you ever think about how darkwing has the fearsome four, and a rogues gallery beyond that ? whys gizmoduck only get the beagle boys and beaks (and atmoz fear i guess) ? i think every superhero needs a bit of proper enrichment, and despite st canard’s reputation duckburg’s definitely not short on weirdos

so i made some gizmorogues ! we’ve got jewel-swiping wannabe crime legend diamentia, with her comedic relief prone henchman honks; creepy crawly and vaguely supernatural menace botfly; sympathetic but still formidable automaton lugnut; and last but definitely not least cold and calculating evil scientist dr. anthrax !

ive had them kind of stewing around in my mind for a while now so im glad to finally be posting them !! thanks to the conclusion of the show i can just pretend they were real and canon the whole time

I feel like I might be a bit irritating asking dumb questions all the time but which gizmorouge would fenton take to McDonald's

not irritating at all ! so while lugnut is objectively kind of the chillest rogue and probably the one who gets along with fenton the most/easier he cant really eat food (or at least, he doesnt get anything out of it), so i think that leaves the automatic second place of honks (and thus diamentia, since one is never far behind the other)

i think its a kind of "last request before getting carted off" sort of thing which fenton obliges to because really ? thats youre last request ? thats kind of sad. ok .

OF COURSE. we love lugnut. everybody love lugnut (this is a command it's not optional)

very bummed out when he eventually figures out that giz is not also a robot, and is in fact just a guy in a suit (doesn't stop him from still having his bizarre little supervillain crush on him. he's a worthy adversary you know how it is !!!!!)

that said he's not like. intimidated by giz perse (he Respects him. as a FriendFoe.) but you know who he is intimidated by ? a little boy and said little boy's father who is like 90 pounds soaking wet. listen he doesn't really "get" How and Why children and he found out the hard way why people use phrases like "mama/papa bear". just because he's a villain doesn't mean he can't get robot rsd

genuine friends with diamentia and honks of all people. they are confusing and diamentia is bossy but like in a very casual way that tends to put him at ease a little ? like. it's funny. it's kind of funny to him. like he's in on the joke with the two of them kind of. plus they do care about him ! you take friends where you can get in this Biz

pseudo-friends with botfly ? like he can sort of relate to their insistence that they operate on instinct and it's just in their nature to frighten people and then munch on their brains and like yes he supposes you have to do what you have to do. but they are annoying. that's worse honestly than the attacking people and eating their brain juices thinghas little tricks to cope with his terrible memory (not that he has a terrible memory he is so functional please believe him) but it kind of like. comes down to filing everybody he meets into blunt categories and most importantly register how much of a threat they are to him on a general basis. because everybody can at any point become a threat.

needs some therapy (once somebody can finally figure out someway to convince him that he is in fact a person)

originally interested in scooping fenton out of the gizmosuit to harves this organs or do fucked up experiments on him or something, fenton's meddled/destroyed his precious research often enough that now whenever he sees him he just straight goes into murder mode. like no monologuing no typical supervillain back and forth or anything, he just wants to literally kill him dead. plus he thinks the fact that he needs to use a robot suit to accomplish anything is super cringe but thats second to again, the intense murderous rage that overtakes him every time fenton's within seeing distance

kind of has a crush on giz, but in a very much like, "lesbian but doesn't realize that about herself yet, latching up to the most unattainable man in the vicinity so she never has to think about it for more than 2 seconds" way. like "i wanna rip this guy limb from limb thats gotta be close enough to what being in love is like right. Done". outside of that she thinks hes a total narc and a chump and its super pathetic and NOT secretly kind of sweet the way he thinks he can help everyone including her at all its actually so stupid. and cringe. shes also tbh on drake levels of not understanding that fenton is gizmoduck

thinks giz is pretty cool actually and a nice enough guy. like all the fighting and smacking him in the head with a crowbar isn't anything personal like it's just business. he does his superhero thing and she does the grunt thing and thats just how it goes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ whaddya gonna do. she does know fenton's secret identity she just likes to keep him guessing n sweating as to whether or not she actually figured him out bc she thinks its funny

