(Mem., get recipe for Mina.) I asked the waiter, and he said it was called “paprika hendl,” and that, as it was a national dish, I should be able to get it anywhere along the Carpathians.

I had for breakfast more paprika, and a sort of porridge of maize flour which they said was "mamaliga," and egg-plant stuffed with forcemeat, a very excellent dish, which they call "impletata." (Mem., get recipe for this also.)

Recipe blog casually interrupted by nightmares and the howling of wild dogs. I’m sure it’s nothing.

-and opening the heavy window with one wrench of his terrible hand, he flung out the glass, which was shattered into a thousand pieces on the stones of the courtyard far below. Then he withdrew without a word. It is very annoying, for I do not see how I am to shave, unless in my watch-case or the bottom of the shaving-pot, which is fortunately of metal.

Today, Jonathan explores the unique joy of living with someone who has extremely arbitrary house rules. No mirror for Jonathan :(

Aww what a cute couple, helping one of them pack for their first big job! I sure hope his trip goes well. It would be a real shame if it didn’t... am I right?
