Celebrating a #RingWarmingCeremony. I was asked how do you do the ring on a string thing. Well the practicalities are important! Guests seated in rows is doable, but it is easiest if they form a large spiral, horseshoe, semicircle or circle. A ribbon, still on its spool, is then passed around so that everyone is in contact with it. Top tip: make someone clearly responsible for each end of the ribbon so that it is not let go! ;-) If the rings are sized so that one can pass through the centre of the other, they can travel in opposite directions from either end, on to the other ends of the ribbon…. otherwise the rings can travel together. Everyone is invited to touch the rings and warm them, as they pass along their journey. Guests can offer a word of blessing, or have a thought or special wish for the couple getting married. In this way the rings become warmed with positive energy that can never be destroyed. This is a beautifully simple opportunity to involve everyone in a quiet moment of contemplation, goodwill and love for the couple.
