60. what do they have faith in? what keeps them believing?

her pelorian beliefs would be the #1 here, and they’ve never wavered because she has been literally surrounded by proof that they’re Right and Good every day of her life. people are safe, healthy and fed because of the work she (and other folk of the temple) do each day, spreading the light and compassion to those who need it. the faith is about doing so many acts of good that evil has no room to exist, and it’s such an admirable and simple goal that elena has never once found reason to waver on. she also has faith in the people of whitestone, though that kinda took a bit of a dent when the list of people doing terrible things while in control of great power kept growing longer and longer.

61. is there an in-game moment of theirs you think about and just laugh?

the visual of elena returning to the dining table to find the rest of the party trying very hard to appear like every single one of them hadn't followed her out the front door and down to the park for her talk with donny lmao

62. do they believe in good and evil?

naturally. as somebody who was basically Good wrapped into a little bundle by the dawnfather and handed over to the grangers, there’s no way she wouldn’t have beliefs in good/evil. it’s been a while but if i remember correctly, she had a whole mindset where she believed that everybody (outside of monstrous exceptions bc duh) was born inherently good, but that light inside of them could become corrupted by the world around them. and if they had been led too far away, it was her and other pelorians’ jobs to lead them back to the light. to the good. and yeah that can certainly be a flawed way to look at things but she’s a fucking lady made of warmth and sunlight and goodness what do you want from her ofc she’s always trying to see the positive in people why do you think she’s so heartbroken over learning about people’s dark sides

Sword - Have they ever broken an oath?

MEREDITH — she never technically voiced such an oath, but she definitely broke the vow that most grey wardens make in swearing that stopping the darkspawn is their sole goal after the joining. meredith never surrendered her titles and actively called on them during the fifth blight, and though she did her duties as warden-commander for years,,,everybody knew that she was far more devoted to politics and ruling.

ELENA — not that i can think of. she's the type to take her word seriously and only commit it to something she truly believes in, any oath would be the utmost responsibility in her eyes.

Knuckles - What is their health like?

MEREDITH — she's in good health, much to the dismay of the haters. she's a warden but she rarely encounters darkspawn, and as a rogue has no access to any magic that would accelerate the progression of the taint. of course it's still there and in time will take its course, but she hopes to cut off that potential before the first inkling appears.

ELENA — she's golden. she's insane. girlie has a +4 constitution score, she's in peak condition and will nearly always be that way given who and what she is.

Whip - Who/What are they tied to? Relationships? Obligations?

MEREDITH — the cousland family and denizens of the highever teyrnir, the kingdom of ferelden as a larger picture, her positions of power, alistair. she has always felt a deep connection to people, especially those who are in her charge such as the folks of the teyrnir when she was a lady, and then the fereldans during the fifth blight and after. she was born into a position of power and privilege, has always known this and felt obliged to use that position justly and responsibly. (and alright, yes, maybe, she enjoys it quite a lot.) has been bound to alistair since the battle of ostagar, still true in alt verses when somebody else is her LI but incredibly so in her default state where they become partners then royals and start changing the kingdom together. i can’t find the words to explain it at this moment but like. some kind of tie to nathaniel as well, strange as it may seem given the circumstances of their reuniting at vigil’s keep. they bond over the course of awakening and then maintain a close friendship long after.

ELENA — has been tied to whitestone and the zenith since birth. she came into this world with a whole ass divine miracle and was expected to continue to do great things as the sunblessed child of pelor, and she took that on as an obligation as she grew. she has a big tie to the citizens of whitestone in general because she loves them, wants to protect and aid them with the abilities that pelor grants her, but she doesn’t have any specific ties outside of one true friend. hasn’t really bonded with anybody else outside of that lmao

MAEVE — 

scared of griffins after one or two rough encounters, especially that one where she thought dietrich fucking Died getting shoved off a rooftop and then she had to scramble away before her ass got tossed off as well. 

gets a bit nervous if all windows in a space are shuttered/have their curtains closed because it reminds her of the vibe to the sommers estate when carden was around.

feels uneasy when getting too close to fires, can sometimes have her fight-flight-or-freeze triggered if a witcher pops off an igni while next to her and she’s not prepared. initially came from the time carden started throwing all of her writings into a fireplace and she foolishly tried to reach for them out of distress and desperation while he kept on, a move that left her with a burn scar along the underside of one arm (which one i cannot remember atm whoops). add on the no doubt countless encounters she’s had while traveling with witchers. and then in some verses can top it off with that vampire attack on beauclair where everything was either on fire, in ruin, occupied by a feral vampire, or all of the above and she was stuck there. ... :)

hates hates hates hates isolation so much. triggers way too many negative emotions and dreadful memories of the carden era that she usually keeps from bubbling back up by making sure she’s constantly with people. odds are she probably has at least one incident of ending up isolated while on a quest with a witcher that left a lasting mark as well because that’s just her luck.

