Reactions of the ROs with an MC who looks extremely intimidating and scary but actually is a puppy and that intimidating persona dissappears when RO is in MCs presence?

This can be literally canon if your MC has that sort of personality LMAO! Especially with Hero!!! But thank you for the ask nevertheless, and I'll answer to the best of my ability.

Pachypoda would absolutely melt but also be completely flustered by the change. I mean, a scary MC has Pachypoda wide eyed already, if not, a bit "damsel-in-distress" too. But to see the switch-up, right in front of their eyes. It would make Pachypoda splutter out in confusion, but especially pride? Like they want to show off. They want to show everyone what they do to you. Pachypoda does have that little boastful side to them too, especially when it comes to MC.

Astro/a is a teaser at best. They're the jester of the group, the one to egg MC on when they're all angry and stuff. I can imagine Astro/a trying to make MC tempered, only because it is slightly entertaining (if it caused no harm), but when MC doesn't rise up to the challenge, or rather, goes completely soft-smiled... Astro/a would laugh and pounce on them. I feel like they'd definitely enjoy taking a more assertive role to an MC who is usually that, except with them.

Secret LI1 can relate. They're kind of like that too. I feel like they're definitely the ones that wouldn't comment on it, most likely enjoy it like a private joke. Soft smiles, vague comments, etc. (Can you imagine THIS power couple?!)

Secret LI2 would find it amusing, but wouldn't directly comment on it either because they don't want to embarrass MC in any way. Maybe they might coddle MC a little bit because of it, but I can definitely see them become sort of blind to the "scary" version of MC because when they look at them, all they see is the "puppy" MC that they are in private. Endless heart eyes.

BONUS:

Frey is very easy to read. Everyone knows that Frey loves a scary MC, it's something to be explored for sure. 👀 But I can imagine a situation where MC goes from scary to maybe flustered, or just overall soft, upon interacting with Frey. I know for a fact that Frey would laugh really hard at it. Mainly cause it's cute but also, the stark difference is just so comical! I think Frey would dote on MC a lot because of this.

Reread your demo (and still heartbroken over Frey). In the demo, if you have your MC give birth, it's mentioned that their chronic illness makes it a bit difficult. I was wondering how the ROs would react if MC is pregnant with their child (if they want kids) and has similar difficulties? And how would the Hero feel about being a big sibling? Just looking for some cute family comfort because seeing Frey worry over MC made me melt. <3

I do love it when Frey takes care of MC, especially when you consider that MC has always taken care of themselves, and those of you who have a more stubborn MC - you definitely need it.

Regarding kids, I don't know if Pachypoda would want more or not. I feel like they're very neutral about that, it really just depends on what MC wants. Nights themselves can't have kids naturally, so it's not something Pachypoda thinks about often.

They'd definitely be overbearing with a pregnant MC. Always asking if they're okay, what do they need, how are they feeling... never ending barrage of questions because Pachypoda wants to make this as easy for you as possible. It may come across as annoying, especially while MC is going through what they're going through, but if you speak your mind, Pachypoda will understand and will come up with less direct solutions, that don't require bothering you. They're smart after all.

Astro/a would definitely want kids. They may not seem like it, but they like children, and like taking care of them. Children also often like them, so I guess it's a win-win situation.

I'm sorry to inform you that does not mean that Astro/a is good at dealing with pregnancy. They can be a bit obnoxious about it, and can hurt you if you're not careful enough. Not physically per say, but definitely emotionally. They are not ones to spoil you if they're excited about something, they're most likely to lose themselves in their excitement and ignore you. But this is where communication is important, if you say that you need them to help you, they will drop everything to help. They care about you, love you and the child you carry, that will never come in doubt.

Secret LI1 does not want kids. But it's not a determined thing. They can be convinced to want kids. After all, the reason they don't want kids is because of who they are at the moment, but with growth, they might have a different opinion on the subject.

I think of all the ROs so far, Secret LI1 would be the best at taking care of a pregnant MC. Mainly because they know exactly what the MC needs and when - call it a superpower if you would. They can read MC well, know them well, and they are extremely careful and responsible. There's nothing to worry about if Secret LI1 has anything to do with it.

100% Secret LI2 wants kids, more than one if possible. They love family and having a family, and they want to have kids of their own.

