There truly is nothing in this world that pulls on my heart like this sweet little babe right here. ✨ She was not a rescue, and she’s made it quite clear she will NOT be welcoming to another animal coming into our home. Putting her safety at risk is something we refuse to do. Dusty may be small but has ZERO fear (y’all when she was 5 months old she ATTACKED her friend: HUGE boxer) HOWEVER!!! On the 4th of July so many dogs run away from home out of fear. And because of that, the shelters are amping up how many dogs they are euthanizing. And it makes me SICK! If you’ve seen my stories, or click my “Animals” highlights, you’ll of course see babies that need help. BUT ALSO there is a movement happening to protect the shelter pets: Four for the Fourth! Cats and dogs need to be fostered for 4 days for the 4th of July from shelters so they aren’t killed while the dogs and cats with homes are kept there until their families find them. We 100% will be opening our doors to a dog or a cat or both for those 4 days. & I am looking into the possibility of then returning them to a NO KILL shelter. I personally couldn’t emotionally handle pulling an animal from a shelter that kills the animals, and then return them there. I’ll know more about that process and how it works soon and will post a blog.💕 But I BEG you: if you can open your home for FOUR days to save a life: PLEASE DO! Contact the kill shelters and find a dog or a cat that you can pull for FOUR DAYS ONLY to keep alive! Here are some shelters we need to pull from: Baldwin Hills, Carson, North Central, Chesterfield Square, & Moreno Valley. AND TO MAKE SURE AS A PET PARENT YOU DO NOT ADD TO THIS INFLUX: keep your animals safe! LOCK all doors and windows. Cover the windows so they can’t jump through them (they do!)
