Next moment, I reach to pick him up so I could put him back and... he's gone.

I tore quite a lot of my clutter from the floor looking for him, especially along the walls.

See, he only comes out when it's so dark that I need to use flash and he hates flash or basically any kind of light (Shin doesn't care).

I know leopard geckos shouldn't be on sand. I had Campy on sand when I first got him because it's what was recommended, but I changed him to carpet one winter when he was having some trouble.

Recently, I decided to try a little experiment and put a small dish of calcium sand in each gecko's "bathroom" area as a litterbox of sorts.

Shin - who was moved straight onto carpet and had never been on sand - immediately stomped all over it, but after the initial exploration, just uses it as intended and doesn't make a mess.

Then there's this butthead.

Now he's just craned up and pressing his nose against the door so it's time to let him out for a little while.

#dai leezrds #snek hohorito #sometimes i worry he might have something when he acts weird #but he eats fine and moves around fine and doesn't seem to be in any distress #he'll just occasionally push on the door for a minute or two #and if i open it he'll just casually come right out and go about his usual puttering #I'm pretty sure if he was stargazing he'd do it anywhere and not exclusively to the door

Campy is very difficult to take pictures of because he's always hiding, and when he is out, he detests any attempts to get enough lighting on him for clear photos.

Shin is a ham.