ELENA —

i don’t think she has nearly as many fears as the bard up there, any of elena’s revolve around social anxiety. she was So Little when people started coming to her for her divine magic or asking for blessings of pelor before she knew what they really meant, it really left a mark on her. left her with a “just use your magic to solve their problem and that’s enough, that’s all they want" mindset to justify her feelings of being shy or nervous to engage in more than small talk or discussion about the issue(s) at hand. she got slightly better at it as she grew up, but the fear of speaking to large crowds or potentially needing to deliver some kind of inspiring speech never really left. smth smth she’s just babey, her charisma is all from her appearance, kindness and the vibes of Pure Good that she gives off from being a divine soul daughter of pelor, she’s not here for deep speeches go ask azlana if you need one of those.

MAEVE — all types of flowers, pretty corsets, fancy dresses, books books books, moments of intimacy between lovers, some more but those are the usual suspects. it’s all simply her vibes, y’know. the flowers tho, those are usually nods to white orchard or how she has them all around her homes. tulips specifically are for after the sommers estate has been entirely reworked under her guidance and she decides to make it the new sigil.

ELENA — sunlight sunlight sunlight, golden and healing hands, burning candles, fields of wheat and flowers, golden and white clothing, blonde girlies in nature. entirely all for the vibes and visuals, no deep meaning to any of it.

[   👗   ] what is your muse’s fashion sense like? are they able to dress the way they want to? what would they wear in an ideal world?

MAEVE — she's fortunate enough to have that ideal wardrobe of hers, has far too many clothes but it's something that brings her joy so who cares. i fully can see her having a room in her estate(s) dedicated just to her wardrobe—the dresses, skirts and tops, coats, cloaks, shoes, accessories, etc etc etc, it's all got its place. she's a super fan of detailing on her things and it's incredibly rare to see her in an outfit that's without any designs crafted into it, her nightgowns and underthings also have them even if it's just a simple pattern. i don’t know how to describe the fashion sense outside of you look at her and think “oh wow that outfit probably cost more than my yearly living and she looks fucking stunning”, because whatever combo of clothes she puts on that day is gonna fit the bill lmao

ELENA — i decided during character creation that it'd be funny if the granger family was stuck in the past with their fashion, so they're still rocking the more Classic fantasy style wardrobes while most of whitestone has evolved with the times. has maybe like one (1) dark red dress and the rest of her wardrobe is all light colors, shades of blue, gold and white. she sees nothing wrong with her clothes and enjoys wearing them, though it can get tedious to assemble some of the more complicated and layered looks that come from the winter season or attending social events where she’s expected to look every part The Sunblessed.

How open is your oc to trying new things? Are they the adventurous sort, or would they rather stay in their comfort zone? Why?

ELENA — i'd like to say that she's adventurous because she deserves the fun (all she does is work and then stay in her house lmfao), but i know in my heart that she's set up camp in that comfort zone of hers. it's because she already has to test the boundaries of her comfort regularly vis-à-vis certain social interactions, so once she's finished with that she likes to retreat to what she knows and feels secure in. most open to trying new foods, but nothing too wild or far removed from what she usually has. more amenable to trying new things if she's close to someone who is bringing up the idea(s) tbh. if she trusts them with everything else than she believes they'll have her best interest at heart and have faith in their thinking she'll enjoy something.

RIYA — opposite of miss angel there, riya is always down to try new things. constantly chasing new highs and looking for the Next Thing. she's the type of person who can't stick to a single hobby because she jumps around so much, eager to sink her teeth into whatever interest catches her eye. said new things can be anywhere on the scale of safe to dangerous and it usually doesn't take much convincing to have her agreeing to anybody's suggestions, if she's not the one to propose one first.

How does your oc fare in an emergency situation? Do they panic, do they freeze, do they take charge?

