Venom || Chapter 3 open
A library? The rooms in this castle were seriously lame. Ayato couldn’t do anything except stare at the titles, sparing the books the fate of having the pages torn out of them or burned. “Watch this place become a repeat of the Library of Alexandria, flames everywhere, books burned down to nothing. How awesome” He was clearly talking to himself.

Fortune’s Future | Post-Trial/ch 3 open
Was anything real anymore...? Two more people had died, but it felt like it just flew by for Gabby. She tried to investigate and before she knew it she was in the trial. Could she say anything? Should she say anything? These were her children, she was to guide them. But some of them seemed to resist being guided, while others would eventually have to learn to operate without her guidance.
So she allowed them to continue without her help. Let’s see if they have what it takes to persevere without her. Of course it seems that suspicions are turning on her. She would step in and turn things around if she had to. But her patience for these children, who seemed so intent on going against fortune’s path, was wearing thin.
In the end, the culprit was found at the end. That’s fine at least. Another one she could have saved if they had just listened to her.
And now she goes on, time to find something else to do. Maybe she can try against o reach out to one of the children? She’ll try and find someone in the courtyard...

hello, clara | chapter 2 | open
After the bodies appeared, and the fire permeated her mind relentlessly, Clara was rendered absolutely useless. She stayed silent throughout the investigation and didn’t even speak a word at trial; choosing to, instead, stare blankly ahead of her, as if she wasn’t there at all.
God, did she wish she wasn’t there. By the time she manages to collect herself, everything has happened so much. She knows, of course, because as much as her mind flooded with those memories, she was still there. She knew... the trial, the execution...
What sort of awful game was this?
She wanted to go home.
Desperate for something to take her mind off of any of the thoughts swirling in her head, Clara took to stumbling through the halls of the castle. At this point, she had it memorized, but... Ah. Honey eyes blink, slowly, at the sight of another person.
Tumblr media
“... Hello... I hope I... am not in your way.”
Her voice is hoarse from disuse, and, uh, you’re nowhere near in the way, Clara...

To Sail Under God’s Eyes - Ch1 Post Trial - Open
Folke...is so tired.
After the trial he drags himself away, but he can’t get far before he collapses from exhaustion. Dragging that body...those braziers...setting everything up...it was so beyond him, beyond his strength, and only his pure dedication to making good art had pushed him on and on to finish.
He barely make it to the church, the closest area. The carpet on the floor is a godsend - and he huff out a silent, sad laugh at that thought. He collapses onto the worship ground and simply lays there, glasses skewed and eyes closed, and sleeps until beams of sunrise shine on him through the stained glass windows and wake him up.
Then he hears the left open front door creak, as someone pushes it further open.
“.......are you here for...me, or the church?”

Oblivscere | Shakuntala | Ch2 Motive | Open
Tala doesn’t like this motive one bit.
She doesn’t have any family- at least, none she can remember. And the people who did know her, well... Let’s just say she needed them to remember her.
Considering she had been locked out of her room, Tala sits in the courtyard, flipping through a book she had ever-so-luckily had on her before the event, and a little plush giraffe sitting next to her on the grass. The book appears to be in a foreign language, one that isn’t too easily recognizable. The cover is adorned with alchemical symbols and the pages glimmer with golden ink. It’s actually rather beautiful.
Trying her best to remain calm, Tala flips through the pages of her book, scanning the text back and forth and translating it on her own. She doesn’t seem to notice much around her, but she does pick up the giraffe plush and set it on her lap. Other than that, she’s completely absorbed in her research. If she can’t experiment, she shall read.

Knife? ✿ Chapter 1 Post-Trial ✿ Open
Well, that was a mess.
Yuki’s side still ached something fierce, but Kae had stopped the bleeding, so it was fine, right? Maybe she still needed to rinse it out... Was there an infirmary here? Doctor’s office? She couldn’t remember. There were at least sinks in the kitchen... Oh, and there was supposed to be some broken glass, too, wasn’t there? She needed to go clean that up before anybody else got hurt.
Except Kae had been stabbed, too, and she needed to check on her, and... Kei had been stabbed, too, but he’d be fine, she guessed. Except Eiji probably wasn’t fine about it, and... Hummmmm...
She was just sort of sitting halfway across the courtyard, unsure if she should continue to the kitchen or try to figure out where the others went. Or if she’d be able to get back up and make it to either location.
Oh, except most of them probably hadn’t had supper yet, had they? Would they be in the mood to cook anything after all that?
Decision made, she started to haul herself back to her feet but found she could not. A sharp pain shot across the bottom of her ribs, and she dropped back down, wheezing.
Ah, was someone coming this way?
Tumblr media
“U-um, can you... help me up...? I need to get... back to the kitchen...”

