For LEC, it's all about that top-jg synergy
But for LCK, mid-jg reigns supreme (I am perma-sad especially with the recent news about Bengi ㅠㅠ)

this one's been sitting around for uh. well actually i don't wanna talk about it. life happened. i'm back now. for how long? no idea. we'll see. comments feed my ego and motivation though so if you want me to write more feel free to leave me one (or don't. you can make me cry too that's fine)
ruination might be over but the pain sure isn't :)

Hey Cee! I'm the League of Legends anon and I still follow you! I'm very happy you're into League esports now, I hope you're having fun following things there :) Who are you going to support on the next Worlds? I'm a filthy T1 enjoyer but the group stages are so stacked this year... Hehe thank you for keeping ppl updated on your League endeavors and I hope you're having a nice day <3
OH MY GOD HI YOU’RE STILL AROUND!!!! DM me for real like not just on anon I only have like two friends who care about league esports and I need another person to be excited with 🥺🥺🥺 anyways putting this under a readmore because this is obviously an owl/overwatch blog
Add meeee I promise I’m not intimidating or anything.
But also with regards to teams I’d want to see win I’m a more player oriented person so I’m not necessarily attached to any one team in particular, I just want interesting games.
I think it’s INCREDIBLY funny how C9 got first seed for NA after like the fastest (2nd actually I think) LCS playoffs 3-0 over 100T, only to be put in what is arguably the most difficult group for worlds when 100T most likely ended up in the easiest. I mean how unlucky do you have to be to be the best NA team immediately thrown to the wolves of the reigning champs from last year and fucking T1 of all teams… RIP C9 you had a good run 😔
Tumblr media
If anything it’s easier to have a fav from each group to hopefully move on based on players I respect.
Group A: T1 (impossible not to root for the Michael Jordan of esports + I’ve always respected SKT T1 before even being into esports in general when I was just a regular Video Game Enjoyer™ because even without much knowledge of league it was still so clear how great they were, EDG is a close second… sorry C9 I love the color blue and am happy that NA is in a decent place this year but of the three you’re my least fav. Again just unlucky placement in group stages. If you were in C or D it’d be easy.)
Group B: DK. (Showmaker exists. What more can I say)
Group C: no particular fav, but rogue maybe because I want to see some more orianna
Group D: GEN.G (how the fuck does Chovy CS that well in pro matches? He’s not human I s2g)
I also have a favorite team for play-ins which is just “LOUD” from CBLOL/Brazil since my boyfriend is Brazilian :) I always love an underdog region making it far so I’d be ecstatic if they can make it to the top of play-ins
Anyways this was a hell of a ramble but I’m just tired so. Thank you if you made it this far anon I’m serious DM me pleaaaase

DK catches Brion in streak, extends winning streak to four
Tumblr media
It was a matchup between two teams that were victims of the DDoS attack: DePlus Kia (DK), who were in the middle of the delay, and Brion, who had to return to their lodgings after nearly eight hours of waiting. DK extended their winning streak to four games, putting the brakes on Brion's bid for a third straight victory.
DK defeated Brion 2-0 in the second round of the LOL Champions Korea (LCK) Spring 2024 on Monday afternoon at the LCK Arena in Jongno, Seoul, thanks to the performances of "Showmaker" Heo "Showmaker" Heo-soo, "Aiming" Kim "Aiming" Haram, and "Kinggen" Hwang "Kinggen" Sung-hoon, who became the 14th player in the LCK to reach 500 career wins.
DK's four-game winning streak was extended to six wins (5 L, +3 G) and a half-game lead over fourth-place KT (6 L, +4 G). Brion, on the other hand, saw their winning streak come to a halt at '2' and suffered their ninth loss of the season (2WG, -15).
DK dominated the first set perfectly. With Arox-Maokai-Azir-Kalista-Renata Glass, DK dominated the bot lane against Brion, who opted for Jax and Hway as sniper picks, setting the stage for the snowball.
Once the growth gap between the two teams became clear, Heo "Showmaker" Soo-soo, who once again played a tanky Azir with Exploit Azir, took the full brunt of the opponent's onslaught in the objective duel, helping DK to a big win. With not only a dragon but also an ace in play, DK rode the momentum and naturally continued the flow to Baron Burst.
Brion players rushed in to stop DK's Nasher Baron hunt, but the Baron buffed DK extended the global gold gap to 10,000 with two engagements and wrapped up the first set with an 11-0 run at 28:15.
Set two saw Hwang "KingGen" Seong-hoon, the first top laner in the league, take out his top Smolder 스포츠토토 and shake up Brion from the ban pick stage. The game was relatively tense until the growth of the Smolder, but as the stack grew stronger and stronger, DK's power overwhelmed Brion.
Eventually, DK gained the upper hand in the one-hit compositions and, just like in the first game, quickly widened the gap, effectively sealing the game. With the Baron buff, the gold gap exceeded 10,000, and the game came to a close at 32-minutes as Brion's champions fell helplessly to the raging tide of DK champions.

