Ep.2 Choo family at Nara Park (Osaka, Japan)

(31:47) To celebrate Sarang’s 2nd birthday, she and her family went to Nara Park. Since Seunghoon’s parents are from Osaka, they just took the train going to Nara station. But if you’re from...
..Tokyo, 1. In Shinagawa Station, get on the Tokkaido-Sanyo Line and ride Nozomi <のぞみ> (bullet train) and get off at Kyoto.  2. Once you reach Kyoto, you have to transfer to the Kintetsu Line (much closer to Nara Park than the other option, JR Nara Line) and get off at Kintetsu Nara Station.
..Other location, 1. Ride any train that can get you to Kyoto. 2. From Kyoto, do everything from above as follows.
You can walk (5 minutes) yourself from the station to Nara Park. Or you can either ride the Nara City Inner Loop Bus, 100 Yen Gurutto Buses (much cheaper!), Nara Kotsu Sightseeing Bus or just rent a bicycle (Nara Rent-a-Cycle). If you are good at walking then you can just enjoy strolling around the park but if you’re someone who gets tired easily but still wants to enjoy the whole park (which is pretty big!) then we suggest to ride the bus or rent a bicycle. The difference between the two is that the bus has routes (depending on which type you want to ride) while you can roam freely with the Rent-a-Cycle.
TIP! Find NARA Visitor Center and Inn near Sarusawa-ike Pond for information, cultural activities and events and other services provided by multilingual staffs.

There are about 1,000+ wild deer walking around Nara Park. They can be seen roaming freely around the park but some mostly hangs around Kofukuji, Todaiji or anywhere near stalls selling deer snacks.
INFO! Mid May-July is the birthing season of deer. Expecting mothers and babies are kept in a shelter, Rokuen, to protect both deer and people from hurting each other during this sensitive season. Another reason is mothers can reject their newly birthed babies if they have human contact. However, starting June 1st until the 30th, the shelter will be open to the public so that visitors may see the fawns. Anyone 18 and below are free while adults are worth¥300.
