that she actually is quite good at making poisons since her mother sold alchemy herbs and components#and she gives him poison as a courting gift lol .. also like a way to protect him 🤭 but she won’t admit that … she’s like if you want it#take it if you don’t idc 🤷‍♀️ (she does..) i hc that she gets flustered at sincerity actually#their relationship for me is like they’re both two little shits and a general menace to society (both charlatans)#but if they had to hold hands she’d get too flustered too and he’s like honestly what are you a child? (smug face making fun of her)#I have this little comic idea for them when they held hands for the first time and she’s like ouggghhh 😳😮‍💨 flustered and sweating and he’s#like hihi 🤭😎 but then their hands starts to get sweaty and then he’s like ew that’s disgusting and she’s like ok if u hate it let go then#and he’s like no YOU let go 🙄 but they don’t let go now they have to suffer through the sweaty hand holding alas such is fate …

How the Companions Love
Greetings. I have returned, and I am inaugurating opening up asks to BG3 with a post about how the romance options love. Spoilers ahead. - Mod Alistair
Gale: Gale's love is bittersweet. He's loved before, and that love twisted in with his pride and desire for his lover's approval has ended with him here. With a bomb inside him, and getting a message from his once-lover that the only thing that will redeem him is sacrificing himself. He flirts and romances, but part of it is borne of him trying to recapture what he lost with his recklessness. Once he experienced magic with another, beheld the beauty of the world not alone, but side by side with the person who held his heart. Yet in a strange way, he's growing into a far greater love, whether Tav reciprocates his offer of romance, because he gains friendship where he once had none.
Astarion: Astarion loves cautiously. He shows lust easily enough, he's used to being seductive, making himself seem approachable and desirable. But love, emotional intimacy. He struggles, because it's a weakness, and he wants nothing more than to burn all weakness out so that he can never be enslaved again. Yet at the same time, the comfort of love calls to him, and carefully, fearfully, he reaches for it.
Wyll: Wyll loves hopefully. He flirts and acts like a suave hero, but at core, he hopes to find someone he can love who cares as deeply as he does. Who wants to help as much as he does. He tries to take charge and protect when he's unused to being among equals, and being cared for and protected in turn startles him. He hopes for love, but he doesn't expect to be loved back the way he loves.
Lae'zel: Lae'zel's love is uncertain. It's new ground to her, and she's already dealing with uncertainty as her world, both figuratively and literally, has been wrenched out from under her. Love is foreign to her, and she falls back on lust because it's what she knows. But slowly, she takes that step, revealing her emotional desires as she revealed her physical ones. And though she expresses it poorly, she grows to care for those around her, and to find love and kindness as she opens up, and learns more about the world she's in now.
Shadowheart: Shadowheart loves desperately. She yearns for it, and clings to it all the time, even when she feels she shouldn't. Her joy when she believes she's beloved by Shar burns bright. When she steps away from Shar, she falls back on the love and compassion she's experienced through her journey, building her foundation on it, where she once relied on Shar's teachings.
Karlach: Karlach loves passionately. She reaches for the first chance she's had to experience love, and she takes it. She fights to regain the ability to feel physical intimacy that was stolen from her, and drinks in the emotional intimacy she'd been missing for far too long. She relishes in compassion and love when she'd been unable to indulge in either for most of her life. Even when she makes peace with dying soon, because she never wishes to return to where she was enslaved, she devours as much love as she can, wishing to make up for the time she'd lost.
Halsin: Halsin loves freely. Both romantically and in general. He holds kindness, love, and joy close to his heart, and spreads them where he can. He seeks and offers freedom, and loves it for all it is. He's looked into the abyss, and chosen to turn around and embrace the world and people in it.
(I've got nothing for Minthara bc I play good characters. Add on if y'all want.)
Time and time again, the importance of love is repeated throughout Baldur's Gate 3. From the healthy to the toxic, we see love in numerous forms. And especially in our primary companions, we see this lesson over and over: when the world is beating you down, love will help you get back up. And though it's messy, and filled with arguments and disagreement, the group of people trying to find their freedom from a dark fate, and finding love and common ground together, is a deeply beautiful thing.

features I'd like for future bg3 patches:
- manual grouping: [exists!]
sometimes I dont want to move the whole party at once, or split everyone. I would like to have the option to group party members to each other. Like grouping my 2 rogues together because they give each other proximity advantage for sneak attacks, or grouping the melee fighters together, while leading the casters to a save spot where they can attack from above and be save. Something similar is already happening in multiplayer but I would like it for single player aswell (I have been informed this feature already exists and I just didnt know. Very cool)
- scenic spots:
Exactly what it says. I just want spots where I can move the camera more freely and have a good view of something cool or beautiful. It does sound pretty hard to implement though.
- more enemy last words:
I would really like the option to get an additional cutscene or something if I don't kill boss enemies or important npcs in a fight, but instead knock them out in the fight. I was honestly expecting a cutscene after knocking out Gortash or Raphael. Even if it's just them begging for mercy and we have the chance to kill them or to spare them. Banning Raphael from the house of hope and making him aware that you could easily kill him seems more satisfying than just plain killing him and then its over. (Especially because the fight was a bit too easy.) I know this is a lot of effort and the voice actors would have to be up for it aswell so I dont expect much but it would be really cool!
- Zevlor romance.
You heard me.
- illithid memory sharing cutscenes
I'm all for more story cutscenes. We got one for shadowheart and I would absolutely adore seeing other characters backgrounds in visual form. As much as I love the narrators voice I just want to see baby Lae'zel and tiny Wyll. OH young Gale in his mothers kitchen with the bunnies! I have a lot of imagination and visualisation skills, but other people don't and I want them to experience those scenes aswell!
- consequences for using the tadpoles and mindflayer powers
I used the mindflayer tadpole powers ONCE in my entire playthrough. Didn't put any more tadpoles into my head. I was a bit bummed out when I found out there were no consequences for using/not using them. Seems like the final fight should be harder the more tadpoles have made Tav's little pond of a brain their home.
- manual insight and perception checks
This one is not going to happen but I would like to have it anyway. In DnD I'd sometimes ask/get asked "what do I see?/Do I believe them?/Can I use an action to check the room for anything like traps etc before entering?" Some of that is already happening automatically but I would like to have the option to manually trigger it ONCE every scene/location. Not once per character. Just one check, no reroll.
- access companion inventory
this might already be possible but I'd like the option to access the inventory of companions who aren't on my team currently. It would be incredibly helpful for un-/equipping items when a character isnt on your team currently. maybe the solution to this would be items being stored in a chest when the companion isn't in your team. a chest that is bound to their camp, cant be destroyed or moved etc. and once they join your team youll have to reequip them BUT they'll already have all their stuff right there? idk how hard it would be to implement the auto reequip option when you have the companion join your team
- give Karlach a good ending dammit
She deserves to be happy and I know you can go to Avernus with her but you have to leave your love interest behind unless you romances Wyll and that sucks so much ass.
What would you like to see in future patches? What do you think won't ever happen but you'd wish to see anyway?

