So many people are interpreting the “After the Final, let’s end this” quote as something negative, but honestly, I didn’t really feel any major hardcore negative vibes from this. I kinda took it two ways:

1) After the Final, Victor and Yuuri both officially retire from competitive skating and live their lives happily together. 2) After the Final, Victor returns to skating and resigns from being Yuuri’s coach. And the two of them could possibly compete against each other in future competitions while still remaining close to one another. The two “break up” professionally, not romantically and personally.

I could be completely wrong but this is just what I think ^^ And I don’t think the staff would do something as serious as dropping the drama at the very end of the series.
