mainly known for her manga dorohedoro, this artist uses anything with a pigment and anything thatll stick to the page as an art supply

seen below you will see her using things like garbage bags, airbrushes and various other materials to create her work, she has also been seen using bandaids, nets and other garbage items in her artwork.

Her work is very visually dirty, often with chicken scratch lines and various stains on the paper.

Her designs are detailed and gritty with characters more often than not wearing masks and consealing or heavily revealing clothes (no in between)

I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS ABOUT DHD I love Alrick so much I might straight up commission a pic of him smooching me ANYWAY

1. Speaking of smooching, is Alrick more the type to have a committed relationship, a few hookups here and there, or is just completely disinterested in romantic/sexual relationships?

2. The way Death Heads are stigmatized and do dirty/hard jobs for people reminds me of The Witcher. Any inspiration from that?

3. When are we gonna see more Death Heads besides Rena and Alrick? I'm looking forward to your next comic cause I LOVED the first two

He seems to be a committed relationship type, though currently single. I don't think he regards relationships and needs for them too high in his life, for example, going on dates and trying to find someone. He's happy with his work and in his one room flat with his plants. Of course, this is my first impression of him so far. We need to see if he tells more about this side of him (but I think it won't be important part of DHD stories, so we might never get any answers).

Of course, this DOESN���T mean that a fan couldn’t headcanon him the biggest, sexiest  m a n - w h o r e  stud ever walked on Lywood streets. Have fun! >:3c

Oh I FORGOT! When you look at the book Alrick is holding in the bookstore, it is a romantic novel.

No. I just kept hearing in my head Death-Head, Death-Head and then deals, deals, deals, when I analyzed who Alrick is. I started the very first comic with this premise only like "Okay, well, he's this Death-Head who makes deals. Let's see what happens if I just draw..." Now that you mentioned The Witcher, I can see the similarity! A good example again that all the ideas have already been used so whatever, go forth with yours anyway.

Death-Heads can do any jobs, not only dirty ones. Only the sky is the limit, depending what the client wants and what they are ready to gamble. But it seems the themes are darker as their help is the last resort for many, and as they can perform illegal stuff for a decent payment, that attracts certain people, too.

3. When are we gonna see more Death Heads besides Rena and Alrick? I'm looking forward to your next comic cause I LOVED the first two

YES! There's going to be a new Death-Head from Rena's fraction in the next story. Stay tuned! I also know there's 4th Death-Head in Rena's fraction, this big guy nick named Dio. But that's all I know about Dio so far. I suspect he might be beefy lizard/lizard-monster person, similar to Dorohedoro's Caiman but I know who he exactly is only when I start to draw him*. Perhaps we see Dio in next story, too?

*Vanessa was supposed to be hyena but when I started to draw her, a leopard appeared. So, I can't really expect or promise anything for 100% certainty!

So that was Dorohedoro

I really liked it!

It reminded me a lot of One Punch Man in that both derive a lot of humor from the disconnect between the seriousness of the events depicted and the characters' decidedly nonserious reactions to it. Except OPM is very satirical and DhD is not I don't think... it's just fully embracing it's weirdness, and everybody seems to be having a good time despite being constantly embroiled in bizarre violence.

(also I haven't seen much anime so they might not be that similar in the grand scheme of things, just more similar than other anime I've watched)

Anyways, there were a lot of things that were gross or violent that usually would be too much for me, but the framing or just overall tone of the show made it fun instead. Like Johnson -- horrifying bugman? Kinda, yeah, and I still don't love his design but by his second or third scene I was totally sold on him as a character. Wonderful!

I also really loved how gen it was -- it featured a lot of great friendships! Especially Nikadio and Caiman, and Shin and Noi!! But lots of the other characters too! And even the interactions between the protagonists and antagonists -- someone (I think Severa?) said in the chat that they hoped En’s gang and Caiman’s group end up friends by the end of the story, and I 1000% agree with that!!

AND I HOPE WE GET THE END OF THE STORY! Good ending point for season 1 but ughhh I need a next season (or to track down the manga and overcome my dislike of the format).