They'd be a mix of knowing how to deal with a pregnant MC and not. Most of the time, they have no idea what to do, but they're a quick learner. They'd educate themselves on what to do, how to best help you and make this a bit less painful for you. I think they'd do a good job, but not enough, at least until they get the confidence they need. But they're a great listener and will do whatever the MC needs, no matter how outlandish.

I think I've briefly touched upon Hero wanting or not wanting another sibling here. But in summary, they'd be super excited about having a sibling. They can be rather sheltered, so having someone else like them, will make them less lonely.

When Hero is scratched or slightly injured, MC would do the “Pain, pain, go away” for them and dearly kiss them on the forehead, which slowly ends up as a habit. So when the ros gets injured, MC chants the magic word again, following with the kiss on the forehead, only to blush after realizing what they have done. What would be the ros reaction then?

HAHA SO CUTE! 🥺 I can see Hero actually believing in something like that for very long. And the MC getting embarrassed over something so silly is absolutely everything I've ever wanted. So here you go!

Pachypoda would not be able to process anything. They'd be frozen to the spot, turning a deep purplish scarlet, up to their pointy ears. Not only was that adorable, but the contact!! The contact with your lips on their forehead!! It's tickling, it's sparkling, Pachypoda still feels it. For the rest of the day, in their dreams, and all the other days after that.

Astro/a would gape for awhile, absolutely baffled that you just did that, before falling on the floor cackling. Suddenly, whatever injury they suffered doesn't matter anymore, the fact that you did that on instinct is all they can think about. They will never let you forget it. They will mention it every second, and tease you for it. They think it's cute though, so it comes from a place of affection. They might even do the same thing to you just for the banter.

Similar to Pachypoda, Secret LI1 would be too shocked to be able to understand why and how you did that. They'd recover faster, and not mention it for your sake. But secretly, they close their eyes trying to control their swooning.

Secret LI2 wouldn't even question it. They would thank you gratefully, and truly think curiously how that worked! They actually no longer feel the pain, perhaps it's magic? They ask you about it later, more impressed with you regardless of your answer.

Pachypoda would be AMAZING AT THE GAME! Like, they would learn so quickly and be an ace at it. The only thing I can see them struggling with is fighting monsters, mainly cause they find that whole situation stressful. Regarding acting with the MC and Hero, I think Pachypoda would share time with them equally. Venturing into the mines with Hero, using their good vision to spot diamonds, and quick thinking to not die in lava. While with MC, they would spare some minutes (or hours) to help build a house with MC, leading the built or following whatever MC wishes if that's what is required of them.

Astro/a is a fighter at heart, a non-listener sometimes, a rebel. They'd be slaying monsters day in and day out, if they don't spawn, they'd go looking for them. They're the type to have minimal stuff in their inventory because they want to explore and find temples and villages and whatnot. They'd definitely be down to go to a mine with Hero, mainly to protect them, slay some monsters, let Hero collect the stuff they want, etc etc. Meanwhile with the MC, I think they'd like watching (😏). Mainly to just talk as MC works, Astro/a stands there with a sword, running and jumping around MC as they talk and they compliment MC on how nice things look.

I can already see Secret LI1 not knowing how anything works. They'd be so lost, breaking dirt with a pickaxe, making a dirt house of exactly one block of space, eating rotten flesh. They'd get frustrated too, because they're embarrassed they are doing so terrible. They might quit a few times before gaining the patience to be taught by Hero on how to do things, they'll still make lots of mistakes, but they're doing better. Meanwhile with the MC, they'd enjoy working with them, building nice houses with them because they're easy to do, and all they have to do is follow orders.

Secret LI2 is similar to Secret LI1, they would not know how to do anything either. But they're more willing to learn. They'd follow Hero to whatever adventures Hero wants to do, do whatever they want as well, take advice to heart and truly strive to improve. They're the type to die in game and be like "Oh well. 😊" With MC they'd actually try to show off a bit. Show MC of all the things they learnt with Hero, and just generally attempt to do a good job in whatever MC asks.

What would be Hero and the ROs reaction to an MC who was so heartbroken and in so much despair after Frey's death that they randomly lose their memory?