Astarion/Gale bloodweave.
Gale has a gift for Astarion. SFW. Part 1 of ??.
Astarion had told Gale that he misses to admire his own face in a mirror. Petty vanity, Astarion has said back then, it feels like years ago.
It's been just a few weeks, maybe a whole month? Gale has lost track of time since the... ilithid abduction. And back then Gale had thought Astarion was just being dramatic, fishing for compliments, asking Gale directly what did he see whenever he looks at the vampire. Gale was taken aback then, both because Astarion is breathtaking in his ethereal beauty, his fangs a constant reminder of his dangerous nature... and because Gale had to face then the awkward truth that he was, indeed, developing intense feelings for the pale elf.
Gale praised Astarion that night, called him beautiful, and winced when Astarion seemed unimpressed by his words, no matter how much Gale tried to wax poetics about Astarion.
Now, Gale can read through Astarion cold, nonchalant facade. Now, Gale takes in every microexpression the vampire does, how his eyes flick quickly, taking in his surroundings, ready to flee or fight whenever he feels some kind of threat upon him.
Now, reaching Baldur's Gate, the tadpole still firmly and cozy nestled in their brains, with Gale's fate over his head like Damocles' sword... now, the wizard decides that he can spend his last nights on Faerun spoiling his favorite brat, the man that has raptured his heart.
"Gale, darling," Astarion calls, dragging every syllabe lazily, sighing dramatically. "What are you doing all by yourself in this ruined cabin?"
Gale shakes his head, amused. Astarion's voice send shiver down his spine, reminiscence of the dream-like nights they spent together, when Astarion still believed he had to use his body to keep Gale entertained.
"Ugh, this is so disgusting, oh look, a dead rat... What a waste... Gale? Are you playing hide and seek? Where are you, sweetheart?"
"I'm on the second floor, Astarion," Gale answers, unable to contain his smile.
"Gods, why? Come here, darling, I miss your face."
Gale does not giggle, he's an ass grown up man and he does not giggle, but he can't stop his cheeks from burning red. Of course, Gale obliges.
"What are you doing up there, dear?"
"I was just... meditating," Gale says, because he's scared to admit that he needed some alone time to psych himself to do what he's going to do now.
"Sure, alright," Astarion says, eyeing Gale with his head tilted up defiantly. "You missed dinner, I saved you some cheese and dry saussages, and bread, and that wine you fancy."
Astarion says, shrugging, as if does this for everyone everyday. As if this doesn't matter. Gale's heart does a mortal jump at this freely given love demonstration, and he's sure the vampire can hear how fast his blood rush thorugh his veins right now.
"Dinner, sure, thank you, beloved," Gale says, unaware of how the endearment falls from his lips until Astarion's face does that small wince, how his pupils blown, swallowing the red of his irises.
"Gale..."
"I have something for you," Gale blurts out. "I... could we find somewhere more intimate?"
Astarion seizes him up with his red wine eyes. Nods minutely. Astarion trusts Gale, knows Gale won't betray him, nor force him to do something Astarion is not ready yet. Gale would rather die to betray Astarion, and leaving the tray of food behind, Gale takes Astarion's cold hand and together they walk until Gale deems the landscape good enough for his gift to Astarion.

