Mos Espa marketplace
Among the food shops found on the marketplace were Gragra's gorgmonger booth, Akim's Munch outdoor café and Jira's fruits stall. In the year 32 BBY, the Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn walked across the Mos Espa market, along with the Queen Padmé Amidala (in disguise) and a Gungan named Jar Jar Binks.
Elderly Jira
A poor yet jolly woman, the elderly Jira ran a small food stand in the Mos Espa marketplace. Among her wares were tasty fruits called pallies. Young Anakin Skywalker befriended Jira, and searched for a cooling unit that the old woman needed.

Starwars: Graga
A gorgmonger of the mos espa who sold gorgs (mos espa being the place where Anakin was born, not mos eisly, a wretched hive of scum and villainy.) the vendors of mos espa typically had cooling units to draw customers in. Gragas gorgs were fishlike creatures that were served in various fashions, both as an adult and as an egg. the eggs were used much like chicken eggs are used but the adults were served whole and were eaten by multiple species. Oh and also live. jabba the hutt is seen eating one at the beginning of the bunta eve classic in the episode 1 which is the 4th film as the beginning of the storyline. They look peculiar, but they would do being from another planet. They remind me of the gizka seen in the game Knights of the old republic

Mos Espa - Tatooine
Mos espa is a place in Tatooine where food is sold/traded and is a big area where things can be found such as the people who farmed and then sold gorgs known as gorgmongers - Star Wars franchise. I have only seen one Star Wars, I liked it but I would prefer Avatar. I really like the connection ton between the world and the people where as Star Wars is just violence in space with good and bad fighting on different planets. https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Mos_Espa_marketplace

RESEARCH TWO
MINA LIMA:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They are packages or advertisement for sweets.
The triangle one, I really love the colours of orange and red and the purple bluish font, which I feel that it really makes the letters pop, pluss red is a colour that is used to entice kids to buy the product as there are some tests that say, that the colour red makes you hungry. The colours of these package designs are really cool, really fit the theme of strange, weird out there. The logos are really inviting and magical; the butterfly is creepy and a weird and strange concept, like "sugar wings" (yum) This would also help me out with my logos as well and to come up with a name for it, when designing it like think about very funky child-like fonts, colours to entice them to buy it, or if I want to make it all gritty or adult themed or just a family meal themed, with more of bland but kinda interesting fonts etc.

STREET FOOD:
COUNTRIES FOODS I LOOKED AT: Czech Republic, Philippines, South Africa, Taipei Taiwan and Turkey
FOOD NAMES: Chimney Cake, Halo-Halo, Biltong, Stinky Tofu, Simit
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What differs from each country is actually quite fascinating, they are strange unique and uses very weird crazy ingredients / animals or design to make these known delicacies, also depending on the country, there is a huge use of their own tradition and creativity to make these foods.
Like for example the Chimney cake is just sweet bread but designed in a weird chimney shape, which makes you look at it like "weird" but then again, I believe that is the entire aesthetic just to bring you into the world of the strange, vast options of what you can choose from these street food stands.
Like for example the Halo-halo, this one looks like ya normal desert, full of ice cream, milk fruit and then you realise (beans) are in this treat as well, "surgar beans". which just proves of how unique and strange all these foods and deserts can be.
It also helps me come up with ideas on how to make my vendor, even maybe research vendors and ways they present their food etc.

This vendor (Gorgmonger) sells food called gorgs. I think that the scary wide alien mouth makes the vendor way better and it gives a feel for an alien desert street food market. I think that the clutter of tools and food give the vendor character like he is disgusting and a mess. It also makes you want to eat the food less as you know where it came from.

When told to design a galactic marketplace my immediate thoughts were of Star Wars. Most obviously from The phantom Menace, Mos Espa on Tatooine. But also some of the planets visited by the Mandalorian such as Nevarro. I think a really good example of an alien market would be DisneyWorld’s Galaxy’s Edge.
Tumblr media
Gragra, a Swokes Swokesgorgmonger on Tatooine. Gorgmonger was the term applied to any sentient being who farmed and sold gorgs, such as Gragra on the desert planet of Tatooine.
Mos Espa is another fictional location based in Tatooine that harbours the street cafe “Akim’s Munch” that supposedly served “undercooked stringy foods”.