They forget that Frey has died and when they see Hero, their first thought would be why there is a kid that look so much like Frey and they cannot even remember when Hero calls them. Even when Hero looks at them confusingly, or bursts into tears, they can not recall any memory of them, sometimes MC would even ask if they are someone related to Frey and inquire them of Frey's whereabouts. Only after some specific time would they get their sense back and they would remember the time when they forget who Hero is. At that time they would cry and apologize, and promise that incident would never occur again, but again and again they just lose their memory, nothing changes.

What possessed you to ask me this.

Like, I REALLY want to know where tf do you get these ideas from? I'm shocked and flabbergasted, WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO HERO, TO THE ROS, TO THE MC????? I mean, I get it. The story itself is pretty angsty, but this??? Cruel. Plain evil.

I really hate the idea of MC forgetting Hero. That upsets me to such a quantum level, so I'm removing that from your ask if you don't mind. Memory loss due to trauma happens a lot, but I don't want it to happen between MC and Hero... 😢

Pachypoda would deal with it graciously. They would be able to find a solution to the problem. After all, there are many remedies and potions that can cure amnesia. But during the times where you are not healed yet, it does bring them a lot of pain to have to see you so delusionally believe the things that you do. They never correct you though, they'll wait for the time when they can help you, for now, you should be happy.

Astro/a is very much concerned. They get kind of awkward about it and don't know how to deal with it. They're not used to something like this. After all, they are a rather honest person, and not telling you about what's actually happening is very difficult for them. But they'll grow used to it with time, and give you whatever lie you need to be happy. That's the most important thing.

Secret LI1 at first, tells you every time you forget. Simply because they think you deserve to know. But the more times you keep forgetting, the more frustrated and guilty they feel. At some point, they stop telling you, they become distant and can't be around you because of how much resentment they feel towards themselves. It will be better for you to feel like you have your old life back, and they weren't there then, they won't be there now.

Secret LI2 would do their best to make you believe that truly everything is alright. They wouldn't mind letting you live like that, it's better to live ignorant than to know of all the pain that consumed your previous mind, only to consume this one too. They won't let you do that. But they will find some sort of way to regain your memories back permanently, it's better than being in this limbo.

Can we have Ros reaction to when MC hide inside a giant teddy bear to surprise them on their Bday? They light up the room to see a prepared smoll party with a giant teddy lying against the wall, and they MC will stand up to jumpscare them : )

Despite being full of anxiety and looking like a twig stick, Pachypoda is hard to scare. They might be a bit surprised, with a joyous smile upon recognition, or even know immediately that MC is there before the jumpscare, but they would never actually get startled by it. The party is very well appreciated, although it would be difficult to convince Pachypoda that it was for them, they will somehow find a way to exclude themselves from their own party, alienating themselves if they don't get the necessary attention.

On the other hand, Astro/a is a scaredy cat. They'd scream, maybe react violently or lose all bodily functions and throw themselves on the floor or onto someone. It's funny cause they look so tough, but they do have a weak little heart. They'd laugh about it after, and start scheming for revenge. In the meantime, they party hard, and spoil the MC a bunch for throwing such a nice party.

I know it's not the answer some of you would want but Secret LI1 would not enjoy this. Not the party and not the jumspcare. They detest surprises, so it would be better to plan this out with them, because then you'd know that they'd prefer their birthday to be a more private event, with just you two, and no teddy bears.

Of all people, Secret LI2 would love it the most. They'd scream and giddily laugh at the shock of it, and play along with any sort of ideas MC has planned. Then, they'd act like the gracious host they are, and be the soul of the party, making sure everyone is having a good time.

This is a very cute question!

Pachypoda: I think the reaction would be different from what you'd expect. I can see them flinch when you approach them with it, muttering an apology underneath their breath. I can see the flowers wilting when Pachypoda's eyes land on it. And then, Pachypoda shakes their head with a sad smile and suggests you bear the crown instead. The smile they give you after you have adorned it is probably better than the smile they would've had were they to wear it instead.

Astro(a): Joy and absolute glee would probably be their reaction. They would jump around like a school child and hug you until you run out of breath. Then they would wear it and pose for you, constantly saying "Am I your flower prince/princess now?" Each pose more ridiculous and dramatic than the previous one. You'd both be in a laughing fit by the end of it, promising to weave flower crowns together next time.