Act II, Chapter 6 - The Talk
You were in a daze as everyone ate and planned the next few days. It would take a full day to pack, travel, and find another camping spot within the Gauntlet. From there, the others could freely explore the dark temple of Shar without having to traipse all the way back to the Inn.
Karlach and Wyll had a quiet conversation with Arabella, who had been by Withers’ side this whole time, and somehow, they convinced her to stay at the inn with the other tieflings for the time being, at least until they returned. You overheard the girl saying something about Withers telling her to let the Weave guide her, and while you were a bit concerned, you remembered that you, too, left home all on your own at a young age. Though not as young as her.
As the others finished up and headed back to their tents to relax, you bid your friends good night and wandered over to the water’s edge. While you stared out into the dark horizon, your thoughts slowly working themselves out, you heard Astarion’s steps coming closer. You knew that he was purposely making himself heard so he wouldn’t startle you, and part of you appreciated his consideration. Another part of you was concerned about what he might say next.
“You left my tent.”
You turned around. “You…had a book that was creeping me out.”
He tipped his head. “Is that the only reason?”
You nodded.
Astarion stared at you for a moment more, but finally shrugged. “Alright. I'll tuck it away so you can't see it.”
Is he assuming that I'm coming back to his tent?
While you tried to figure out his angle, he sighed. “Are you going to be alright out in the open?”
“I should be.” You stepped a bit closer and lowered your voice. “But if my seal hurts again, I'll let you know.”
He nodded. “Good, see that you do,” he said a bit imperiously.
Aw, he is worried. “Yes, your majesty,” you teased, faking a curtsey.
He straightened his stance. “At least you know your place,” he sneered.
Raising an eyebrow, you crossed your arms and stared at him. “And where does that put you?”
His smirk disappeared as he stepped a bit closer. “Right beside you.”
You blinked and looked away. Gods, the whiplash this man gives me. “Don’t know why you’d want to be there.”
“Easier access to your neck, for one,” he retorted. “And easier to keep an eye on you.”
“I don’t need looking after.”
“Oh? And who was it that asked for help the other day?”
“Extenuating circumstances.”
He put his hand on his hip and cocked his head. “Really. Would it kill you to admit that you can’t always take care of yourself?”
“It might. I may drop dead for all you know.”
“Well, we can’t have that,” he said, dramatically tipping his head. He playfully put the back of his hand against his forehead. “Whatever would I do if I couldn’t take a sip of my favorite vintage?”
Your mouth twitched. Oh no. Don’t laugh, you’ll only encourage him.
He smirked before faking a frown. “My heart would just shatter if I could never taste my beloved treat again.”
You held back a snort.
“My tongue would cry—”
“Fine, fine!” you cried out, exasperated. “I’ll admit it, I can’t always take care of myself.”
He waited a few seconds before poking you in the cheek. “And yet you live.” He tipped his head, a sly grin on his face. “Curious.”
“I may have been a bit…” You gestured anxiously with your hands, trying to find the right word.
“Dramatic, darling?”
You rolled your eyes. “Yes,” you sighed. “But only a bit.”
Astarion hummed, clearly not believing you.
You turned to stare at the water again, taking a deep breath. “Suppose I should get some rest,” you finally said.
He nodded, looking at you quietly for a few moments, as if he was waiting for you to say something more.
“Do… you want me to come back to your tent?”
A pause. “Only if you want to, my dear.”
You suddenly felt a wave of shyness. “I think I’ll stay outside tonight. It’ll be the last time I sleep under the open sky for a while, I wager.”
He nodded. “Of course.” Stepping back and giving you a slight bow, he bid you sweet dreams and walked towards his own tent, alone.
Part of you longed to follow him. Another part of you was anxious. You liked it better when things were more straightforward, when he was just another traveling companion. Now he was… special to you.
Are my feelings obvious? Am I making him uncomfortable?
You shook your head and walked back to your bedroll. There wasn’t time for this. Tomorrow was going to be a big day, traveling to a new location, a dangerous one.
Slowly, you fell into a fitful sleep. You could have sworn you felt a cool touch against your cheek sometime during the night, but you chalked that up to wishful thinking.
***
You awoke when you heard the soft footsteps of your companions attempting to break down camp without disturbing your slumber. Quietly, you got up and got ready along with them.
“We can handle most of this,” Karlach said. “You don’t have to push yourself.”
You glanced at Astarion and Lae’zel, who had already broken down their tents and started taking their packs to the floating disc. Turning to the others, you nodded. “Don’t worry about me, I’m feeling better already. Let’s get a move on.”
Soon the camp was packed and ready to go. You had placed your pack on the floating disc, although you longed to carry it yourself. It wasn’t that you didn’t trust the disc, you just felt better having your items close at hand. But everyone else left their packs on there, so why shouldn’t you? Paranoia, clearly.
The boy, Thaniel, stayed close to Halsin. “We will stay here until you return,” the archdruid said. He glanced at Thaniel, who still seemed weak, though he could stand on his own two feet.
You nodded. “I’ll go with the others to this… Gauntlet. See you when we return.”
***
As you approached the Grand Mausoleum, a familiar figure stood in the shadows, like he was waiting for you. He stepped out onto the path, a sly, slimy smirk on his face.
You instantly stepped forward, prepared to shield Astarion from his diabolical schemes.
The devil stared at you, one eyebrow raised, piqued by your unusual behavior. “Oh?” Raphael said, his voice like oil along your skin. “And here I was going to offer your beau a most enticing deal.”
“He’s not my—”
Astarion stepped forward, and when you looked up at him, his expression was that of determination. You knew better than to get in the way, so you shut up and let them talk it out. Kill one devil, get the answers he sought. With the deal done, Raphael disappeared, and the others looked at Astarion.
“So we just kill one devil and you find out about your scars?” Karlach asked.
He nodded.
“Sounds almost too easy,” you muttered.
“Easy?” Astarion asked incredulously. “Can you kill a devil?”
You shook your head. “I can’t, but I’m sure all of you together can.”
Karlach cocked her head. “You know something.”
Tapping your foot, you slowly spoke, unsure about your half-formed theories. “I can think of only two reasons why Raphael would divulge this information for a lower price. One, it will trouble another devil for Astarion to know. Or two, it will cause Astarion more pain somehow...”
Everyone glanced at Astarion.
He only shrugged. “Well, it can’t be that bad. Let’s worry about that later. We have a devil to kill.”
***
Reithwin Town was gloomy, the Mausoleum was gloomier, but the Gauntlet of Shar was the gloomiest by far. However, you kept your opinion to yourself once you saw Shadowheart’s face, so filled with awe.
As magnificent as these sculptures and edifices are, I’d rather have the open sky over my head and the land beneath my feet.
After a bit of scouting around, and some dangerous puzzles that the others faced while you hung back, guarding the floating disc, your companions found a caved-in pathway that led down to a forgotten hall that was mostly free of vermin and corpses. It overlooked a large statue of Shar on one end and a waterfall on the other, with water running through it all. You helped to clean the space and set up the communal fire pit while the others unpacked and built their tents. Picking the center of a circle inlaid on the stone floor, you gathered rubble from around the site and made a rather nice looking fire pit, alternating the grey stone with some purple marble you had found fallen from a column nearby.
“Quite the nice colors you’ve picked,” Shadowheart said as she joined you, some firewood in her arms.
“Where did you find that?”
She shrugged. “Some old furniture in another part of the temple was partly smashed, so Gale and I went and salvaged it.”
You grinned. “You and Gale, hm?”
“Don’t,” she warned, though she had a small smile as she placed the wood into the pit and started arranging it with more care than was necessary.
“I won’t say any more,” you promised, lowering your voice. “But… please tell me you’re going to stop him from using his orb.”
She frowned. “I… understand his devotion to his goddess. I have the same feeling for Shar. It’d be selfish of me to stop him from doing what he feels is right.”
“Are you sure that’s what he wants, though?”
Shadowheart gave you a pained look. “I… I’m not sure.”
You reached out and put your hand over hers, sensing her anxiety. “What do you want?”
Her face crumpled for a moment before she put on a determined expression. “I want him to live.”
“Then tell him.”
“It’s not that simple.”
“Why not?”
“I—”
“What are you two ladies whispering about?”
You both turned to see Gale, his arms also full of salvaged wood, walking towards the two of you.
“Meal plans,” you said, waving your hand dismissively as you stood up and took the pile of wood from his arms. “I can take care of this, if you two want to finish setting up your tents.” You nodded towards their tents, half finished, their items stacked in one large pile between them. It seemed like someone had a hand in distributing items and had purposely mixed their things together.
I bet Astarion did this.
Gale turned to Shadowheart. “Well, guess we better re-organize this mess,” he said, gesturing towards the pile. “After you.”
She gave him a wry smile and together they walked away. You hoped that she would talk to him about the orb. There has to be another way.
You prepared a meager meal from the perishables that you had carried here; after a couple of days, you’d be reduced to using camp rations. As you ate with everyone else, you listened to them plan their strategy for the next day. Your eyes wandered around for a moment, noting that someone was missing.
“Astarion went to trance in his tent,” Karlach said. “He offered to take second shift tonight.”
You felt a little embarrassed at having been caught looking for him. “Ah, thank you for telling me.”
“He also said something about letting everyone else figure out the details, and to just point him where to stab someone.”
“Of course. Not much for thinking, is he?” Shadowheart snarked.
“Certainly not one for being cautious when it’s warranted,” Gale added.
“Alright, we know he’s not… detail-oriented,” you said, taking over the conversation. “Am I taking first shift?”
“I will,” Lae’zel said. “This place makes me… wary.”
You saw Shadowheart’s brow furrow. Sensing an argument brewing, you quickly said, “We’ll leave it in your capable hands then.” Turning to everyone else, you brightly asked, “Does anyone need their tent prepared?”
“Are you able to?” Shadowheart said, her attention turning towards you.
Thank the gods I steered her away from arguing with Lae’zel. “I can try.”
Everyone frowned.
“I won’t push myself, I promise.”
“I think I’ll be fine,” Shadowheart finally said after a moment.
The others mumbled something along the same lines. You knew they were trying to be considerate of your health, and you appreciated it.
Still.
“Guess I’ll just warm up my own bedroll, then,” you muttered.
“You’re not staying with Astarion?”
Everyone looked at Karlach, including yourself. Your mouth was agape.
“I didn’t mean it like that,” she said defensively before grinning. “Well, maybe I did mean it like that, but you’ve stayed with him before!”
You stood up. “It was raining that one time, and the second time he pulled my bedroll in there without my consent!”
“To be fair, you were very injured,” Gale said, ever the voice of reason.
“He just wanted to take care of his food resource,” Shadowheart muttered.
Rolling your eyes, you marched over to your bedroll and in a fit of childish immaturity, sang your cantrip to warm up your bedroll, just to show how much better you were feeling. You got halfway through the song before your throat tightened and your body decided that a nice little coughing fit would teach you a lesson.
Karlach was suddenly beside you with a waterskin, patting you on the back. “I’m sorry,” she murmured.
You gulped down the water and handed it back to her. Waving your hand dismissively, you shook your head. “It’s fine, I’m just stubborn.”
“Aren’t we all,” she said with a smile. “You have to take better care of yourself. Otherwise how else are you going to take care of us?”
You laughed. “C’mere, you.” Giving her a big hug, you felt better being embraced by your friend.
The evening went on, and as everyone turned in for the night, you crawled into your bedroll by the campfire and closed your eyes, lulled to sleep by the rush of the waterfall.
***
You were awoken by light conversation and the smell of breakfast, a light porridge with some spices and honey. Sitting up, you saw that Gale was slowly stirring the pot, testing its contents with a thoughtful expression before shaking in a little more cinnamon.
“Smells good,” you said as you got out of your bedroll and pulled it aside to make room for people to sit around the fire.
“I’ve been known to putter around the kitchen now and again,” he said with a not-so-humble grin. “Figure I’d give you a hand while you recover.”
“I’m almost better.”
“Almost being the key term.”
You rolled your eyes. “Such a worrywort.”
“A bit of caution—”
“—will save a lot of trouble, we know,” Shadowheart said as she came up to the two of you.
You noticed her putting her hand on Gale’s shoulder, and caught Gale giving her a very tender look before turning back to the porridge. You met Shadowheart’s eyes and waggled your eyebrows.
She immediately took her hand off his shoulder and looked away shyly.
Hah.
One by one, the others came out of their tents and sat around the campfire to eat and plan the day. They were going to explore this level of the temple and map out where they needed to go. If they ran into a devil, they’d try to stay hidden until they could learn more about him. Just as they were beginning to arm themselves to get ready to leave, Karlach spoke up.
“Who’s staying behind on guard duty today?”
“Guard duty?” you asked.
“We’re not in the safety of Isobel’s shield anymore,” Wyll reminded you. “At least one of us should stay with you and the others, keep the camp safe.”
You glanced at Owly & Scratch who had followed you despite you telling them to stay with Halsin, and Withers, who had appeared overnight. Damn, maybe Halsin should have come with us… but then he’d have to bring Thaniel too, and he just got free from the Shadowfell. Being within a temple of Shar probably wouldn’t help his constitution.
“I can,” Astarion said.
You and the others stared at him in various states of surprise.
“What? I’m not going to eat her,” he said defensively.
“We know that. It’s more that you’re usually so eager to go out and stab something,” Shadowheart said.
Astarion shrugged, but didn’t elaborate.
“Well, if you’re sure,” she finally said.
You watched everyone leave, waiting a few minutes before you set up the alarm wire. Your powers were slowly returning, and you could do a few small chores, taking breaks in between songs, but at least you finally felt like you were becoming whole once more. It had been hard to not sing, to not even hum.
Meanwhile, Astarion seemed to be staying in front of his tent, reading that strange book and muttering to himself. You wanted no part in it and just let him sit and read, though even glancing at that tome for a mere moment made you shiver.
He’s a grown man, he can read strange books if he wants to.
He eventually slammed the book shut and hid it away in his tent before taking out another book to read.
So he’s just staying here because he wants to read?
You continued your chores, and during a short break, you ended up staring out over the edge of the balcony where the giant Shar statue stood, watching the rushing water below. After a while, you heard Astarion’s footsteps behind you before he paused, and then took two steps more before stopping beside you.
Is he going to suggest we train with daggers again? I probably need to, it’s been a while.
He cleared his throat. “Do you have a moment? I think we need to talk.”
You turned towards him, the nervous timbre in his voice worrying you. He was frowning, almost as if he was in pain. Your hackles went up immediately.
“Are you alright?” you asked as you reached out to him and touched his arm. Guilt radiated from him in waves and you immediately dropped your hand. “What did you do?” you asked before you could stop yourself.
“Nothing terrible, I just”—he froze for a moment—“well, perhaps a little terrible.”
You stared at him, waiting for him to confess. He stared out at the waterfall beyond for a few moments before finally turning back to you, his eyes expressive with a sincerity that you had never seen from him before.
“Look, I had a plan. A nice, simple plan. Seduce you, manipulate your feelings for me so you wouldn’t turn on me.”
You raised an eyebrow at him, but you quietly let him continue as he gesticulated nervously.
“It was easy. Instinctive. Habits from two hundred years of charming people kicked in. All you had to do was fall for it.”
He tipped his head. “But you didn’t fall for it.” He let out a sigh. He suddenly looked so, so vulnerable. “Instead”—he paused, clearing his throat awkwardly—“I fell for you.”
Your eyes widened at his confession.
“My nice, simple plan fell apart, all because of you. You’re… a complication I didn’t see coming.”
Your head was spinning. But you had questions. “Why choose me in the first place?”
“People don’t trust vampires, perhaps understandably, so I needed to get someone on my side. I thought you would be the easiest to seduce, frankly.”
You scowled.
“You seemed naive, sweet, kind. Easily swayed by a few honeyed words.”
You scowled more.
“So imagine how stupid I felt when I started to”—he gestured helplessly—”genuinely feel something for you.” Astarion sheepishly smiled. “Trust me, I was not happy about it.”
You snorted, but smiled back at him. “Well, to be fair…” You bit your lower lip, took a breath to steady your nerves. “I care about you as well. More than I'd like to admit."
He blinked. "Really?" he asked quietly.
"I'm not pleased about it either, mind you," you said with a wry smile, unable to stop yourself from teasing him.
He smirked. “I suppose that makes two of us.” Then he held out his hand to you. "Honestly, I don't know what we're doing. Or what comes next."
You took his hand. "Neither do I."
He held your hand with both of his as he took a step closer to you, a warm smile, a genuine smile, on his lips. "But I know that this?” He leaned down and pressed his forehead to yours. “This is nice."
It truly was. You felt his feelings through his touch so openly that you wanted to cry. It was like a new bud in the spring, tender, delicate, but with so much potential to grow. And you would be the soil that held him up, you would be the sunlight that fed his spirit, you would be the rain that kept him from withering away.
You would care for him, come what may.

