RAW is WAR Starting a peaking program next week to prep for a raw meet, so decided to see where my raw strength is at prior to starting. Squat: Got 415 for an easy single in wraps, but missed 465. Bench: 325 for a dirty 10lb PR, I'll take the win but plenty to clean up here. Deadlift: 455 for a fast single but missed 475. Not bad coming off of a meet less than 2 weeks prior. October 31, 2020 Circa Max Bench That's some mighty fine benching! Last time in the shirt before the meet. 363 for a solid opener and 407 to a 1 board. Looks like I finally fixed my butt lift problem, I can drive with my legs and my rear stays locked down. This change is just in time for the meet. It's all coming together. Max effort bench Some heavy bench work from yesterday, max effort to a 2 board. 465 for a speedy clean single and a new PR of 505 for a dirty slow single. 10lb 2 board PR. Back downs of 355 to a 2 board for 3×3 and then 305 for 3×5 off the chest. Oh hey cool I can do sets of 5 over 300 off the chest now. SBD/Mini Mock Meet Late night of lifting last night, did this same thing by accident last year for my raw meet and it helped me adjust my attempts and guage my fatigue level prior to the platform. This year going in equipped it's even more important. Squat: Opener at 507 and projected 2nd at 540 with reverse bands in 2.5M wraps. Felt like I cut these a little high but they don't look so bad. Bench: Dicey 385 after squats, think I'm going to cut my opener to 363 at the meet. Took a few tries but finally got a clean 407, looks like a good 2nd attempt. Set a messy PR of 429.9, basically 430. Small 5lb PR on bench, might be worth trying as a 3rd or going for 435. Deadlift: Took same weight that I benched for 3 singles. This looks and feels like a good opener over my previous projected 451. Gym total: 1399.9 Can I add 100.1 lbs to this in a month? We'll find out! Fatigue: 7/10 Lots of nagging pains by the time I got to deadlifts but didn't slow me down or hinder me. Dynamic Squats/Circa Max Deadlifts 5×5 at 275 with the SSB for speed box squats. 5 reps sure felt hard but 5 sets went by quick. Pulled 420 for 2 singles, one with straps down and one with straps up. Circa Max Lower Bit of a mixed day, five singles at 385 + 40lbs in chains on each side. Set this up perfect as the chains fully deloaded at the bottom. Using SSB to keep rotor healthy even though it was supposed to be straight bar. Dynamic deadlifts after of 6×2 at 209 against mini bands. Max Effort Bench Saturday night benching done right! Tied up some reverse bands and had a come getcha some night. Took 325 raw then threw on the slingshot and took 325/345/375/and 385 for a top set. 385 matches my projected opener in a shirt so things are lining up well. Back downs of 275 raw with the bands for triples. Dynamic Squats/Max Effort Deadlifts 6×4 with the SSB Yoke at 305 with mini bands to start the day and then max effort 4" block pulls. Found out by happy accident that the SSB unracks itself when you stand up and clears the rack so didn't need the mono to run today. Block pulls went well, 455 and 495 with speed, never seen 495 move that fast before actually. Went up to 515 and pulled it with gusto, and then made an attempt at 525. Missed it by technique error the first time but got it on the second pull. Backdowns of 475 with straps down for three singles. Didn't look bad but didn't feel great. Dynamic Bench Pre hab continues, not a lot of pain today but plenty of stiffness. 8×3 with the Titan Swiss bar to a 2 board foam at 225 with @elitefts minis. 225 is the most weight I've had on this bar for dynamic work and it moved well, so my triceps must be getting pretty beefy.