Secret LI1: Shock probably. Then slow but genuine confusion. You never expected them to wear it in the first place, and as far as you know, they don't, but you're even more surprise by the fact that they kept it. And you can imagine them bearing the crown in private, looking at themselves in a mirror before sighing and taking it off.

Secret LI2: Silent but soft appreciation. It started first with a smile and a grateful remark. Then, they wear it everywhere, to all the places they need to go, where people ask them about it and they simply respond with vague affection to the maker, you. Then, they wear it to dinner, to the bath and even to sleep. At some point, the petals of the flowers are all gone, but they still wear the thin green stems with pride.

Bonus: Frey beams at you that all familiar smile before winking knowingly and surprising you with one they made as well. You both laugh and rest each other's crowns on each other's heads, like a ceremony. Frey calls you "My flower" for the rest of the day.

MC would mostly depend on what type of MC you have but the one thing I will reinforce is that the farm would be ORDERLY. Each section of the farm carefully organised for each function - not to mention very pretty 😊

Hero's farm would be non-existent. Like, they'd spend most of their time mining, doing adventurer's guild objectives, and helping villagers (if your Hero is nicer). I can see them just running around the game, neglecting the farm and just doing the bare minimum to unlock the mine LMAO

Frey would be a mixture of taking care of the farm and befriending villagers. I can see them forgetting about the farm in general because they want to find gifts and unlock heart events for the villagers. If MC were playing the game with them, I can also see them giving lots of attention to the MC. If not, their favourite character would be Krobus.

Pachypoda would do very well in this game (pachypoda is actually so multi-talented, they learn things so quickly). Their farm would be flourishing, and I can imagine that they know the best way to be efficient with their products. They would especially like taking care of the animals, so I see a lot of time invested on that. I think they'd find the monsters and creatures hilariously gross. I can see them being a Penny-romancer too (ME TOO TO BE FAIR)

Astro/a would be TERRIBLE AT THIS GAME!! They'd grow bored of it too. They'd do their best, keeping up with the farm and fishing and mining, and other things, but I think they'd get annoyed very quickly because things are simply not working out. They're character would pass out so many times due to low health or past curfew, to a point they'd get frustrated. I also think they'd have a weird feud with Alex and maybe Haley too.

Secret LI1 would have to be forced to sit down and play this game. Most of the time they'd be still, not sure what to do, but after learning the mechanics, they get addicted to fishing. Just fishing. Nothing else. They'd be good at it though! Regarding villagers... they'd probably not care for anyone, but I can see them softening with Jas.

Secret LI2 would LOVE this game! They'd have a lot of hours in it too, farming, fishing, mining, and just general gameplay. They'd focus a lot on upgrading their farm and buying the best seeds for the right seasons (even buying them before the season!). They'd definitely get addicted to the game LOL I also think they'd grow quite fond of Robin and her entire family.

As an extension of the ask about forgotten affection that MC usually gives to Frey and the RO, what would be their reaction when the MC seemingly forgets one day (probably in rush?) but then comes running up to them and goes “Can’t forget this!” and hugs/kisses them?

Okay. I got that out of my system. It's nice to scream when you think something is TOO cute.

I'm sorry but if you were to do that with Frey, I don't think they would let you leave. You'd come rushing back for a kiss or a hug, and they would not let go, because they're so gosh darn happy that you remembered, that they'd end up not wanting you to go.

Pachypoda on the other hand, would be entirely too flustered. Because it's not that important, they have no idea why you made such a fuss, and why their heart is beating so fast, and why their cheeks are really warm, and why they can't focus, and why they can't stop thinking about it for the rest of the day. And probably every morning after that. I can already imagine the puppy eyes they would send you every morning, expecting to see if you will do it again.

The resident bard would be similar to Frey. But less so. I think Astro/a would most likely also cling to you and laugh about it, make some jokes. But once you're gone, they'd jump around, talking to themselves about how in love they are with you. And then pretend like nothing happened, they'd just laugh quietly to themselves when they remember.

Secret LI1 would act distant at first, because truly, it's not important, you have better things to do. But you see them hiding a little smile, them grabbing you and only letting go after getting reminded that you must part. It's short, but it was very significant to them.

Secret LI2 would find it quite adorable. It's not super important to them, but the fact that you deem that it is, makes them feel happy. They will put more effort in the future to remind you if that is something you wish. But all in all, they just think you are cute.

