rewatching season 1 i honestly forgot how often they just... didn’t dub the screams???

and honestly it’s also quite noticable since german lloyd has a slightly deeper less nasally(?) voice

it’s also time to get ready for all the fangtom fails because the german dub repeatedly forgets which head has which voice. or sometimes that the heads have different voices.

i also realised once again how bad the german dub is with names. great devourer is just the great snake master because in my opinion “der große Verschlinger” sounds more like that one kid in school that would try to steal your lunch and more stupid than threatening

also darkley’s is just “the boarding school”. i only knew the name because of the fandom lmao. i could go on a whole entire tangent on all the times the german dub:

a) just doesn’t dub stuff like screams and general fighting noises (though that gets better in later seasons)

b) just fucks up the voices by forgetting who is who (fangtom’s heads, krux and arconix, the ninja sometimes, wu and garmadon too at one point though it was a one off but they forgot for an entire scene not just a line like with the others)

c) refuse to name stuff and only if they absolutely have to (the bounty is just “the ship (or sometimes wind glider)” but becomes the “black bounty” when garmadon takes it over (like still the english name))

d) name stuff and forget what they named it (deepstone and vengestone both become deepstone in later seasons???, the great devourer gets refered to as “großer Schlangenmeister” throughout most of season 1 but is “der große Verschlinger” in season 6)