Act II, Chapter 6 End notes: Oh shit, this is NOT a drill, Astarion finally confessed! Y’all have no idea how many times I rewrote that conversation, to make it more custom to Hearth Witch, but also keep it true to that infamous confession scene that the fans love. I hope you all enjoyed it, please let me know in the comments!

Thinking about Wyll and how his story fits into the over-all themes of freedom vs power...
Already his backstory is a bit of a subversion of that because, while he willingly (kinda) gave his freedom up to Mizora in exchange for power, it was distinctly not for his own gain or in pursuit of his own ambitions. It was because he was a teenager who loved his city, who saw that it was in danger, and knew he couldn't save it without sacrificing himself for it. And in doing so he lost his only family and his entire support system for years, cast out of the very city he had just saved. He kept his loved ones free by putting his own head on the block.
At the beginning of the game he has to make a choice about whether or not he is going to again sacrifice his freedom, in some form or fashion, for a tiefling he doesn't know. And either he does, and is punished for it, or doesn't, and that tiefling never gets to be free from her captors (at least, not while she's breathing).
And in the third Act he has to make an impossible choice that, once again, puts his freedom and the freedom of someone he loves in direct opposition. And he can choose the power, creating an eternal pact and damning himself to the Hells so his father is guaranteed freedom and safety, either for that reason alone or for ambitions he has gained throughout the story. Or he can choose his own freedom, either to be free of his past burdens or to pursue power in other areas more freely (if I remember correctly), and supposedly seal his father's fate. Once again, he cannot be free without someone else suffering for it and vice versa.
Except that's not the case. Not this time. It is possible for Wyll to save his father, and he now has the strength and connections to ensure his safety long-term despite Mizora's scheming. His freedom does not guarantee the destruction of someone or something else.
And then he decides where he's going to go afterwards. Either back to the Hells, doing a work he has been proud of despite its origins but free from his patron. Or he can remain in Baldur's Gate as Duke, gaining power over and security through the city he loves but being chained to obligation and politics, making "bedfellows" of people who espouse beliefs and goals he finds diametrically opposed to his own morals ("my father calls it diplomacy; I call it hypocrisy"). The only difference to the previous choices being that choosing one path will not doom the other. He can do a lot of good as Duke, but returning to the Hells allows him the hands-on approach he thrives in as well as being able to directly help his friend regain her freedom. Becoming Duke could freeze him out of being the Blade of Avernus, but that's not necessarily true the other way around; after all, there will eventually be a nasty war wound or a situation in the city that calls him home.

B/G/3 Snz Head Cannons pt 1 Bois
Writing horn at work because that’s what you do when you’re an adult waiting on emails right??
Snz headcanons for b/g/3 characters let’s gooooooo (in parts because tumblr has decided word count matters rip)
Astarion
Photonic sneezer for sure
Beyond that I think his nose is much more sensitive now than it was when he was alive so being out in the wilds I think made him an absolute sniffly mess for the first few days
After the initial shock of being in the wide open world I think the sensitivity to strong florals sticks with him.
Usually sneezes in doubles but sometimes threes when he’s really irritated
Covers with steepled hands or tries desperately to stifle
Is REALLY bad at stifling
I feel very strongly about this - his voice gets deeper when he sneezes/is congested
Like we know when he’s quiet and genuine his voice gets a bit deeper and less performative
And I imagine he’s shit at changing how his sneezes sound so they’ve gotta be deep in his chest
Typically follows up with a dazed, ‘excuse me’
Expects to be blessed and will be pouty about it if he’s ignored
If vampires could get sick he would make it everyone’s problem
But be lowkey embarrassed about it if a partner was genuinely worried and doting on him
Gale
This man always has a handkerchief on him
Compulsive stifler even before the orb but after the orb it becomes even worse
Ignore his high con score this man gets sick often and it’s always a stuffy head cold situation
Does that thing where he keeps his handkerchief balled up under his nose while he reads/writes to keep it from dribbling.
Is an expert at covering sneezes but on the off chance he didn’t feel one coming he gets super flustered about it
King of the stuck sneeze and he’s mostly okay with that - if it doesn’t come out he can’t blow up lol
Once he’s cured of the orb the first time he catches a cold it’s the sneeziest cold he’s ever had and he lowkey forgets that he can sneeze freely until his partner or a well meaning friend gently points it out (or points it out like an asshole if you’re like that or Astarion lol)
His natural sneezes are loud and always comes in fits, like never one or two
Apologizes every single time
Cannot hold a conversation in the midst of a fit but will try
Doesn’t really have allergies but will occasionally get stuffy voice if he spends too long in the archives
Halsin
This man has never covered a sneeze in his goddamn life okay?
Will blow his nose into his hand if he’s out in the woods and will flick the mess onto the ground before wiping his hand on his thigh
Loud sneezes but not quite atomic bomb levels of loud
Almost always at least a little bit of visible spray
Gets really bad itchy fall allergies every year and knows exactly which genus of plant causes it (will weaponize this fact for a partner who has the kink)
Sneezes mainly in singles but when it’s allergies it’s always doubles
Doesn’t expect blessings but will gladly take them
Usually directs the blast down or away from others if they’re around
Openly acknowledges that he likes sneezing ‘It’s a natural process and it feels quite nice I think’
Being a healer means he’s aware of contagion and how it works but doesn’t think much of his own sneezes until it’s too late
Yes he’s built like a brickhouse and yes he does work himself too damn hard - he also loves being taken care of by a partner
Has been known to induce unprompted because he ‘just wants to hurry things along’ whore
Wyll
Baby boy has the most expressive nose in existence
He always describes sneezes as tickly or buzzy when he’s congested
Comments on his sneezes all the time
Hitchy and gasping breaths into every sneeze
King of build ups, cannot have a sneeze without at least five seconds of warning
Covers every single time but can never find his hanky so it’s usually hands or elbow
Will ask to borrow your handkerchief and will give it right back after decimating it with a blow
Tries to stifle but is really bad at it and it just makes him sneeze more
Sneezes in threes and fours but occasionally sneezes only once
Dust and pollen sensitivity
Every cold starts in his chest but settles in his nose for weeks after
Will breathily remind you he’s not contagious as a sneeze rips through him.
Can be loud or soft but are always drawn out
Doesn’t want to admit he loves being taken care of but it does melt him on the inside
Gets really teary when he sneezes and will make jokes about it to deflect his embarrassment
Very aware of germs and contagion but still manages to catch every bug that goes through his friend groups
Gets disappointed if he’s not blessed after a sneeze