ELENA — she doesn't panic all that much when it comes to danger, there's a calmness and confidence in her during those times because she has faith that things will work out if she (and/or companions) use resources smartly. she's the ding dang daughter of pelor, giver of life and beacon of hope, and she strives to present those things herself, especially during emergencies. she isn't the one to turn to for a battle plan, but she's quick to helping others in need and relaying any information she deems important for reaching safety/peace

RIYA — unfortunately because of what a clown she is presently, she's more the type to charge in first and ask questions later. someone else can certainly take charge but she has already thrown herself forward, probably into combat if it's that sort of danger. only time she may panic is during a medical emergency because she has no idea what to do then, she hasn't done any reading and could never grasp that type of magic. she knows how to shoot lightning from her fingertips but couldn't heal a papercut with a gun to her head lmfao

How does your oc’s own perception of themselves compare to how other people see them? Is your oc aware that other people see them differently (if it’s different)?

ELENA — so here’s a thing about elena. i think that in her formative years there was some kind of encounter with somebody where they reacted poorly (not horribly, but they didn’t address it properly) to elena expressing hesitation about some task she was asked to do, and it formed this huge part of her character right then and there with the natural “oh I don’t like making people sad” response combining with “oh I just have to do this and they’ll be happy”. add that on top of all the other general pressures and anxieties of hers that i’ve talked about before, and it’s created this scenario where elena tries to only present The Sunblessed to everybody. because in her mind they want to see the glowing darling who will cure their illnesses, heal their wounds, support those in need, chase down their damn missing cat if that's the emergency of the day—they certainly don’t want to see the lady who gets nervous in crowds, struggles with insecurities and very very rarely thinks about how life could be different. there aren’t very many people who see her differently from how she presents herself because they’ll only see her for small amounts of time here and there, so they truly only see the sweet divine girl happy to be of service, but for the folk who spend time with and get to know her then they’ll start to put some pieces together. ((the pieces being yeah she positively loves what she does but she doesn’t know how to say No and needs to find some fun for herself somewhere.))

RIYA — unfortunately she thinks that she’s a goddess walking the earth and isn’t very subtle about it, everyone and their mama’s know that riya thinks she’s on top of the world and the hottest person in each room she’s in. and i mean like,,,she’s not Entirely wrong. she’s incredibly popular in her social circles (and the circle itself bc duh) and people love her because she is incredibly fun at events or outings and knows how to put on a great show, plus her confidence and teasing can be quite endearing. there are for sure people who aren’t fans though, the folk who find her cockiness grating and wish she’d just go back to the circle where she’s supposed to be. i think that she’s selectively aware of how people view her if i’m honest lmfao. if she cares about a person’s opinion then she’ll be more open to vibechecking their connection to her, but if it’s someone she doesn’t like or considers an enemy then she straight up doesn’t care. doesn’t waste her time considering it.

and this is all without considering how much of a spoiled, pampered brat she’s going to appear as to the grey wardens :)

OH PLEASE. she gets so worked up in crowds, no particular horrible scene that sourced it tho. she just gets overwhelmed by the noise and the intrusion of her space and the usual mass amounts of attention, then she needs to book it to a room or somewhere quiet to take a breather and recharge. no number in mind, but if you start to qualify it as a medium crowd or bigger than she'll start to feel the anxiety creeping in.

How dangerous is your oc? Are they completely innocent, or someone to be feared? Do others know?

she has both divine and arcane magic at her fingertips so that makes her Technically dangerous, she's incredibly powerful on that front and only growing stronger as the game goes on,,,,But. she's so goddamn nice and a devout pelorian, which means she's forgiving, strives for peace and has a strong sense of mercy. one could fear what she's capable of, yet they'd never be worried about her going aggressive or burning them up before they're given a chance to talk.

How well can your oc keep secrets? Is there a difference between how they handle their own vs someone else’s? To what lengths would they go to keep something hidden?

elena would take a secret to the grave if she had to lmao. she herself takes a good while to share private things with others and so she feels deeply responsible in keeping the secrets of those who trust her with them. she's not about to commit a crime to keep it hidden, but she'll keep her lips zipped right up until the secret information is revealed, she's given permission to reveal it herself, or it's truly the Sole piece needed to help/protect someone.

How stylistically fancy is your oc? Or would they rather go for comfort and plainness instead?

fairly fancy due to the privilege of being noble and then the responsibility of looking presentable as The Sunblessed. she doesn’t have many plain articles in her wardrobe, and those are usually reserved for when she knows ahead of time that she’s going to get her outfit dirty or potentially ruined so she tosses on the basic bitches. outside of that her wardrobe is full of expensive pieces—details and embroidery that would have taken days to be completed by hand, so many accessories for her outfits and self that she couldn’t count them all, so many golden coats/cloaks/capes that she doesn’t know what to do with them all, etc etc. even her nightgowns are probably ridiculously expensive because the fabric is imported from somewhere else and given little details i’m sure. mama granger wants her daughter to look good, y’know. elena’s comfortable in it all so she doesn’t mind, though it does at times make her feel a bit :// when she’s out on breadgiving day and one of her shoes could easily feed the person she’s handing food to for quite some time.

