Review: Real Men Love Cats
This post contains affiliate links*
The old saying “don’t judge a book by its cover” most definitely does not apply to Real Men Love Cats. I loved this book just as much as I love the title and the cover. The fourth and final book in Nic Tatano’s series about four friends and their four cats delivers romance, lovable human and feline characters and plenty of plot twists to keep you turning the pages.
I discovered Nic Tatano’s books earlier this year, when I read The Lost Cats and Lonely Hearts Club. In that book, network reporter Madison Shaw discovers a litter of four orphaned kittens. There are four women at the center of all the action in the book, Madison, and her best friends Tish, A.J. and Rory. When the kittens were old enough to go to their forever homes, guess where they went? The second book in the series The Empire State Cat’s Christmas Gift, features Tish and her kitten. The third book, The Sunshine Cat, is about A.J. and her cat Gypsy.
Real Men Love Cats is Rory’s story. She is very picky when it comes to men. In her opinion, Mister Right should check off some important boxes, and if “love me, love my cat” isn’t one of them, that’s a dealbreaker. Unfortunately, the men she’s been dating want nothing to do with her six-toed tabby, Hemingway. Can she find a man who loves her and loves cats?
When Rory meets the CEO of a cat food company, it looks like she just may have found the purrfect guy. But there’s another man in her life who seems all wrong for her. However, after he meets Hemingway, she starts to see him in a different light. Could Rory’s cat pave the way to love?
If you’re looking for a heart warming story that will make you smile and even laugh out loud, you’re going to love this book. The four friends and their cats will stay with you long after you turn the final page. I rarely re-read romance novels, but I’ve read this series a couple of times  – it’s just that good.
Real Men Love Cats is available from Amazon.
Read the entire series!
This fast moving romance is a delightful end to a wonderful series. It can be read as a stand alone, but why not read the other three books in the series as well? I guarantee you that you, too, will fall in love with A.J. Madison, Tish and Rory and their kittens. Click on each cover image below to order from Amazon (available for Kindle and in print.)

Review: The Sunshine Cat’s Choice
This post contains affiliate links*
I discovered Nic Tatano’s books earlier this year, when I read The Lost Cats and Lonely Hearts Club. In that book, network reporter Madison Shaw discovers a litter of four orphaned kittens. There are four women at the center of all the action in the book, Madison, and her best friends Tish, A.J. and Rory. When the kittens were old enough to go to their forever homes, guess where they went? The second book in the series The Empire State Cat’s Christmas Gift, features Tish and her kitten. I was delighted when Nic sent me an advance copy of The Sunshine Cat’s Choice, the newest book in the series.
A.J. Scaramucci’s runs the family deli on Staten Island. She knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to ask for it, but her love life has been sadly lacking in quality if not quantity. When a new business across the street brings two men into her life, she’s presented with a choice. A.J. is tired of dating losers. She wants a man who loves her like her cat Gypsy loves her – a man with “cat values.” Will Gypsy, who A.J. calls “my sunshine,” be able to help her human find true love with the right man?
Just like the first two books, I absolutely adored this one. The story has plenty of twists and turns. All of the characters are immensely likeable, and the relationship between A.J. and Gypsy is beautifully described. You can feel the love between the two come off the pages.
This book is special for more reasons than just that it’s a wonderful love story: it’s a tribute to the real Gypsy. Nic Tatano lost his special girl the end of May. The little torbie (tortoiseshell tabby) who showed up on his doorstep seven years ago became his writing companion, curling up on top of his shoes while he was writing outdoors. After Gypsy died, Nic missed her so much he couldn’t write a single word for three weeks. His wife suggested he work on a new cat book and make Gypsy a character. Since the first book already featured a tortie, and A.J. adopted the Russian Blue kitten in that book, the fictional Gypsy has a different coat than her namesake.
The real Gypsy
The Sunshine Cat’s Choice is available from Amazon for Kindle. And don’t worry if you don’t have a Kindle: Prime Reading works on any device with the free Kindle app for iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, PC and Mac.
This book can be read as a stand alone, but why not read the other two books in the series as well? I guarantee you that you, too, will fall in love with A.J. Madison, Tish and Rory and their kittens. Click on the book’s cover images below to order from Amazon (available for Kindle and in print.)

Review: The Lost Cats and Lonely Hearts Club
This post contains Amazon Associate links*
Reading contemporary romance novels is one of my guilty pleasures, and when the book features a cat, so much the better! The Lost Cats and Lonely Hearts Club by Nic Tatano is one of the most delightful books in the genre that I’ve come across in quite some time, and what’s even better, it’s part of a series. And it features a tortoiseshell kitten – how much better can a book get!
While covering a story, network reporter Madison Shaw discovers a litter of orphaned kittens. It’s Friday night, and all the shelters are closed, so she takes the kittens home. Suddenly, her glamorous life changes as she takes care of the kittens around the clock. When a video of her caring for the kittens goes viral, the resulting media circus has a domino effect on her career and her love life.
I loved this book so much! The story has enough twists and turns to keep you reading, the characters are immensely likeable, and the author’s love for cats comes through in the descriptions of how the kittens, especially the little tortoiseshell, worm their way into Madison’s heart. My only issue with the book is that the tortie is a male, and the author never mentions that male torties are extremely rare. I kept hoping that at some point in the book, somebody was going to point this out to Madison, but that never happened.
There are four women at the center of all the action in the book, Madison, and her best friends Tish, Rory and AJ. There were four kittens in the litter Madison rescued, and when they were old enough to go to their forever homes, guess where they went? And there is a second book by Tatano, The Empire State Cat’s Christmas Gift, featuring Tish and her kitten, which I just started reading. I’m really hoping that there will be a third and fourth book, featuring Rory and AJ and the remaining kittens.
If you enjoy lighthearted romance, you will absolutely love this book.
