anyways here’s a list of all the (current) hcau links’ gender, pronouns, sexuality, and any partners they may have/have had. i’ve been queering these bitches since the very beginning
Hero - he/him, he’s too busy with.. well everything to think about his gender or sexuality, has a very complicated relationship with Hylia
Loft - he/they, in the midst of exploring their gender but for now is settled on trans man, bisexual, in a very committed relationship with his Zelda (and is planning to propose soon!!)
Minish - they/them, agender, demi + ace, just started dating their Zelda
Prism - he/him, cis man, bisexual, engaged to his Zelda
Mask - they/he, their gender is complicated but they don’t want to explain so they just say trans man, bisexual, not quite dating Malon yet but very very close (also has a minor crush on Sheik)
Oracle - he/him, trans man, pansexual, he is very far back in the closet so he’s not dating anyone but he was admittedly kind of into Ralph, and under different circumstances he could’ve loved Zelda, too (see this short wip) (also he’s so not over Marin)
Lorule - she/he/they, genderfluid, pan + ace, has the fattest fucking crush on Ravio
Rhythm - he/him, questioning gender, queer, hasn’t figured out if their feelings for his Zelda are platonic or not
Traveler - he/they/it, non-binary, aroace, he and one of its Zeldas jokingly flirt all the time bc they think it’s hilarious but they’re actually just super good friends
Wolf - he/him, cis man, bisexual, not in a relationship because he’s probably never going to get over Midna
Red - he/they, genderqueer, queer, still crushing on Erune
Green - he/him, cis man, bisexual, single
Blue - she/her, trans woman, lesbian, head over heals for her Zelda but refuses to admit it (everyone knows)
Vio - they/she, transfem non-binary, bi + demi + ace, has a…. complicated relationship with Shadow
Wind - he/him, trans man, bisexual, dating Tetra and is so proud of it
Spirit - she/her, trans girl, lesbian, has the biggest crush on her Zelda
Ages - he/him, cis man, pansexual, single but used to have a crush on Ravio during the war
Champion - he/they, was too busy studying the blade to consider their gender or sexuality or any romantic feelings (painfully oblivious to the fact that they have feelings for both Mipha and Zelda)
Wild - any/all pronouns, genderqueer, pansexual, dating her Zelda
here are also some side characters that are queer to some degree!!
Malon - she/her, trans woman, pansexual, very very close to dating Mask (and thinks Sheik is cute, too)
Mask’s Sheik (child timeline) - he/him, trans man, bisexual, not dating anyone but has a fat fucking crush on Mask and Malon
Pipit - he/him, trans man, straight, engaged to Karane
Marin - she/her, trans woman, pansexual, was dating Oracle
Champion’s Zelda - she/her, cis woman, bisexual, has a huge crush on both Champion and Mipha
Ravio - he/him, cis man, queer, has the fattest fucking crush on Lorule
of course there are other characters who aren’t mentioned here that have gotten hit by the queerification beam, but these are all i’ve decided on/can think of at the moment!!

have some fun facts abt my Links while i finish chapter one of hcau:
Prism and Wind are dyslexic :)
whenever Wild doesn’t want to go through the effort of explaining something, they’ll just say it came to them via divine intervention. Loft believes it every time.
Lorule has never lost a game of dominos. they have no strategy, they bet on blind luck and blind luck only and it always works. Ravio took it upon himself to set up little dominos tournaments at festivals or other town events.
Wind is banned from said domino tournaments due to his excessive cursing.
Wolf constantly tries to teach Spirit how to wrestle. Spirit refuses to learn (it scares her)
Mask can fuck it up on the fiddle
everyone thought Ages was gonna use his “Queen’s Bestie” privileges to meddle with politics even more than his job allows but nope! he just uses it to get access to the royal library. fucking nerd.
Wild and Loft both love bell peppers
Wind is besties with both Mask and Oracle. Oracle fucking despises Mask. Wind is desperately trying to convince Oracle that Mask is actually Rlly Fuckin Cool (tm). success levels vary.
Traveler doesn’t own a bedroll. he sleeps in the dirt. if they’re at an inn it’ll sleep outside anyways. they love it.
Wind is very superstitious
Oracle just straight up fistfights monsters sometimes
Wild’s a mouth-breather
Loft stole one of Kolokto’s swords. don’t ask me how he just did.