hi it’s almost 2am but I can’t stop thinking about this so here’s how I think the (romanceable) bg3 companions would cuddle with someone at night. feel free to imagine your tav/durge in these scenarios and kick your feet about it.
Wyll:
he likes to sleep on his back (one arm behind his head propping him up, very attractive, gentlemanly) while you use his chest as a pillow. he’ll wrap an arm around your shoulders, use that hand to rub your back, stroke your hair, and generally dote on you as he literally whispers poetry to you or even sings you to sleep. type of guy to admire your bleary-eyed face when you wake up and say “good morning, sleeping beauty”.
Halsin:
okay you’re getting one of two things here. either you get spooned from behind in the world’s biggest, strongest bear hug ever, (and yes your ass is pulled FLUSH with his hips), or you’re getting a much more literal bear hug and you get to use his sleeping cave bear form as a fluffy heated pillow. either way, you are going to feel the absolute warmest and safest you ever have in your life. the only downside is that he DOES snore and it IS the loudest noise in the entire world.
Lae’zel:
she refuses to participate in such an undignified activity as “cuddling”, but she WILL protectively sit by you and keep watch as you sleep. half of it is truly her way of showing love by looking out for you while you’re vulnerable, and the other half is secretly an excuse to freely admire your face and form without feeling the need to hide it. (she’s a sweetheart <3).
Gale:
this isn’t even that related to the cuddling but the very first thing on my mind is GALE. READING. TO. YOU. oh boy it’s happening whether you want it or not. he’s either reading a book, telling a story, or extensively infodumping on whatever random topic has hooked him that night. plus, he loves listening when you do the same thing in return! as far as actual cuddling goes, I picture him being either similar to Wyll - sort of on his back and letting you use him as a pillow - OR lying with his head in your lap, letting you pet his hair like he’s a tressym cat, happily listening to you talk until you both fall asleep. he also snores, and though it isn’t nearly as loud as Halsin, you SWEAR you have literally heard him go “snork mimimi” but nobody in camp believes you.
Shadowheart:
sometimes teases you about cuddling but actually thinks you’re so fucking adorable for it and truly enjoys cuddling you. tbh I don’t really have any strong ideas about her actual cuddling style but I can imagine her being open to most things, especially face to face type cuddling where you just gaze into each other’s eyes and snuggle up close. she often likes to make cuddling flirty, wrapping an arm around your waist and confidently pulling you closer until you’re within kissing range….
Karlach:
pre-engine fix? DESPERATELY wants to cuddle you. oh my god she wants to spoon you so fucking bad. she is practically weeping because she can’t cuddle you. instead she’ll settle for just being your personal proximity space heater until she can actually touch you. when that day finally comes though? absolute snuggle bug. all over you. LOVES spooning, especially engulfing you in her arms as a crushing big spoon, but she will love to cuddle in any way you please. on the rare occasion she acts as the little spoon, she’ll cuddle Clive while you cuddle her <3.
Astarion:
full-on cuddling can be a little too much for him (especially when it’s not centered around sex), but what he does like to do is just… lie very close together, facing each other. just waking up and seeing you resting across from him does wonders to reassure and soothe him during his sleepless nights. and if sometimes, after he jolts awake from a nightmare, if his hand should dart out to squeeze yours, well…. you never comment on your entangled fingers in the morning. (also, in a world where he’s almost fully healed and deeply comfortable, he’s a little spoon <3).
I would do Minthara but I’m ngl I have not done a playthrough with miss girl yet so I don’t know enough about her </3 if anyone has ideas for her tho feel free to drop them I’d love to hear it!! I feel like she would be similar to Lae’zel but idk….
also if anyone wants to hear ideas about any non-companion or non-romanceable homies I’d be happy to share my thoughts I love thinking about cuddle headcanons :)))

My love, are you the devil? (Oh, call me a devil)
Chapter 3 | Words: 2k
Summary: Astarion found himself often surprised by his heroic companion. He had one goal. To become the favoured companion of the group, to earn the Tieflings loyalty, to make Tar'eons strength his own. Yet Tar'eon isn't like the usual target of his manipulations. Despite his naivety, he does not seem gullible. There is something very wrong with their 'leader' to begin with. Astarion isn't sure if he wants to control it or eradicate the threat it posed. But can he really do either when Tar'eon himself seems so...unwaveringly kind?
That devil is getting into his head, while others get into Tar'eons. He doesn't appreciate not having the upperhand after years of being at the disadvantage. He will find a way to make him see.
He is the one he should be listening to. Astarion would make it so, no matter the means.

