This was one of those images that was random but it spoke to what I was feeling on the day I was shooting it. I knew I wanted to start doing my self portraits again and I had just gotten a new dress for an event and I wanted to shoot in it. But then the pose wasn’t working, my idea wasn’t translating. I nearly fell of my chair multiple times. I was getting really frustrated and hot and sweaty. So I just sat on the floor and did whatever else just to get some photos and this was one of them. I usually shoot on a self timer and I have my phone so I can see what the image looks like. But I just threw my phone after pressing the button. And it worked. It got what I was feeling in that moment. I love elaborate photos but sometimes the simplest is the best for me. Because it is telling exactly what was happening in that moment. Gina wanted to do a full body composite into an ai image involving ferns and orchids. This was quite a difficult shot to get right. I've composited in faces, arms, etc, but not the full body. I took the ai image and used it as an overlay in CamRanger so we could get the pose and angle right. Then I had to composite it over the ai model. Getting the colors right and the blending actually took a lot of trial and error of what I usually encounter.
