I've been chipping away at reading Naruto still, I'm 10 volumes in at this point (yes, Rock Lee vs Gaara was exactly as peak as everyone promised it would be.)

But I think the main thing I really love about Kishimoto's work is how graphic and clear the environments always feel. There's a cleanness and clarity to simple/no backgrounds, but I adore how much attention is still paid to depicting the beauty of these otherworldly ninja villages. Even without much actual plot significance still shots like these breathe so much life to the story.

OK YESTERDAY I WAS LOOKING AT THE ONE DRAMA CD THAT MENTIONS THE TOP MEN WHO ARE LIKED BY WOMEN IN NARUTO AND. WHY. ISNT. NEJI. ONE. OF. THEM.

he fits ALL the criteria (generally unapproachable, uninterested in women bc he is gay, high status (hes literally the only jonin in the 12), high clan background, kekkei genkai AND super talented, and his hair is PEAK.)

so literally tje only explanation is bad writing abd they hate neji. every single argument i tjought of applied to one of the other guys (gaara, kakashi, sasuke). women in naruto are ALL suffering from comphet bc tgese dudes are NOT interesred. and neji shiykd havr been one of them.