Oracle has one of his wanted posters nailed above his bed. he thinks it’s funny. no one else shares this opinion.
during hyrule warriors Mask got a wizzro in a corner and just beat the everliving fuck out of it
Wolf is an adult man horse girl
Red, Green, Blue, and Vio all have the thickest scottish accent

I don't know yuore oc names uuuhh. does mario kart exist in your world. if it did who wld yr characters main
AHAJDKKA THANK YOU FOR ASKING <3
so the OCs i mainly refer to on this blog are my hero’s call au characters so, tragically, mario kart would not exist in their world :( BUT this is such a funny question that i’m answering it anyway. modern au time bitch. answers below the cut bc damn that’s a lot of guys
going with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe here because that was what first came up when i googled Mario Kart :)
Hero: Luigi. god bless this man he does not know anything about the Mario franchise outside of the first few Mario games. he chose Luigi over Mario because he likes green more than red. (plus he asked Spirit if that was a good choice and she said he was fine so)
Loft: Yoshi. he likes the look of him and he always felt really bad for dropping him into the abyss when playing Mario as a kid so this is a sort of apology
Minish: Toad. they can do a perfect impression of Toad and is not afraid to use it to terrify people.
Prism: either Dry Bowser or Princess Daisy. listen okay this guy is an elite gamer and also a huge fucking nerd, so obviously he’s crunched the numbers; he also really likes Game Theory and watched that one video where MatPat claimed that Dry Bowser (and a specific kart build that i don’t remember) was the fastest. bUt he’s also kind and hates absolutely obliterating his friends every single time, so he tones it down and chooses Princess Daisy (her specifically because his fiancée, Zelda, loves Daisy. if it weren’t for her he’d be Villager Male.)
Mask: Shy Guy. little guy with mask 🤝 little guy with mask.
Oracle: Bowser. this bitch is here to win, but, unlike Prism, he doesn’t have the time to crunch the numbers. so he just.. googled what the best build is and goes with that
Lorule: Birdo. trans rep.
Traveler: Waluigi. he’s obnoxious as hell what else do you expect of it.
Wolf: it’s between Cat Peach and Donkey Kong. HE’S A FURRY he loves both cats and monkeys, but he chooses Cat Peach a little bit more often because he’s also a #feminist
Red: Isabelle. Red is an Animal Crossing player at his core. plus he also loves dogs very much
Green: Dry Bowser. this man is a strategist at heart, he’s gonna do his research and perform as best as he can. though he’s a little embarrassed about how much effort he’s put in to Mario Kart
Blue: Bowser. it’s the exact same story as Oracle: she’s here to fucking win. bUt she isn’t an absolute loser and so just quickly googles who the best is and goes with it. tragically, she’s horrible at video games and loses almost every single time.
Vio: King Boo. she is a huge fuckin nerd, but just not in the video game way. she has no damn clue who to choose, and ends up picking King Boo because ghosts are fun, and definitely not because Shadow mained King Boo. definitely not that at all—
Wind: Inkling Girl. this guy is pretty good at all games, with the single exception of racing games. so, when it comes to Mario Kart, he relies on the wisdom of his little sister, Aryll, who consistently mops the floor with him whenever they play. she mains Inkling Girl, and he hopes and prays that that’ll let him at least not come in at dead last.
Spirit: Dry Bowser and Princess Peach. yet another person who’s a complete and utter nerd. i’ve mentioned this before, but Spirit loves optimization. she’s an engineer, she’s gonna figure out the best combinations and she’s gonna figure them out fast. but, just like Prism, she’s actually nice and doesn’t want to straight up obliterate everyone she plays with, so Princess Peach. (ngl i was tempted to say Birdo again because trans rep but Spirit is such a Princess Peach girlie.)
Ages: Mario. while Ages is also a huge strategy guy, he’s not really a fan of competitive games. give him a pokémon game and he’ll do fantastic, but a racing game?? ehh…. truth be told, he mostly plays story driven games, so he’s very lost in a competitive setting. same story as Hero, really, lmao. they both go for the ole reliables.
Wild: Toad. she saw a little dude with a fat ass mushroom hat and immediately decided to main him. oh and he can also do a perfect impression of Toad. do not leave them and Minish in the same room together or else they will both lose their voices from talking like Toad for hours.
Champion: Wendy O. Koopa. this man(?) is an enigma, no one knows why. he probably doesn’t either.
Rhythm: Waluigi. he’s a middle school band kid for fuck’s sake, of course he’s gonna choose fucking Waluigi.
sorry for any and all typos and tense changes, and thank you again for this question Strawb <3 it’s very fun i had a blast answering it, even if i had to google a lot since i rarely ever play Mario Kart lmao

i need to post more hcau wips so here a wip of spirit fucking dying, vio having horrible bedside manner, hero trying his best, and traveler of all people being the smart one lmao
content warning: lots of injury descriptions, almost major character death, vulgar language, small descriptions of how terrible potions taste, and also they’re in a sewer
There’s blood seeping out of Spirit’s leg, and it’s the first time in a while that Vio doesn’t know what to do. Obviously, the wound needs to cleaned, sewn shut, and dressed, but the cut is so long and ragged and deep that she might be dead by the time a quarter of the stitches are in. And even if she does somehow make it past the blood loss, the likelihood of her dying of an infection from getting stitches in the middle of a sewer system is too high to even think about.
