i’ve seen so many people describe dick as “he fights like jazz” and i don’t really get it (english isnt my first language), could you explain it for me please?

The way Dick fights is so fluid and graceful but very well trained. He's so good at fighting he's able to switch between multiple different fighting styles and techniques so fluidly that it feels like he's dancing but with random sharp beats thrown in to catch the enemy off-guard.

Jazz is known for its complex harmony, off-beat rhythm, and its heavy improvisation. So what Midnighter is saying here along with everyone else is that Dick's so good at adapting his fighting technique to match his opponents style so easily that nothing fazes him/surprises him. He's good at changing it up.

Jazz is also known for its syncopated rhythm. Syncopated/syncopation means something that disturbs the music from the regular. In terms of fighting style, he's saying that it's hard for people to adjust to Dick's fighting because he's able to change it up so easily so that his enemy won't ever get comfortable with him enough to beat him.