Karlach had much fussing to do over the bard, remarking on the flayed skin. Lae'zel simply remarked on missing the ritual, looking annoyed.
Shadowheart's help was yet again refused, so she huffed off to her tent, playing with her artefact like she did most nights. Astarion stalked back to his own tent to read, watching from a distance as Wyll sat by the fire with Tar'eon, the pair looking deep conversation.
Astarion wished to listen in, yet not, all at once. It was only as Wyll stood up that his superior hearing forced him to listen in.
"Just promise me you won't rely on such methods again to deal with these feelings. We're all stuck in this together. At the very least...you may always talk to me. I may understand more than you would realise." His hand was on Tar'eons shoulder, his eyes soft in the firelight, and Astarion couldn't help but scowl. He was digging his pompous claws further and further into Tar'eon while he simply sat here.
How long until he was the only one without Tar'eons loyalty? His freely given affection? How long until he was too much a burden to keep on the team? Wyll, the Blade, how long until he wriggled into Tar'eons mind, as infectious as the parasite, and convinced him Astartion was too much of a liability to the team, to him?
Tar'eon had given him a gift. Given him blood. And he had nothing to give in return. He had to get on equal footing with him, and quickly. He needed Tar'eon to trust him completely. Or Wyll would get in his head before he could.
"Thank you, Wyll." Tar'eon placed his hand on top of Wyll's and smiled, completely disarmed before the man. But Astarion noted that he did not promise anything. Wyll, he hadn't noticed at all, walking away to his tent.
Astarion slunk out from the shadows of his dark tent and took the spot beside Tar'eon on the bedroll. Closer than he needed to be, but he wanted Tar'eon to grow accustomed to it.
"That was quite a show. The ritual."
"You enjoyed it, I'm guessing?" Tar'eon mused.
"What can I say? I'm a vampire. I enjoy watching things bleed. I'm disappointed you made us camp in this dreary place instead of letting us continue." He put on a pout, but his mind had been itching all day with one question.
He shifted closer, chin upon his shoulder and head tilted so he could look up at the tiefling.
"Tell me...why did you kill those goblins?"
"The ones near the bridge, or the ones inside the sanctum?" Tar'eon tilted his head to match Astarion, watching him with curious eyes. Like he was trying to figure him out. Good. The more he thought about him, the better success rate of his ascension through the ranks of this party.
"Oh, I would have killed the ones near the bridge if you hadn't. Asking us to smear shit on our faces? The disrespect..." He sneered. "No, I mean the ones in the sanctum. Why did you kill them?"
His piercing red eyes grew with intensity, trying to worm the answer from the tiefling.
"And why won't you tell me what they said?"
Tar'eon looked uncomfortable, glancing away.
"...They insulted you. I don't appreciate others insulting my friends."
"That's- that's it? They insulted me?" Astarion looked at him, like he didn't believe him and was no longer amused by his fantastic lying skills.
"Yes."
"So...what? You'll cut down anyone who looks at me wrong?" Astarion scoffed with a laugh.
"Yes." It was said with such sincerity, that even Astarion had to believe it true. His lips parted in shock, unsure how to response as he leaned back from Tar'eon. He missed his heat almost instantly; the man ran like a furnace. But he couldn't fathom his answer.
Here he had been, so sure the man would need coaxing to protect him, yet he was stating his loyalty clearly. With no hesitation.
"...Well. I'm flattered. I hadn't realised I had enthralled you so easily." He chuckled, looking to the fire as to avoid in eyes. He could feel his gaze nonetheless though.
Tar'eon placed a hand on his shoulder and Astarion's first reaction was to bristle, to hiss, but then Tar'eon caught his narrowed eyes and he forced his expression to smooth, to soften, to seem more agreeable than he was at heart. Tar'eon lowered his hand to his lap and stared into his eyes a long moment, long enough to make Astarion feel self conscious. He wondered if perhaps he was reading his mind, sorting through it without his knowledge. How ironic it would be, to have it that Tar'eon could both lock him out yet traverse so freely through his thoughts.
His whole life had been defined by everyone else having the advantage, and him the disadvantage. He refused to not have the upperhand with this man.
"...If I do not have the conviction to protect you all, I'm afraid I may lose myself to...urges I cannot fathom."
"So you don't do this out of the goodness of your heart? Fighting alongside us?" He smirked. "You do it to...what? Keep your moral compass?"
"Can I not have more than one reason to want to protect you?"
"Us."
"You, also."
"Yes, but you're singling me out." He bit the words out, frustrated by the casualness of his declaration. "Why?"
"Because out of all of us...I feel you need my protection the most." He admitted, and Astarion felt anger rush up the back of his neck, hot and bothersome.
So he saw him as weak. Fine. Let him. As long as he pitied him, he would still be placed on a pedestal. He would still be above the others, would he not? He was Cazador's favourite, even if he made every day feel like the Hells. He could humiliate himself to survive. He'd done far worse in order to survive Cazador, after all. At least Tar'eon had no intent on flaying others, even if he subjecated himself to it.
"Well...I think I'll turn in. Maybe go for a late night snack beforehand. The goblins have chickens nearby, don't they?"
"I thought we agreed you wouldn't be hunting anymore." Tar'eon frowned. Astarion looked at him like he was stupid. Sometimes he wondered, but he was much too quick witted and persuasive to be.
"I'm afraid the dinner I planned on having go himself beaten, quite bloodily. Do you really think you could survive my hunger right now?" Astarion stood, his body outlined by the fire and his expression shadowed, by the glint of red eyes was enough for Tar'eon to know he was smirking. That low voice...
Astarion was goading him, wasn't he?
"I could certainly try."
Astarion shook his head and grinned.
"Your funeral." It could be, and Astarion found it amusing. He wouldn't kill him though. If he did, there was ways to bring him back. But he'd prefer not to waste something like that on something so trivial. "Lay back."
Tar'eon looked at him like he was the stupid one this time and Astarion was reminded of his ruined back. He rolled his eyes.
"Fine. On your front. Just don't be surprised if I decide to keep you there." He teased, but Tar'eon simply frowned, looking confused by his words before he laid down on his front with a soft groan.
...Good, Gods, was Tar'eon actually a maiden? Though, he had mentioned once that he has no memory of his past. Perhaps he wasn't, and simply couldn't remember. Though, wouldn't it be just as sweet? Deflowering a man who can't remember his first? In his mind, he'd still be the very first. It was very tempting.
He'd have to ask another time. For now...
He stared at the clean shirt. Karlach hadn't left him alone until he agreed to being bandaged up. Karlach herself couldn't do it, but she inspected closely as Wyll had done so.
He was clean of blood, but he could still smell it beneath the bandages. Even old, drying up and scabbing over...it smelt amazing. His mouth salivated and he dropped to his knees, straddling the hulking tieflings backside with an appreciative look, drinking it all in, figuratively this time.
He glanced off to the nearest tent, and found Lae'zel's tent to be locked up tight. She was down for the night it seemed. Perfect. Less eyes made him feel better about how he leered, leaning down to press his front to Tar'eons back.
The man hissed softly but didn't say anything. With their difference in build, it only made sense for Astarion to have every inch of himself pressed against him just to reach his neck.
Unlike the first time, Astarion lingered, inhaling deeply and revelling in his scent. Blood, sweat, and campfire smoke. There were more scents the closer he got to his skin, his nose brushing his hot neck, the shiver he enticed only rippling the scent of wood and parchment, of anticipation and something...dark. He couldn't put a name to the scent, but it was so thick it clogged his nose, like someone had made a blindness spell purely to block that sense instead.
He had to swallow hard and pulled back just a touch before he shook the effect of it off.
"What's wrong...?"
"Nothing, I..." How did he even explain it? He couldn't. So he didn't.
He leaned back in and licked his neck, tasting the salt of his sweat and relishing in the small sound of surprise. It almost sounded like a moan. He sunk his fangs into his neck and groaned at the burst of flavours across his tongue, the uncouth scent disappearing from his mind as he sunk into the feast before him.
Tar'eon trembled beneath him, soft gasps escaping his throat as Astarion grew frenzied, drinking deep and purposefully. He'd been containing himself since the night previous, and it seemed his intense desire to drink the tieflings blood did not go away in just a day.
Tar'eons hand reached back and grasped his thigh hard, his brows pinched tight. It hurt. It really did. It hurt, and his heart thumped wildly, and he...he felt sleepy when Astarion fed from him. The previous night, he'd dreamt of nothing. It had been a slice of heaven, to sleep through the night, even if he awoke dizzy and weakened.
Tar'eons grip grew lax as Astarion's greedy pulls dimmed down to languid licks and sucks, knowing he had to stop but not quite ready to truly let go of the taste. After the mess of the previous night, it seemed only fair to clean up after himself. It was simple etiquette.
Slowly, his lips left the puncture wound, even as it dribbled. He licked his lips, feeling stronger. He felt euphoric, again.
He could get used to this.
He made to tell Tar'eon exactly that, to perhaps use their position to his advantage and try just a touch of seduction, but...he was asleep.
His brows jumped up. Shit. Did he actually killed him?
He checked his pulse and while it was slower, more relaxed, it was still pumping. He hadn't killed him. He simply...fell asleep.
What kind of psychopath fell asleep while being drained by a vampire? Insanity...
Astarion found himself smiling regardless, tucking an dark strand behind the mans pointed ear before he slipped away to the bedroll opposite him, laying down and watching him breathe as the fire slowly died with time.
When the light died, Astarion finally closed his eyes. No point at looking at the man in shades of grey. Not when he knew how much better he looked in the light.

Tav Ask Game
Tav Ask Game that does not belong to me, feel free to snag!
Name: Fianna "Fi" Estara
Nickname: Fi (also preferred name)
Height: 5’4
Gender: She/They
Orientation: Pansexual/Polyamorous
Nationality/identity: Baldurian
Favourite fruit: Berries (specifically blackberries for jam) and Citrus
Favourite season: Spring/Spring equivalent. Fi loves feeling the oncoming warmth of spring while balancing that with last chills of winter. She also loves to see all of the new fauna born during this time.
Favourite flower: Any, really. She just loves to see flowers whether out in the wild, or being sold in various areas. She does tend to pick a favorite out of all of the places she travels to.
Coffee, tea or hot chocolate: Chai tea (or equivalent). Just the perfect amount of cinnamon for her, and it tastes good either cold or hot.
Avg hours of sleep: 4-6. In the past it was far less than even that, however she still sleeps uneasily. When she gets to sleep in an inn, she sleeps deeper, but not much longer.
Dogs or cats: Yes
Dream trip: Anywhere with her friends or found family. She loves exploring and hiking the wilderness regardless of what type that is. You’d think she’d prefer the comforts of civilization, but no, there’s no beating that natural beauty. But things are so much better with those she loves. To her, that’s what home is.
Number of blankets: 5+. The more the better. Partially for particularly harsh winters, partially because of various environments, but mostly because she likes to burrow into the chasms of comfort. Most of the time when she wakes up the majority are tossed to the side haphazardly.
Random fact:
Although her main instruments are the violin, cello, and piano, she can play various other instruments to a journeyman degree. When she gets her hands on something she truly loves, she is persistent and quick at getting a handle on it. However, if she doesn’t commit, she’ll quickly forget and have to relearn.
She loves romance books and has a little book club with Wyll, Shadowheart, and occasionally Karlach.
Her body is covered in scars and burn marks that she hides meticulously. They are remnants from her harsh past dealing with bullying turned into tormenting. She feels a great amount of shame from them, but eventually grows to feel pride from them after facing her demons and coming to terms with her insecurities. By act 3, she’s seen wearing less clothing because she prefers the less restrictive feelings from it and it freely showing said scars.