My (Personal) Favorite LCK Teams for the 2024 Season
1. KT Rolster
My beloved coinflip team! I love all of them, from certified class clowns Pyosik and BeryL to chill veterans Deft and Bdd to rookie PerfecT who's honestly just along for the ride. Their games are so fun, and their team energy is exactly the same as five random guys who queue up together on weekends (the jokes, the "ohh!"s, how supportive they all are). To top it all off, their gameplay is so unpredictable that you never know what to expect from them, regardless of whether they're playing the top ranked team or the 10th place one, making them all the more entertaining to watch. There's only one guarantee in a KT match, and that's that you're in for a show. I'm incredibly e-word to see how they play out the rest of this season, and I am very much rooting for them to make Worlds come autumn (especially knowing what DRX pulled in 2022 with three of these same players).
2. T1
Given my username, this is no shocker - in fact it's a bit surprising that T1 isn't in the top spot - but I am so hype for the third
consecutive year of this T1 starting line-up. Faker has been playing phenomenally this split, and when accompanied by the legendary Mat-and-Pat Oner-Zeus on the top side of the map, supported by the best bot duo in the world, Gumayusi-Keria, I can't wait to see how far these reigning World champions will go in tournaments this year. Watching them thrive always feels so satisfying. Although part of me doubts it, I'm hoping that if they play well enough this year, there's a chance that we might even get the same roster yet again in 2025 (and then honestly just send all of T1 to Asia Games in 2026?), but I'm getting too ahead of myself - for now I just hope they all play well this year. T1, fighting!
3. Tie Between GenG and DK
Canyon and ShowMaker divorced and split custody of this ranking, what can I say. I have always loved watching ex-Damwon, now D Plus Kia, although in recent years it has very much felt like the Canyon-and-ShowMaker-show. Now that Canyon is on GenG, DK has become simply "ShowMaker and his posse", although it has been working fairly well for them. I am a big fan of Lucid and have loved watching all his highs and lows this split - he has my vote for rookie of the year to be sure. Then, ofc, there's the villains of every T1 fanstory: the Church of Chovy. His plays are so clean that I can't help but be a fan of him, though. Then, of course, there's the legendary Lehends my beloved. Truly the Holy Ghost of supports, to BeryL's Father and Keria's Son. I'm glad that he and Peyz have started working on their synergy a bit more because I am counting on either GenG or T1 to win MSI so that all four of these favorite teams can make worlds this year :)
Honorable mention goes to OK Brion (especially Our Lord Morgan) for being so fun and resilient - watching their Mic Checks always makes me crack up. I have been a BROliever since the start of the season and I was absolutely thrilled that they were able to get some matches under their belt, so although it's highly unlikely that they'll make it to any international tournaments this year, I am wishing them well in the upcoming LCK Summer Split.
