sorry it's incredibly jarring to hear janeway compare the doctor to a replicator 5 years into their journey. he's a program that's clearly as sentient as an artificially intelligent being like data. it is so bizarrely not-janeway to have her say that about any new form of sentient life, let alone a member of her crew?? like what is going on?
