Could she have more bad luck today? Or perhaps it wasn’t as bad as she thought?

Nunnally was almost sure a faint pink crept on her cheeks (or perhaps it was more of dark red), but her voice was (still) confident, when she greeted him offering a small curtsy: --

She reached her small pale hand towards her unexpected companion: --

“Dangerous living, My Lord? Why would you say so?” – perhaps because he rightly figured out that you’re into a small escapade, Nunnally. Unchaperoned. Unguarded. Not something a woman, nor a princess, should do in the eyes of many – “I wouldn’t say that. I have just intended to take this mare for a small ride.” – she couldn’t force herself to lie that she would not leave the paddock. Or to provide him some explanation why there was no guards. With Midna back on her throne, there was a lot for her to do here in the Twilight Realm. She wanted to prove to her people that she could be a better princess, a better queen, than she showed when she was exiled from her world. It was utterly boring to have so much royal work to get done, but it wasn’t like she had a choice.

The princess glanced up from her work when she sensed the wolven man’s gaze on her. Purple lips curled at the edges in an amused smirk—yes, there was a jolt of guilt every time she looked at the poor “hero” and what he has become, but his presence was still a pleasant one.

“What? Is something on your mind~?” Midna asked as her smirk grew just a bit, amused by the look of exasperation in his eyes. “Are you sad I’m too busy to play with you now~?” It was kind of cute, actually… The little pout he gave her, a sign that her “wolf” needed some attention.

            ❝  i hope you never get enough  .  ❞  ⸻  perhaps it's his possessiveness  ,  perhaps it's his insecurity . . . but he hopes that milin can never get enough of him  ,  that milin will be so addicted to him that the younger keeps returning to him  .  hands splayed over the other's naked torso  ,  tooru's brows furrows as he wallows in his thoughts  .               he WAS popular at a point in time . . . had a girlfriend  ,  never attached much to the relationship  .  he was carefree and didn't put effort into the relationship  ,  not as much as he did VOLLEYBALL  .  that was the cause of the breakup and tooru just never dated since then . . . he found it a distraction when there was someone else demanding his attention and effort  .  he had much more important things to handle  (  such as conquering all of the japanese volleyball scene  )  .              since when did he become so attached  ??  so fearful to lose milin to someone else  ??               a wry grimace takes to his lips  ,  enough to signal whatever quiet thoughts that tooru was having  ,  all the while his hands wander the other's skin gently and tenderly  .  perhaps when tooru lost all hope in ever playing volleyball . . . so much so that he had to finally start making human connections and put meaning behind relationships beyond teammates and coworkers . . . beyond his small group of trusted friends . . . he had to relearn making human connections and rediscover emotions beyond obsession and competitiveness  .             and perhaps that's why he was so desperate to keep milin  .  knowing the FRAGILITY of connections  ,  especially when it came to matters of love  .  perhaps that's why he grows jealous  ,  not only of others around milin but of milin himself . . . yes  .  oikawa tooru is both desperate for and jealous of milin . . . an ugly thought  .              ah  ,  he's reminded of just how UGLY he could be sometimes  ;  especially when it came to the matters of his heart  .  he remembers how threatened he felt with kageyama . . . the desperate plight to beat karasuno . . . the jealousy boiling in his gut when he sees healthy athletes . . . yes  .  oikawa tooru is an ugly man  .  pretty on the outside  ,  but wholly rotten on the inside  .  he discovered this when he was relearning how to be a functional member of society . . .             his mind wanders and as does his hand . . . it's not until the gentle and soothing call of milin's voice  ,  his own name hung upon the lips of his lover's that tooru's attention snaps back to the present and he sees the WORRY in milin's eyes  .  ❛  yes  .  good  .  keep looking at me  .  keep worrying about me  .  keep thinking about me  .  ❜  these ugly thoughts orbit his mind  .             leaning down  ,  hands moving to cup milin's visage  ,  ❝  nothing  ,  milin  .  i'm okay  .  ❞  he lies  .
