No matter how many events I organise, how many tweets I retweet, how many facts and pictures I post, I only reach a fracture of the shippers.

Because dude I‘m in this fandom for more than 15 years, and more than ten with the ship. I've written hundred thousands of words about them. I've written essays and fanfictions and headcanons.

Meanwhile I've seen ships come and go. I have seen fans come and go. I have seen people trying to attack my ship and all they got was getting fucking ripped a new one!

I stayed.

I continued to organise to be there, to interact to write and draw...

And still after all these years I fucking try to be better.

I started with the usual „what?! Why would you ship two guys?! They aren‘t gay!! They hate each other!!“ and now I‘m at „You want ro headcanon my otp as T4T and gay? Sure. Go for it! As long as you have fun who am I to judge?“

And still not once did I come to someones in-box and told them annoying shit.

No offense I guess but why do you and other Kataangers let ZKers walk all over you? Kataang isn't my OTP but I like it and every time I go into the Kataang tag there's like 1000000 billion comments about why Aang sucks and why Kataang was horrible from ZKers. I just went into the ZK tag and I saw one that was the opposite about that in 100s of posts and the ZK fans got on that person's ass so much they deactivated.

I get not wanting drama but it's giving that you don't want to defend this ship for some reason and tbh that's how ships, even popular canon ones, die. New people come in all excited, then see that bullshit and no one calling it out and think "Oh well maybe Kataang does suck and ZK is better. I'll go over there."

So, anon, I get what you're saying here but also I have my tags so carefully curated that most of the time I'm not even seeing the drama you speak of. I don't go into the comments on posts. I am literally just here to enjoy and create content for the sweeties and that's it. I don't want the time I spend in fandom to be filled with drama and stress so I block a LOT of tags, and I know most of my kataang-shipping friends do the same. If someone came onto one of my (or my friends') posts or into my inbox with drama you can bet I would defend kataang to the death but also I truly don't think that bullying people to the point of deactivation/forcing them out of fandom over ship wars is acceptable ever. That's just not a behavior I would like to emulate.

Kataang as a ship is not going to "die." It might not get as many hits or as much content as popular fanon ships, but that's because the *majority* of fans see what we get in canon and are happy with it. They don't find the need to seek out or create more content because kataang is CANON. It HAPPENED. And for the most part, those of us who *are* in fandom to create and seek out more sweetie content are here because we love our ship and it's FUN and we want to explore it even more. We aren't here to fight anyone or bash any other ships (and, on the rare occasion we engage with ship wars, it never changes anyone's mind. It just raises blood pressures, and that's not healthy for anyone). As a good fandom friend said to me, we focus on the things we love about our ship and not on hating others, and that's NOT going to change (for me at least).

I'll also say that no ship's fandom is perfect. I've seen a lot of toxic behavior from every side of the aisle, kataang shippers included. I myself have made many mistakes. I am always trying to learn and grow and be better, but I know that's not an overnight journey. I don't want to add to the toxicity, though, by picking unnecessary fights over a canon ship. If other people don't like it, that's their prerogative. Ship and let ship and block everything you don't want to see and your fandom time will be a happy one, anon. Just saying.

This KoryBlood thing is getting out of hand, it started as something fun and funny, just to see two hot people interact and to see Dick get a little jealous as someone else makes a comment about Kory in front of him. I don’t know what corner everyone is hanging out on, but on Twitter or here all I’ve seen is people wanting Blood to make a pass at her, not derail the entire DK ship or assault her. 🙄 Obviously Kory is gonna see right through all the bullshit. And Titans does a lot of crazy shit but they’d never do that. In S1 when DK slept together Dick and Kory took one shot before Dick snatched that bottle out of her hand so they could fuck sober. DK is getting together next season and nothing is gonna get in the way of that.

Like I said many many times Kory and Blood flirting or him making statements is cool but I don't want her touched while she's not in control of her own body. I plainly said that if she fell for him that would only happen if he lied to her or mind-controlled her. Hypothetically say she did and he didn't follow that up with touching her guess what...no sexual assault took place. That is a very specific scenario I said I don't want to see. i know the discourse is done so you dont have to answer this if you dont want to, but i think the difference between people not reacting over your jj opinions and people reacting over your hotchreid opinions is when you criticized jj you didnt say people who liked her sucked somehow or that they needed "therapy" for liking a character but with hotchreid you didnt just say oh i dont like it for these reasons you added in "jokes" about the people who would disagree with you

im not even a hotchreid but i know some of my moots who are but don't like the creepy or inappropriate content have gotten anon hate for liking it at all or for not being as supportive of the others and that hate has said a lot of the same stuff you did (and worse)

idk if you can tell but a lot of my opinions in this fandom are pretty unpopular. my experiences in other fandoms (like star wars) has made me extremely wary and uncomfortable around people who like shipping young characters with their mentors, so i may be more sensitive than i should be about the topic. but i dont think the actions of other people who agree with me who do target people and send hate justify sending me anon hate saying what ive done is equivalent.

this is going to be the last i say on the matter because i think i was pretty patient yesterday explaining my position—probably more patient than i should’ve been. i really dont want to hurt peoples feelings, so i tried to be genuine and honest about what i meant and why i said what i said the way i said it. and as important as i think it is to be cordial and open to discussion—its very easy to misconstrue intent on social media because it’s not as easy to ask “what did you mean by that?” when something rubs you the wrong way—i also don’t want to let people walk all over me and insist that actually im bullying them for posting an opinion on my blog that they disagree with. if you dont like what i say? unfollow! block, if you must! im not forcing you to see my posts and im not saying everyone has to agree with me

This behavior even looks ridiculous to most people in highschool. And i don't know about you, but i graduated high school a LONG fucking time ago. Actually more than an entire K-12 over again ago.