lugnut

as previously mentioned, lugnut also has a little crush on giz (not that hes any good at like, registering and identifying his own emotions most of the time). he views him as a worthy adversary and respects/admires giz's adherence and dedication to what he sees as gizmoduck's own "prime directive" which is protecting duckburg and its populace. on the flip side he cant really understand why gizmoduck wants to stand in the way of lugnut uncovering his own lost directives thus restoring him to full functional order so he feels kind of betrayed on that level (plus again his memory is kind of wonky, so sometimes the last memory he has of giz is him trying to help him and sometimes its of the two of them duking out). probably the most likely and easiest in a "hero-villain team up of necessity" situation !

also memory problems and some serious face blindness kind of makes it hard for him to figure out and then "get" the whole secret identity thing but basically every time he sees fenton out of the suit its like this

well long as you prommy youre asking this in a normal way where youre not emotionally compromised i dont see why not

so boyd confuses lugnut a great deal. not that hes met any other robots or even knew there were others besides himself out there really before encountering boyd and ig giz but he doesnt get boyd at all. like why would somebody go and build a little boy when little children already exist ??? it just doesnt seem logical to him. he is hopeless lost with the whole thing and honestly it seems very strange and unsual to him

gyro ""going along with it"" and treating boyd like his son also weirdly fills lugnut with a confusing sense of dread (that he doesnt actually feel because he is an emotionless machine💖 hope this helps), partially because lugnut is wary of Scientist Types (he still thinks giz is also a robot here) to begin with, and gyro has especially earned his suspicion bc i mean. fenton having to deal with a clearly sentient robot with some kind of programming issue giving him trouble ?? probably didnt take much for gyro to get involved and considering lugnut is still out there, doing villain things, it did NOT go well

so in his mind he figures boyd must be broken or something bc its the only way he can conceptualize all this ( <- problems problems problems p) and also this is going under the cut bc it got Long

anyhoo everyone is just IGNORING this and keeping boyd from whatever his original function is supposed to be !!!! the worst thing he can imagine also he is not projecting again hes an emotionless machine we've been over this this is clearly all from an objective understanding of things. and its not his business to speculate on these things or interfere but seeing as he is also an automaton theres probably some kind of obligation on his end to fix this himself. obviously. no sense getting around it

so his plan is to reset boyd + wipe his memory and hopefully that should get him back to his "default" and make everything right, and that should also be easy enough to do because hes a robot he understands how being a robot works except one not really he does not and two lugnut and boyd operate on two VERY different systems bc lugnut's is all archaic. and insane. so it fails (which is yknow overall good for boyd he didnt get mindwiped basically) but it does make boyd all wonky bc its a failed reset obviously and lugnut's immediately full of regret like ohhhhhhh this unit has fucked up. diagnosis of situation: Bad. bad bad bad bad bad . so he tries to plop boyd back down on gyro's doorstep and also try to say sorry for you know breaking his kid hes like 90% sure none of his directives involve doing that (also the fact that boyd behaving all wacked out is reminding him a little too much of his own condition OOPS that does not feel good .)

understandably as you can imagine gyro freaks the hell out like one thats his son also boyd's had enough messing with his programming to last for Forever also thats his SON !! so lugnut escapes his lethal combination nerd + parent rage and gyro does get boyd fixed up eventually but still a scary scenario for boyd to go through ! my g0d ! probably especially bc like since this is boyd we're talking about here i imagine he'd have a lot of sympathy for lugnut and relate to him a lot and also kind of want to help him ? like hey you can choose not to be a killer robot. i promise there are options.. and then you know it doesnt pan out well :v[ to say in the least

anyways the whole thing has lugnut doubling down even harder on his self destructive and like 9/10 times Regular Destructive quest to find his original directives and super give up on having any hope that he can learn how to be a person bc he just made a choice all on his own with his own extrapolated logic no orders no nothing and it went. so bad. clearly he should just never make a decision ever again bc he can only make Bad Ones. he should let other people make his decisions for him forever and ever so he never has to undergo anything like that ever again. this is normal. he is definitely not spiraling (sarcastic) (but things get worse before they get better so its okay)