2, 3, 4, 13, 18 for Ned
What would their blood taste like to vampires?
This is actually something Ned has had to deal with in detail, since they're the first of my Tavs to go for the 'Astarion regularly feeding from them instead of just eating anyone they happen to get into a fight with' option.
Cliché as it is, I suspect that Ned tastes a bit like drow green wine. Just because it's made and fermented with Underdark mushrooms and vegetation, and that is what Ned has mostly been living off for over a century. Not the fizzy variety, I don't think, but possibly an older, subtler vintage, the sort of thing that gets brewed by drow commoners who can't get the fancy stuff but are quite capable of gathering mushrooms and fermenting them.
How would they kiss their LI?
This one changes over the course of the game. In the beginning, Ned is very cautious about it, because they're not...really used to intimacy. The nearest thing they've had to an adult relationship was almost entirely chaste, and very cautious on account of...well. Quaggoth. Or elven prince in the body of same. Before that, it was safer not to indulge, as every potential lover in Menzoberranzan would inevitably want something, and often that something was to remove Ned as competition.
As such, in the beginning, they kiss as though trying to learn a difficult page of notes by heart - carefully, thoroughly, and with a great deal of attention to detail. They get less careful, over time, but the slow, thorough, as-if-trying-to-memorise-their-partner quality never quite goes away.
How do they sleep with their LI (what position, does one steal the blankets, is one too hot/cold, etc)?
Astarion is too cold, on account of being undead, and compounds the fact by warming his cold extremities on Ned's. His cold toes in particular are a constant torment, once he gets comfortable enough in their relationship not to fear getting kicked out of bed over it. Both Ned and Astarion, however, are a lot cuddlier than they are willing to admit, or even really expect. This is partly due to years of touch-starvation for both of them, and now they have someone they can touch relatively freely, both of them are greedy for it - though, sometimes they go a bit too far and can't stand to be near each other because it's just too much. Astarion in particular, given how unrelentingly negative his associations with touch are. There's a reason they maintain separate beds/bedrolls even if they do like to sleep cuddled up, after all. Generally speaking, they're facing each other. Astarion is generally on top, but doesn't like positions that make him feel trapped or restrained, so they've had to do a lot of trial-and-error with their cuddling positions to find the right combination of security and freedom of movement.
What makes them laugh? What does their laugh sound like?
Ned doesn't laugh much. Not because they don't have a sense of humour, just because they aren't particularly expressive about it, a side-effect of having grown up in first Ched Nasad and then Menzoberranzan as an aristocrat, and being expected to control emotional responses to avoid giving themself away to their enemies. It was a more serious concern in Menzoberranzan, when they were no longer the child of a house Matron, but of a distant cousin taken in after their branch family were, so far as anyone knew, wiped out in the fall of their city.
That said, there are some things that can do it: puns, weirdly, work embarrassingly well, which Astarion will never stop teasing them about. Particularly bad puns. Ned can't really explain it, but awful puns and even worse knockabout humour have a tendency to get to them even when they admit that they don't know why they're laughing and, objectively, these things are every bit as terrible as the rest of the party (except for Wyll, who admits a fondness for clowns, and Jaheira, who also laughs at the clown performance) say they are.
Their laugh itself is...awful. Horrible. It sounds like a rusty iron hinge being jiggled by a child swinging on a door, or someone putting a spoon through a meat-grinder. It creaks, and rasps, and has been known to make small children cry just hearing it. Indeed, nobody was quite sure the doppelgangers at the circus didn't attack them just because it was preferable to hearing more of that laugh. It only really comes out when they're in absolute, uncontrollable mirth - most of the time, they express amusement through a sort of soundless huff of air.
What modern day tv show would they binge over a weekend? do they get their LI to watch with them?
Hm. Haven't really thought about their taste in television, but I...I could actually see them being a big fan of Hello From the Hallowoods, if I'm allowed to broaden the category to podcasts. Not just as a nod to their voice inspiration, but because the setting of this creepy, dangerous, wonderful forest at the end of the world, the cast of well-developed, flawed but very loveable characters, everything about Nikignik, the messages about religious trauma and love and identity...all of it would just get them right in the heart. I think their favourite character would end up being Polly, though, for some reason. They are probably rather private about their tastes, right up until they have to go on some sort of long journey and get control of the radio/AV cord to put Hallowoods on. Astarion is hooked within a few episodes, and has Strong Opinions about how much the Instrumentalist needs to die screaming.
In terms of actual television...I could see Ned developing a weird, vicious rivalry with a TV gardener. Not sure which one, but the image of them hate-binging gardening shows and scoffing at the answers will not leave me alone. They would drag Astarion into it, if only because he is much better at being scathing than they are. Astarion does not get it, but gamely insults his enbyfriend's gardening nemesis with them regardless, and is delighted at discovering such hitherto-unexplored depths of bitchiness behind Ned's mild-mannered exterior.

Thank you for tagging me @miradelletarot ! I think by now all of my mutuals have been tagged or have done this before. So if you're reading this, want to do this OC filler meme as well you can just say I tagged you hehe
BASICS
Full name: Tarei
(she has no last name as she has distanced herself from her clan since she was a child)
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Bisexual
Background: Outlander
Class: Circle of the Moon Druid
OTHER
Birthplace: The deepest pit of the underdark
Profession: She used to be a solitary druid, always patrolling to Lurkwood to heal and protect from those who wanted to harm nature.
Phobias: Tarei is claustrophobic and is also quite spooked by spiders, and the dark!
Which is funny cause... She's... Y'know... A drow
Guilty pleasures: Once she has been offered pastries from a bakery in Baldur's Gate from the first time she is HOOKED. She loves sweet buns, and anything caramelised, and chocolate!
Hobbies: Reading fictional novels and true stories about heroic adventurers, swimming, and flying in her bird wildshape.
MORALS
Alignment: Neutral Good
Sins: Even though she wants to use her magical prowess to heal and support nature and all its inhabitants, there was one moment in her life where she has used her druidic gifts to inflict deep harm on those who have pushed her to the point beyond desperation. Since then she has vowed never to use her gifts for violence ever again. But when she has been caught by the mindflayer ship, she comes to find the hard way that she doesn't have a choice if she needs to survive.
Virtues: Tarei always wants to leave the world a better place than when she found it, which is why she'll pretty much help anyone who asks her. Even if they aren't kind, or a good person (although there is a line, as mentioned above). And while she has been traumatized and is scared to let people into her life, she is willing to open her heart to new relationships. She isn't really heroic in any way, but she is brave, and willing to push herself out of her comfort zone for a cause she believes in.

R E L A T I O N S H I P S
OTP: Halsin/Tarei (Tarei is deeply in love with Halsin, and they are very wholesome together <3)
Acceptable Ships: Tarei pretty much gets flustered by every origin companion at a certain point, there are people surrounding her who tend to make her heart skip a beat. like Wyll, Astarion, and Karlach
OT3: None. While Tarei doesn't need to be monogamous to be happy with Halsin, she does not open her heart as freely as he does. Besides, when she loves someone she is completely head over heels.
Brotp: Tarei, Gale, and Karlach! They are her besties.
Notp: Jaheira/Tarei.
She respects Jaheira so much, she really looks up to the high-harper druid. But more like she's some kind of wise mother figure Tarei never knew she needed.
BACKSTORY
Tarei is the youngest girl born out of 8 males, and was abused and pushed by her mother to be the Lolthite warrior she needed her to be. She always had an aptitude for healing magic and feeling what the earth needed from her. After nearly getting beaten to death she escaped, killing three of her brothers to do so at the age of 7. She literally clawed her way through the crust to the surface where she was found by a group of elder druids who saw her in a vision to save her. From there she has been raised by them and honed her druidic skills for decades while learning how to survive by herself in the wintery climate she lived in for extended periods of times. While she was happy to have found her calling, she never really felt like she fit in with the other druids. She never knew if it was because she was a drow, because of her shy nature, or because she had done something wrong.
After leading a solitary nomad-like life she found a dying high-elf, an alchemist named Gwendynn, after a bad snowstorm. She nurtured her back to health, and fell deeply in love with her. Gwen had been running from her own past after she had crossed some bad people back in Neverwinter. For the next 15 years she returned to every winter to spend with her lover. One night, those men found her and kidnapped both Tarei and her lover where they both have been tortured, SA'd, and taken back to the city of Neverwinter. Tarei was kept with them to make sure Gwen didn't do anything rash, or else she would die.
One night, after almost escaping, Gwendynn was killed, after which Tarei snapped. She hunted, tortured, and killed each of the men after she herself managed to break free. After burying her lover Tarei closed herself off from society, not daring to get close to anyone ever again as she suffered from PTSD ever since.
But ever since getting kidnapped by the mindflayers, she needed to learn to accept help and let herself be close to others if she wanted to save them, and herself.