“Holy fuck, holy fuck,” Traveler says in a panic, sprinting past Vio to Spirit’s side. He helps her to the grimy ground, even rips off his cloak to set under her leg as a sort of towel. After an embarrassing amount of time, Vio finally moves to help prop her against the wall, and Traveler starts to clean the wound.
This is normally where they’d force feed her a potion. On any standard day they’d be desperately shoving it to her lips and tilt her head back. The tension would fall from their shoulders as her bleeding would slowly become more manageable, and death would no longer loom over her. They’d have to restrain her, of course; the kid’s always been particularly sensitive to the potion’s rancid meat flavoring. Vio holds the memory of Ages holding her arms and head back as Blue pries open her jaw to pour the liquid down her throat quite fondly, despite the fact that Spirit was actively dying then, as well.
But they can’t do that. They don’t have the luxury of pulling her out of death’s grasp, not when their last red potion is on the floor, mixing with glass shards and sewage a few yards away. It was shattered by one of the Yiga clan members that had attacked them just moments prior, in the exact same battle that cleaved the poor girl’s thigh open.
Vio wants to scoop the potion’s remnants up in her hands and force it onto Spirit’s tongue; she wants to drag their fingers through the groves in the stone where the liquid gathers, then drag those same fingers into her throat. She’d drag the girl over to the puddle by her fucking hair and force her to drink from it if it meant that she’d survive.
But it wouldn’t. It’s common knowledge that magic is a fickle thing, so fickle in fact that once a red potion is contaminated, it’s loses all potency—and what’s more contaminated than a potion full of glass, dirt, and sewage?
Traveler looks to Vio. They’re visibly exhausted from overextending their magic as they work through this dungeon, and the grim look on his face says that he’s intimately familiar with these kinds of situations and how they often end. The tears that flood Spirit’s terrified eyes tell Vio that she is as well.
Well, at least she’s small. They might be able to give her family a body.
Traveler still cleans the wound. He moves quickly, which means being much harsher than normal. Why he’s acting like she still has a chance Vio doesn’t know, but Spirit handles it shockingly well. She only clenches and unclenches her fists with every fresh wave of pain and… looks up and starts to nod?
“What’re you doing, kid?” Vio asks as gently as possible, taking one hand in their own to offer some kind of emotional support.
Spirit swallows harshly, and when she speaks her voice is ragged and breathy. “Hero… the—“ she winces, “—the ghost.”
Right. Hero, the dead Link that only Spirit can see, and who can sometimes vaguely speak to the rest of them. He would be there too, wouldn’t be?
“What about Hero?” Vio prods.
“He’s—“ she pants, and her grip on Vio’s hands tightens to the point that it feels close to shattering. Vio often forgets how strong the girl is. “He’s.. gonna get some of the others.”
As much as she wants to feel a wash of relief at her words, they only make Vio feel worse. The group split into several smaller groups in order to finish the dungeon quicker—a choice which likely won’t happen again after today. It’s been just over an hour since everyone parted. The chances of a ghost being able to find and effectively lead someone with a health potion to them quickly enough are…
Vio swallows. Her tongue feels thick. “I don’t think you have enough time for that.”
“Oh,” the engineer says. Her bottom lip quivers as she musters up a pathetic smile. “Okay.”
Another tear slips down Spirit’s round face, and Vio realizes at the worst possible time why Blue is so fond of her.
Then, Traveler’s face lights up as their eyes lock onto Vio. “You still have a little bit of a that stamina potion, don’t you?”
“Huh?”
“Stamina— the green one! I know you do, you always leave a little bit of potions left for situations like this! C’mon, gimme!” He leans across Spirit’s legs and grasps at Vio’s bag.
She grabs his wrist before they can reach anything. “A stamina elixir won’t help her, it’ll only make her feel more awake as she dies!” A pang of pity hits Vio’s stomach when she sees Spirit flinch at it so plainly put.
Traveler shakes his head. “No- for me! I can heal her enough for stitches if my magic isn’t fully depleted.”
Within an instant the elixir is in his hands, and soon after the remaining green liquid disappears down his throat. He gags momentarily—that one has the taste of pure salt and the texture of spoiled milk—before clasping the sliced flesh shut between his hands. Spirit’s scream is loud and mangled and the only thing Vio can do is pull her close, muffling the wretched cries that tear through her little body into their chest.