If your oc was to host a TV show, what would it be about? Would your oc be good at it? What sorts of guests would appear?

tbh i don’t think it could ever been something over the top, maybe even something as simple as a “follow me around and see the daily life of the sunblessed” type of deal. it would be elena explaining and showing a perspective of the city that many others might not have, letting others in on how the pelorians go about helping the folk of whitestone, her daily tasks and the responsibilities that come along with being such a highly regarded figure of the city. lots of interactions with the working people and asking them to explain how they do their jobs, mostly members of the clergy, farmers and craftsmen. i think a large portion of the focus would be put onto other people, because elena’s own focus and care is on them so they’re the natural center piece. best parts are the shots of her dogs being cute 🥰 fun specials include attending fancy events, looks at how pelorian holidays are prepared for and held, then her questing time with the campaign party.

Can your oc play any instruments? Have they ever wanted to learn how to play any? Why?

nah, i don’t imagine she’s spent any time on such a thing so far in her life. she’d probably enjoy learning something like a lyre, harp or perhaps even piano, something light and pretty sounding. absolutely no in-character reason for it, solely because i myself simply think it suits her.

If you were to choose another name for your oc, what do you think it would be? Did you choose it for how it sounds or for its meaning?

oh boy, i never had any other options so this is a little side quest. perhaps clara (latin for: bright, clear) or leora (greek for: compassion, light). would have 100% been for the meaning because idk, that’s important to me for this particular girlie this time around. they also all sound v cute

How does your oc fare in the dark? Are they scared? Do they trip over things really easily or navigate like they have night vision? (Or do they have night vision?)

aasimar privilege she has that good good darkvision baybee. she’s never been afraid of the dark, and actually this is funny considering the question above, but i chose the name elena because it means “torch” and i immediately fell in love with the whole she’s a Light In The Darkness energy. which led to her halo radiating light and her eyes being glowy, on top of her cantrips almost all being light/flame related so she can keep things alight.

How well would your oc fare as a teacher? What subject would they be best at teaching? What about the worst?

does teaching calligraphy count? because i can already imagine she’s done that for a few folk lmao. other than that i can see her as a theolgian tbh, with one (1) real specialty but then broad knowledge on other deities. i imagine it’d go well enough if she didn’t have a large group to teach, she’s an excessively patient woman and would find great interest in engaging people over the various topics she’d cover.

ELENA — lights up the room 🥰🥰 but like. literally sometimes, because it's cute to imagine her little aasimar glow flaring up for a moment if she smiles big enough while full of joy. though those big and bright smiles are actually a bit rare, more often than not she'll instead have a gentle smile that draws more attention to the warmth of her eyes.

❤ : What are your muse’s thoughts on love? If they are not in a relationship, do they believe that they will ever find a perfect someone for them?

ELENA — she thinks it's adorable whenever she sees acts and gestures of love, has attended some weddings and probably blessed a handful of couples in her time, but she hasn't stopped to consider what it'd be like for herself. it's a combination of focusing on helping others constantly, making certain she lives up to everyone's high standards of the beloved sunblessed, and not letting anyone (besides two friends) close enough to reach that level of connection and intimacy that elena would need to form a romantic interest. she's soft enough to believe in folk having people meant for them, she'd surely believe it for herself when the time comes.

RIYA — that girl who's had multiple partners over the years (maybe a few at a time at some point lmao) and told them all that she loves them, and she meant it because she Cared for them but it wasn't a like…deep, true, long-lasting, or committing feeling. ya know?? she's always moving and always connecting, frequently lusting and chasing whoever attracts her interest, and sometimes they manage to keep it for a good while but usually she drifts after a time. never with any hard feelings on her end, but she's surely bruised a few hearts along the way. i don't think she's ever considered finding a perfect someone or a soulmate or anything along those lines, she might malfunction if she ever comes to that bridge tbh. tragically enough this does all apply to the boytoy  she was framed for killing, because even though they were making plans to run off together for various reasons, that certainly wasn’t a sustainable relationship and they would’ve broken things off eventually.