Do the ROs have any sensitive parts that can be considered their weakness? What would be their reaction if MC purposefully kiss them on the part to tease them?

Hmm... Good question! Thank you for the ask, and here you go below the cut.

Pachypoda's weak spot most likely is their ears. There's no particular reason, but it's also the part that is weakest to temperatures, despite Night's resistance to it. That is why they wear the hood most of the time! If MC were to purposely kiss there, I quite think Pachypoda would shiver. They're very embarrassed about their reaction, but they wouldn't stop you were you to do it again.

Astro/a would tell you they don't have a weak spot, but they're wrong. It's their shoulder blades. They're just hyper-aware of any sensations there, probably because it's behind them. If MC kissed there to tease them, they would probably hold their breath, unsure why they're reacting so strongly. They might laugh nervously after, but they are very much affected.

Secret LI1's weak spot is quite simple. It's their face. MC kissing them anywhere there aside from their lips, might literally freeze them to the spot before they exhale strongly, finding it pleasant.

Secret LI2's weak spot is their fingers, their hands, their wrist. There's something about it. A kiss there quite literally would make them fall in love, so be careful how you utilise it.

In love with this ask! I just love any ask where it's the squad just doing very normal modern stuff, like playing FNAF (apparently) 🤭

Anyways, thanks for this ask anon! So excited to answer it.

Frey would be screaming left and right, laughing manically and literally becoming allergic to the keyboard upon any sort of MINIMAL scary sound/image. They're a scaredy cat, and they wouldn't even make it past the first night. They'd keep all the doors closed LMAO.

Pachypoda would finish the game in one sitting. They don't get scared easily and they might take the game too seriously at some point, hyper focused on winning. It doesn't help that they are a bit competitive. They'd come up with the best strategy in seconds, not even flinching at jumpscares.

Astro/a would be scared yes, but they'd be talking at miles per minute, trying to distract themselves into succeeding. They make it decently far, out of pure determination, but they'd fail over and over again due to the fear, making them act irrational. I think they'd get a bit upset over it, but eventually realise it's just a game and try again.

Secret LI1 would be very similar to Pachypoda, just less strategic and a bit more angry. They'd do very well, but not without little grunts of annoyance at the jumpscares (because they did startle a bit, embarrassed about that fact alone). After finishing the game, they wouldn't want to touch or talk about the game ever again.

Secret LI2 would not be able to finish the game. They'd also be scared, flinching and screaming at the jumpscares, and trying to do a good job with the game mechanics, but overall, they're just trying to have fun. So they'd lose themselves in laughter and even when dying over and over again, they'd continue playing if that's what they feel like doing. Not in hopes of trying again, just for more thrills!

Hero is a pro at the game. They know every trick of the book, and can shake off a jumpscare pretty quickly. Sometimes, they can expect them, and when they don't, they give a little startle and continue with lazer focus. They'd be good at the game, and want to introduce the game to everyone else.

The MC died, and the RO were devastated, yes, but what if they saw MC ghost lingering at their house to say goodbye to them before they go? Bonus Frey too in the AU when MC were the one who died, not Frey, they came back as ghost to bid farewell, apologize for leaving them behind and told them to take care of Hero.

What the helllllll???? STOP IT!!! Why are you doing this to the ROs, Frey and MC? 😭😭😭 They don't deserve it!

If that were to happen, Frey would most likely break down and beg you to stay. They don't want to go, they regret letting you go then, and they will put up a fight now so they don't commit the same mistake again. Momentarily, they lose the focus of a parent, they forget that they have a child to take care of, all that matters to them is pleading with you to not leave them again, they could not bare it anymore.

I don't think Pachypoda would be okay at all. I mean, from the previous asks, you know they would not take the loss of the MC in a healthy way, they are broken, and I don't think they will ever be whole again. Wishing one last goodbye as a ghostly form, would most likely drive Pachypoda insane. It would give them a small sliver of hope, of happiness, but then when you're gone again, they start talking to walls, thinking you're there.

Astro/a would not take it kindly, they even snap at you, not realising that they are so angry that they managed to get angry at you too, for leaving them. They'd probably yell at you, calling you a coward for leaving because they cannot be okay with their feelings. It will be hard to hear, and your last moments will be that, because when you are gone again, they will crumble to the ground and cry desperately.