2. A kiss when it's not allowed
2. A kiss when it's not allowed. | FUCKED UP KISSING MEME ! ❛ —— ☾ ₊ ⊹ @limpfisted
𝐀𝐆𝐄𝐒, 𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐇𝐀𝐒 𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐍 𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐊𝐈𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐃. In another life, by a very different man. Truly only a short while ago, but much has changed. She now finds herself working to undo the very plot she helped weave, thread by terrible thread. Her company consider themselves saviors, heroes, all sorts of foolish titles that merely mean they allow sentiment to rule them more than they aught.
The Blade was perhaps the worst of them all. An idealist; how utterly quaint, she had thought. Always the blindest of fools, in the end. Interesting only due to infernal pact and the prices exacted for his disobedience.
He has now proven himself to be intriguing — a position far more dangerous than he may know. A devil's bargain he had offered, with all the headiness and ill-thought fervor of youth. Caught up in the dancing and lights. Maybe, even, the knowledge that not everyone was repulsed by his new form.
And it had been Wyll himself had been the one to begin this farce. Layered words of contracts and bargains, push and pull and subservience and authority. Iraestra is simply older, and far more versed, in such dealings. It would be too late for him by the time that he realized the hands she wrapped tenderly around his throat would one day become a noose. A mere matter of time, though she is patient. She will not be made a fool of again.
Between them exists laws of intimacy. Ordinarily, Wyll eagerly follows them to the very letter. His continued obedience has been to his credit.
Funny, how he now forgets himself.
"We did it!" He crows jubilantly at their victory. Spins her round, holds her close, and then kisses her quite firmly on the mouth. Once, twice, before her shock fades.
The Blade is warmth against her front, hot palms 'pon her cheeks. He clutches at her like they are lovers — and after a fashion, she supposes they are. She feels his smile against her own mouth, the press of teeth and the sweet perfume of him. He is gentle lips and the bristle of hair, all affection that she did not ask for. He acts without her bidding.
Not truly unpleasant, but it is an intimacy he has taken it upon himself to claim. How daring is he! A pity, that she is not his to possess. He does not lead this dance. Hadn't he asked to learn the ways of her people that fateful night? This is not the order of things.
Nails catch upon ridged flesh. Long fingers frame Wyll's chin, turn his face down to her own. Whatever comes to him next is stopped by the painful dig of her fingers. Her voice, when she finds it, is barely contained anger. She seethes. An ice that even his hell-begot flame cannot melt.
"Tell me, rivvil, who it is that you touch so freely?"

Astarion/Tav, but mostly is just romance headcanons for our beloved companions.
Shadowheart is right - no matter how ominous her name -, thinking about the tadpole non-stop is not going to make it disappear from their brains. In this... Astarion wants to say night, but it's always night in the Underdark, so he can't really know if it's night time or if the sun he so misses is shining above them all. Anyway, right now they're at their camp, covered by giant, luminiscent mushrooms of any kind, the fire crackling cozily in front of them.
They all are talking about their love life, or the lack of it, and Astarion can't help but to notice a pattern. As if an invisible allmighty hand had chose the seven most miserable people in all Faerun.
Karlach, hasn't been with anyone in years, because of her flaming affliction. She says that before Zariel, she doesn't remember falling in love with anybody, but she's a tactile tiefling and she misses the soft touch of another being.
Shadowheart says that she's been devoted to Shar, the Dark Goddess, since she was a kid, and that if she ever loved someone, she allowed them to erase her memory.
Lae'zel is Astarion's favorite. The gith is bold and doesn't know taboo, does she? She talks about sex freely and without shame. She thinks sex is a way to let out some steam and energy, also a wonderful way to claim someone if you develop romantic feelings. Lae'zel knows what she wants and how she wants it, and calls them all immature when they blush. Astarion laughs delighted with Lae'zel's sexy stories.
They all are tired of hear about Gale's torrid romance with Mystra. The man beds a literal Goddess and is punished at the end, another reason why Astarion would never trust in any deity.
Halsin is... wild. Feral. Animalistic. Halsin wins them all in sex stories. Astarion feels a weird sting in his guts when Tav laughs and blushed at Halsin's anecdotes as a bear. Astarion knows it's not jealousy, he has never been jealous. It's fear. But the vampire stores that thought to examine it later.
Then there's Wyll... Gods above, Wyll have been training non-stop to become the perfect Prince Charming, hasn't he? Wyll claims that a gentleman doesn't kiss and tell. Astarion is fully convinced the man is reserving himself until being married. Nothing wrong with that! Just... a handsome boy like Wyll could have anyone. Astarion must admit - and he does admit - that Wyll could have been such a delicious morsel if... Well.
Tav.
Tav, who has been slowly working their way into Astarion's cold, dead heart. Tav, who laughs when Gale asks them about their love stories. Tav, who has had a childhood crush, a few failed relationships, and some affairs here and there during their adventures, but nothing too important to talk about it.
Astarion knows he's doomed when Tav smiles at Astarion, their cheeks flushed, maybe because of the conversation or maybe it's the fire heating their cheeks.
Karlach is the one who bumps Astarion's shoulders and asks him to share his torrid, debauched sexy anecdotes. Astarion's stomach churns, and he'll puke if he could. He knew, at the start of the conversation, that they'll ask him too.
Astarion puts on his well practiced facade and laughs it off, waving his hand elegantly and joking vaguely about how Baldur's Gate was full of delectable young men and women to spend the nights with. He thinks about them all, every day, and has to resist the impulse to- well. He keeps his well practiced charm, but something in his face must show his inner turmoil, because Tav interrupts him and redirects the conversation to another matter.
Astarion looks at Tav, grateful for once. Tav simply smiles at him, as if just as easy, and lets Gale to start rambling about something Astarion is not even listening. Maybe it is easy, for Tav at least. Astarion doesn't want to hope, nothing in his life is easy.
Later, in his bedroll, looking at the stars, Astarion answers Karlach's question to himself, his mind whirling with the realization-
If he fell in love while under Cazador's influence, he can't really know, he wasn't himself, he hasn't been himself for two hundred years. But Astarion has been in love, when he was young. He never knew how to reciprocate, too focused in other things.
Astarion has been in love before, but now he's sure he loves Tav. Astarion is free for now, and he knows he has to do something about that bright, overwhelming love he feels for Tav.

it is comfortable ,  for a change ,  to mean so little.
“Oh? Have you grown accustomed to your chains?”
And yet Gortash is not chained. He walks freely around the ballroom, though guarded—with nary a soul able to do more than rubberneck or sneer without the Grandduke’s permission.
He gets looks. They both get looks. Neither of them are truly welcome here. Not after what Gortash did to the patriars. Not after Wyll dared to exist in any capacity whatsoever.
So they titter, convalescing, nursing their shattered egos with each other, drinking wine from glasses they dare not leave uncovered. Both of them have light protective armor beneath their clothes, heavy in the back, for obvious reasons.
“The fact that this party is happening at all is some kind of cruel farce. I can still taste the salty tears of mourning at their parents’ funerals—I can still smell the ash of the refugee’s flesh as we had to burn our dead as there was no space left to bury them. And yet we party. We cavort. I once held the record for sarabandes, but now feel guilty for even being here, much less spinning a suitor in conversational circles. Perhaps you mean little. Without your… tutelage, I fear our presence here means even less.”
“I don’t know how to talk with these people without rolling my eyes.”
“Tell me. How did you seduce their Mothers knowing all this was gilded moral squalor.” I miss the Frontiers. Hells, I miss Avernus. “And how do I—“ Seduce. Wyll’s lip curls, his mouth raises, his cheeks pinch upwards. Disgusting. “Talk to these people.” Said with less derision then he was going to mean before the thought.
He sighs deeply, and takes a sip of wine. Perhaps he’s already had too much, to say such things. But he fears wasting such a vintage, like so much luxury here is wasted on people of his own noble, debauched ilk.
These are his brothers, his sisters, his cousins, in nobility. He played with them as a child, though they often turned their noses up even then. He danced with them, kissed some—and he was just as much of a joke then, he realizes now.
What hurts more? The disgust they clearly have for him? Or recognizing their chuckles, their snaking sighs and brash guffaws, their cocked necks like chickens pecking and cawing, the whispers behind their hands, the lowering of their standards to deign to talk to the Flaming Fist brat. He always knew, he always knew, and yet, everything is colored in a matador’s red, like a security blanket of rage, whimpering and carefully flickering in the stale, parched air of this colosseum of old crushes and old rivals but never old friends.
He does not have to feel shame, if he feels anger. And such anger would also be a luxury wasted like the covered wine dipping lower and lower in his cup full, if he did not sharpen it to a point.
He will make new records in these ballrooms, eventually. But he needs Gortash’s help not to boil and steam and charge like a bull.