Something You Couldn’t See | Fujiwara | Chapter Two: OPEN
Fujiwara wasn’t okay. None of this was necessarily what one would describe as okay. In what felt like the blink of an eye, three of her classmates were dead. Just like that. And that name, that Ayato Shiraki, rang some weird sort of bell and caused fear within her heart. The glitching out was horrifying; what had happened to him was horrifying. The fact that it was so easy to lie about who you were and disguise yourself as someone you weren’t was horrifying. She wondered: who else was under a disguise?
She sat solemnly with a cup of milk tea, stirring beyond necessity, watching it swirl: her own little Charybdis. She cracked a small smile. Odysseus was clever, too, and he was led home by the power of his love for his wife and family. What a stellar story.
She looked up upon realizing another person was in the kitchen. She stopped stirring. “Would you like a cup of tea? I believe there is still some hot water in the kettle. I’m not very used to making it myself, as I’ve usually had servants to do it for me, but I’ve gotten a bit better at it if I do say so myself.”

Prop Check | Nikko | Prologue
Woah. A bit of whiplash coming in to the virtual world, Nikko never was all to knowledgable on how technology works, was he suppose to mentally prepare himself or something? Anyhow, he was in now, and shot up the moment he woke up. Nikko turned his head looking all around, again, new thing with this techno-nonsense. It seemed real enough, just an open field inside a castle from the look of it. Nikko finally stood up once he had gotten a hold of the setting.
Tumblr media
“WOO! I’m a computer person! I think!”
Nikko ran off to one of the trees in the area, full of to much energy, and tried to jump up to one of the branches. He managed to just grab hold of one, only for it to snap a second after, Nikko suddenly back on the ground. Nikko sat there for a moment stunned by the sudden fall. He looked around hoping no one saw that..but of course someone did.
Tumblr media
“...Uh..The tree works.”
Nikko, it’s a plant, not a television, that phrase doesn’t... oh whatever. Nikko had to blurt something out to try and make himself not look too stupid, and finally got up and leaned back on the tree as if nothing had happened.
Tumblr media
“So what’s up?”

Mists Of Avalon || Chapter 1 || Open
Emiko was certainly relieved when they were called to gather. She was worried that something had one wrong with the game, for a moment there. Oh, a bear? Hmm, she doesn’t recall seeing much of him... The game mascot, perhaps? Games had those, right? A small character of sorts to be the “fun face” of the game?
She shakes off her thoughts to tune back in, it would be embarrassing to have to ask him to repeat all of that.
Ah, although...
Is... is this how games usually work?? She doesn’t think she’s ever heard of a game denying the title itself. Or revoke log out privileges??? Did NPC’s usually break the fourth wall like that????
K...kill? Another player, at that????? This hardly seemed like one of those bloody, killy, violent games. She had thought it would be more fantasy inspired. Oh, maybe that’s just the setting. Although, it didn’t really present itself as a game that would-- wait that’s not the important part here.
Possible mis-advertisement aside!! Emiko chews at her lip, hands gripping the hem of her sweater. This didn’t sound like a fun game... She looks down at her hands when she recalls what King Kuma had said about menu access.
She... doesn’t know what to do.
Emiko makes some vague gestures with her hands, even mimicking holding a game controller, but no dice. Phooey. Another few seconds of her waving her hands around each other, before the screen suddenly appears across her left palm.
“AH!”
In her surprise, she jumps back, feeling the small thump of another person. She quickly steps away and whirls around.
“O-oh gosh! I’m sorry about that! I uh-- I was, uhh--”
She points down at her palm, flashing an apologetic smile. She looks down to her hand, brow creasing. Darn it, how did she do that?

new eden 💻 kiyoshi 💻 prologue
Kiyoshi Utsunomiya woke up to the scent of summer grass and the sensation of warm sun against his skin... but he couldn’t give less of a fuck about the beauty of his new surroundings. He was lying in the dirt like some lousy level 1 fire beetle, and though he could claw his way back into his wheelchair with enough effort, he would not suffer this indignity without first griping to his heart’s content.
Tumblr media
“God fuckin’ dammit! What kinda fuckin’ shitty game... Didn’t even get my goddamn rocket wheelchair! If I can’t have a rocket wheelchair in a VR game then what’s the fuckin’ POINT?!”
He did finally push himself somewhat off the ground by the time one of the other players had walked up to him. He scowled up at them briefly, but went back to grumbling.

Doom Desire | Kin | Ch1 Start/Open
Kin couldn’t help but laugh when she saw King Kuma. A bear. A fucking bear. She had seen some wild-ass designs in her lifetime. She was the type of person who would defend Garbodor. But this? This was too much. She burst out laughing, clutching at her sides as she tried to catch her breath.
“Oh my GOD!! And I thought fuckin’ fox boy was a furry!! We got a fuckin’ pygmy yiffer! Jesus Christ! Jesus fucking Christ!! Is this seriously what we’re doing?? Listening to this fucking thing that looks like a 10-year-old on deviantART’s first fursona?? My lord...”
And then, the bear started going on about killing each other. Kin stared with the blankest expression you could possibly imagine.
“Wow. I was right. It is a fucking edgelord’s fursona. Except, liiike, probably not a 10-year-old’s! Some 30-year-old furry who got a liiiittle too upset over people talkin’ shit about Steven Universe, right? God, this is stupid.” she brushed her hair out of her face. “But already, I can tell that one of you dipshits is gonna take it seriously. And I’m not here for that. Hit me up when we’re not murdering each other.”
She turned on her heel and started walking away.