I think the one who would take it best is Secret LI1, they were already quite solemn after they lost you, they'd probably expect you to return as a ghost too, that doesn't shock them. It would be healing for them, to tell you of the things they didn't get to when you were ripped away from them so suddenly. They'd remind you of the love they have for you, and promising you that they will never forget you.

Secret LI2 would simply stare at your ghostly form and be so severely disappointed. Not at you of course, but at the universe. It sort of felt like a cruel joke, when they were trying so desperately to move on from your loss, you come back to remind them that you no longer stand by their side. They would cry to you, apologizing, and with nothing else to say, they would have to take some days off to recover.

RO reactions to a normally stoic MC on the outside but is extremely clingy when no one is around.

Pachypoda: Would do the whole :0 -> :D pipeline of emotions. Given they are the RO that knows MC the most, this can be a familiar feeling to them, or perhaps if the MC changed so much from last time they saw each other and this isn't common, they might be surprised. They'd definitely welcome it! Hugging the MC back and giving as much touch as MC needs.

It's interesting to think about it because I don't think Pachypoda is touchstarved, or touchadverse. I think they're most likely in the middle, or maybe even a bit distant. But they wouldn't turn away from affection, they just might not realise they can engage in it first.

Astro/a: The more I think about Astro/a, the more I realise how full of life they are. They'd very much welcome it, and if they can, they might even try to push MC a little bit more, maybe to become that affectionate emotionally rather than physically too. Especially if MC is stoic and doesn't usually talk about feelings. Astro/a "feelings are important and should be communicated" Mu Leonis is always ready to invite softness into any interaction.

Considering this, they are definitely on the touchstarved spectrum. They crave attention and tenderness, and although they are rather eager to touch others, I think sometimes they prefer to be the ones on the receiving end.

Secret LI1: I think I've said this before but Secret LI1 can be similarly stoic but affectionate too. Although they are clingy, it is a very different type of clingy than most would assume. At first, I can see them being a bit confused by MC's change, but they learn and adapt quickly, and would accommodate best for the MC.

They are definitely someone who needs space. Although they like touch too, it needs to be at their pace. They are often the ones to initiate it.

Secret LI2: Be weirdly enamoured by the whole thing. Finds it endearing it to a point where they crave it every now and then. When MC is being grumpy in some way, they might even tease them playfully on how soft MC becomes due to them. They like it obviously.

Similarly to Pachypoda, they would be in the middle too. Not one to crave touch that much, but not one to shy away from it either. They're a happy medium, but sometimes you will see that they rely on touch to transmit a message or a feeling they cannot in words (and sometimes without even realising).

Since you said that heromaker used to take inspiration on dnd, what the ROs (+hero) races, classes, subclasses and alignments be? :o)

HI! SO GLAD THIS QUESTION WAS FINALLY ASKED!

The story was so different when it first started, so these answers have changed throughout its development. But thank you so much for asking 💞 (Keep in mind that I don't know that much about D&D, especially subclasses lol)

I know Frey is technically not a RO but Frey has actually had the most development in this department. They were going to be a WARLOCK! Which is crazy to think about now. I'm not going to tell you what race they were since that might delve into spoilers. And alignment is just chaotic good - truly I cannot see them being anything else.

Pachypoda is the one that has probably stayed the most true to the original. They're a druid, but like "dark" druid. I'm really terrible at explaining. They were also a Drow, which was my inspiration for the Nights race. Regarding alignment they're neutral good.

Astro/a is still this, but I was indecisive about them. Which is why in the story they are a ex-bard and ex-monk. Because that's the two classes I was indecisive about for them. Although I believe there is a bard monk class somewhere. Regarding race, they were going to be human. And as always alignment is chaotic neutral.

I can't go into much details for the Secret LIs cause I think that would mostly reveal who they are. So all I'll say is that Secret LI1 was going to be a really antagonist character in the original story, with lawful evil alignment (which I don't think suits them anymore). And Secret LI2 was never in the original plans, but I'd say they are true neutral.

Finally, Hero was originally a paladin of sorts, but considering there is so much that you can change for them now, any class would suit them. Race is also mildly spoilers, so I won't go into it, and alignment was originally chaotic neutral, which goes to show how much of a blank slate Hero was at the beginning of my planning.