honks + clarice

honks wanted to get into cosmology/astrophysics but ended up burning out super hard and fast, then kind of shifted to doing gigs around st canard as a bass guitarist (and then eventually also crime). clarice was in the cosmetology business but it wasnt going where she wanted fast enough. they met in prison and decided to move in together when they got out and the rest has kind of been history. and they also both take care of a pet snake named udon ! :vD

also if i think shelby rabara would make a great voice claim for clarice its for normal reasons <3

botfly

was a psych major (crowd boos) before going (yknow. fully) down the path of Eeevil... they have an ex out there who is convinced this is some sort of weird possession thing and is determined to stop at nothing to get them un-possessed. they dont really have a lot of hobbies outside of eating people's brain juices, but they do like gardening ! and listening to whatever the duckverse equivalent of ABBA is. their voice has a kind of cool two-tone kind of thing goin on when they talk !

anthrax

bit of a technophobe, which is a really fun irony with the consideration that hes a gizmoduck villain specifically. hes like 60 and definitely uses those orthopedic inserts for his shoes (im allowed to make fun of him for this bc i also use them). he controls his mutants with this weird chemical pheromone. thing. he whipped up, so usually the further away from him they are the more they tend to act normal (or yknow, scared/lost/confused). i know keith david already is in ducktales canonically as manny but........ its just who he sounds like in my head. i cant help that mr david has such a distinct voice ok

lugnut

breathing fire. a three-point-articulated crocodile death roll. crushing bite force of over 16,400 newtons at least. this guy can do it all, so its a good thing that unlike the rest of the rogues he prefers to face off what he considers an actual worthy opponent, and really hates to target people who are pretty much defenseless. despite his slow-going acceptance that he is in fact a fully sentient and sapient being, and not just a big hunk of metal that goes places and does whatever, he has picked up exactly 1 (one) hobby, and likes to paint and draw ! he also has rats, by the names of bolt, socket, axle, and wrench ! also speaking of notable voices, i will admit that michael dorn's performance of coldstone (from gargoyles) did kind of influence a lot of my choices for him, and also to a lesser but still not negligible amount, his performance of course of worf, from star trek tng + ds9

of course !

dr botfly is actually super funny bc they never fully finished their degree and became a licensed, practicing psychologist, because they became merged with the parasite first. however due to the overhanging debt of student loans taken out you can be damn well sure that even as much as they claim to be a "new being" they remember all of their psychological training

while they do feed off of neurotransmitters this mostly feeds their powers + ability to influence ppl's perception of things, their actual body still needs like, regular food and sleep to function, both of which they tend to neglect ! half of it is earnestly just forgetting, the other half is because their tastebuds kind of got switched around and now food doesnt taste as good as it used to. turns out having your brain chemistry completely switched up will do that !

now while their powers work on disorienting people and kind of trapping them in visions of their own worst fears, either as just hallucinations or a weird kind of a dream state, botfly isnt really psychic or anything ! technically they have some extra sensory perception in like, being able to "sniff out" feelings of fear and confusion (also just really good at sniffing things out in general), but once a person enters the kind of dream state they have no control over what happens ! its completely up to that person's subconscious brain, and how adept they are at confronting their own fears and processing them controls how long it lasts and how effective it is. however as a psychologist and just, being really fucking good at doing cold readings, they do try to influence ppl to freak them out and make their emotional state worse by taking taunts or jabs or just overall acting like an unnerving little freak. this is their favorite part of "feeding". much of the satisfaction they get comes out of a sort of thrill of the hunt sort of thing, so baring that they dont need to eat like right now this very second, they do the absolute most in making their victims squirm. its just good fun to them !

lastly they do use a kind of "civilian" identity, to occasionally keep a low profile (yknow, stealth hunting and all that), but it doesnt come into use very often because a) they just love being themselves so much ! theyre the perfect complete being in their own eyes, and trying to act like anyone else is not only difficult, but boring, and because of point a point b is: it. doesnt typically work. like just about anyone can clock that something is just not right about them.