Refusal || Chapter 2 open
Ayato sat up and looked around the empty trial room, he remembered being dragged off to his execution. “Right...” He looked down and noticed that he was back in his own clothes.
Tumblr media
“If I had to pretend to be that goggle wearing loser any longer...” He trailed off mid sentence and stood up. Ghosts could walks through walls right? Ayato stepped through the wall and stood outside the room.
Tumblr media
“Being a glitch doesn’t seem all that bad” Has he recalled, the major downside was that they couldn’t physically interact with anything anymore. Ayato headed outside to the courtyard.

Chapter 1 Open- Well How About That
After the bear-king thing stopped rambling, Ayako was left feeling a little confused. This... didn’t seem anything like the game she signed up for. While a little change was certainly welcome, this seemed a bit drastic. Ayako decided not to dwell on it. Quickly, she began fiddling around with the start menu, checking out all the things it had to offer. Honestly, she found it quite entertaining just to flip through the menu screens right before her face with her fingers. Neat. Cool.
Once she’d had her fill of checking out the interface, she started to wander about the castle. She wasn’t into the idea of a ‘mutual killing game’, but if she couldn’t log out, what better to do than just explore the map, right? Get to know her fellow players a little more. A great way to shake off any doubts she definitely didn’t have. Wandering through the hallways, she spotted someone else moving in the opposite direction and walked up to them energetically.
Tumblr media
“Well, hey! How’s things? Found anything interesting to do?”

the king’s rule | clara | chapter 1 open
Clara had listened patiently to the King when he called them, with a sparkle in her eyes as she attempted to keep her face straight. He was so cute. Look at that adorable little cape, and the crown! Isn’t that the cutest? This is one hundred times better than the king she saw depicted around the castle itself - more than one hundred, even.
But the sparkle diminishes as he continues to speak, this time saying that they can’t log out - which is problematic, to say the least, and then to say that the only way out is to kill someone?
Tumblr media
“...”
Even if it’s a video game, she just spent time getting to know some of the others, so she doesn’t really want to kill them. Plus, when it’s virtual reality, and everything seems so realistic, how could she do such a thing...?
And, didn’t he sound pretty uncertain as to whether it would hurt them in the real world or not?
No thanks.
Instead of commenting on the variety of things that just happened, Clara’s eyes land on Edgar the dog a few feet away. Just like that, she perks back up and kneels next to that good boy and gives him some good pets.
Upon sensing someone nearby, she glances up and aims a smile in their direction.
Tumblr media
“Hello there. The King of the castle is somewhat cute, despite his unfun ideas...  Like a... how do you say, teddy bear? However, Edgar still wins in my eyes. He has not asked me to commit murder, after all.”
Yeah, she seems to be on the nonplussed side of things.

A Viking’s Funeral - Ch1 Murder - Open
Folke was sitting down under the cover of the stables when someone yelled fire. Clutching a glass of water, he hesitates...should he get up?
In the end there sounds of screaming and yelling and water getting thrown around aren’t enough to spur him to move from his spot, so he shifts a bit over so he can stay leaning against one of the stable poles and continue watching the fire as he had been.
It’s while he’s sitting there, slowly sipping his water and not saying a word as he watches the others deal with putting out the fire and the smoke finally die down, that someone starts walking towards him. He looks up at them as they approach, as they’re undeniably taller at the moment since they’re standing and he’s not.
“..............” He doesn’t even try to speak. He eyes glance at them, then slide back to the tower behind.

Philosopher’s Stone | Shakuntala | Prologue | Open
Now, before this, Shakuntala had never played a video game, much less a virtual reality one that was advanced as this. As such, she went into the game immensely cautious.
It was nice to see that everything seemed tolerable, at least. It had been a long while since she’d been to as nice a place as this, and even despite the fact it was fake Tala decided she was going to revel in it for a while. She chose a spot near one of the walls, and sat down cross-legged on the soft grass. She closes her eyes, rendering one of her only expressive features useless, and she enjoyed the breeze.
That was, until she became well aware of someone in front of her. Vaguely offset by the fact that someone had disrupted her silence, Tala opened her eyes, which quickly softened at the sight of someone in front of her. She doesn’t move from her position on the ground, but she does speak, her voice silky-smooth even underneath the mask she wears to obscure her mouth.
“Oh... Hello. I was just meditating in a way, you see... To try and relax.”
She looks the person in front of her up and down, quickly, before visibly relaxing her body.
“My name is Shakuntala Jayashankar, but you’re free to call me Tala. Or Aphovae, if you know me as such - that’s what I use in performances. I am the SHSL Alchemist.”
She smiles, behind her mask, and the way her eyes crinkle at the edges make this fact obvious.
“And you might be?”
