Hi Steph. I hope you're doing lovely. I've been having a few low days and went to watch my usual comfort show and get a little bit of Johnlock, but for some reason it just made me sadder. I know that there's really no chance of s5 anymore, and have for some time, but always had that spark of hope anyway. I think it's dead now. Neither BC or MF seem the littlest bit interested in finishing it, and actually seem against it at this point. They sure won't talk about it in interviews. And they seem like they are actively avoiding each other and any mention of the show. Which is weird since it's really what put them in the spotlight, they should still be able to discuss it. It's just depressing to think that such a wonderful show and actors who appeared to be friends had to end this way, leaving a bad taste behind for Sherlock. I guess I'm rambling, but just wanted to get it out to someone who would understand. I miss being a fan of something so amazing. And sad that it's really completely over. 😭😭😭

Yeah, I'm actually in the same camp. Of course I HOPE for more, since they never TECHNICALLY cancelled it, but not if no one wants to do it and not if Mofftiss want us to believe that S4 was real and write S5 like nothing happened. I mean I still love speculating myself.

But you don't have to stop "being a fan"! We have SO much love and content here, from essays, to stories, to art... it's so wonderful, and we've really made the series ours. And honestly, so many of our writers have written better S5's or S4 rewrites than we probably would have gotten, and I think that's worth celebrating. This fandom will be here for a long time – I know lots of "old" fandoms are still around, and the Holmes fandom has been around for more than a century, it's gonna take more than a poorly written season of S4 to get rid of us. We have Ritchie Holmes 3 to look forward to, if you need a happy thing to have <3

I'm sorry you're having a rough go, Nonny. There's still so much to love about being here, and there's still lots of fun to be had to still speculate and heck if you want to remain helpful, that's okay too! I think as long as we stay realistic while still remaining hopeful is a good place to be. I hope you're alright <3
