Levantamento Terra Sumô - Sumo Deadlift. Exercício Básico Multiarticular, uma variação do Levant. Terra convencional (pés paralelos). Ele também é um dos exercícios de força usado nos campeonatos de Powerlifiting( vídeo @valescarocha_powerlifting ) e no Crossfit e Strong Men. O Sumo Deadlift é uma variação com uma postura de perna muito mais larga do que o Deadlift convencional. Os levantadores realizam o exercício com as mãos dentro das coxas, em vez de fora como no caso do convencional Excelente exercício para ganho de força e hipertrofia geral, exige muita técnica no movimento pode ser usado com iniciantes. O Sumo Deadlift coloca menos estresse na região lombar. Para realizar o levantamento corretamente, você precisará adotar uma posição de tronco mais ereta. O posicionamento de seus pés o forçará a essa postura se você quiser completar cada repetição. Isso coloca muito menos estresse na região lombar. O Sumô coloca mais pressão nos glúteos por causa da rotação interna do quadril e adutores e quadríceps internos (vastus medialis) também devem trabalhar mais do que durante o Deadlift convencional. So let's talk deadlifts ⚰️💀🩸
Many ways to skin a cat 🐈🫢🧟
Sumo - legs wide, hand grip narrow, feet pointing outwards (external rotation of hips)
Conventional - hands wider than legs, I like to have my feet pointing forwards
Both involve engaging your latissimus dorsi (lats) to protect your spine
A coaching tip I like to give my clients is to squeeeeeeze your bum as you lift - ensures you are lifting with your glutes and not your lower back
Another no no is to lift your shoulders before your glutes are engaged as you lift - if you lift your shoulders you will recruit your lower back which is not the aim of this exercise - focus is on glutes and hamstrings

Meet Recap It was a hot day and I was fired up! Highs and lows all over in this meet. Squats: Got called high on 507 so had @notmrsdonjohnson help me with depth and secured my first 500+ squat in the books. Bench: Took 385 for an easy opener and the pressed 402 to secure my first 400+ bench in the books. Took 424 for my 3rd and got red lights. I think I could take this again in November and get it. Deadlift: Ran late coming back and had to throw my opener. @notmrsdonjohnson coming in clutch again and helped me warm up in 2 sets, then took 435 for an easy opener and took my token 457 for the day. Guess I'll have to wait until November to beat my 474. Despite some set backs I still took home the gold for the 220 equipped open division. 5/9, 11lb meet PR on squat, 39 meet PR on bench, 1366 total, 33lb meet PR for total. Still chasing 1400 in November. Extra special thanks to @jennmxiong for supplying extra snacks and drinks, recording, keeping me fed, and running all the way back home to get my singlet because I'm dumb and forgot it.
