REPOST @jadeastral Such an honor as always to join my Horrorsisters. This month we will be sharing some our favorite Gay characters in horror.  The couple from Candyman is my selection for #horrorsisterspride Troy Cartwright (Nathan Stewart-Jarrett)  the  brother of Brianna and his partner Grady (Kyle Kaminsky).  Even though Troy and Grady were not the main characters, they were the ones to get the party started!!! I was excited to see such a solid gay couple depicted in a horror movie that actually survived. (Spoiler Alert). Troy was our original storyteller in CANDYMAN. I don't know bout y'all, but my gay friends always have the best stories. I be so ready for the ☕.  Troy provided the artist with the muse and motivation to recreate CANDYMAN. In my opinion Troy did not get the credit and recognition that he deserved. Many individuals in the LGBTQ+ community provide us with so much inspiration, fashion, and dope art and still do not get the recognition as they should. Troy and Grady stole my heart. For some of us the real horror of life is the grief that haunts us. My third choice for #horrorsistersfavoritesof2021 goes to Malignant, this was a rollercoaster of horror, action, trauma and then some. Believe me when I say James Wan conjured up a horror fans wet dream (see what I did there) 😉 I have found when I'm open to the unexpected that's when the rush of the thrill takes over. If you haven't seen this film yet, I'm not going to give away the reveal that had my jaw drop to the floor. If you know, you know. I need to stop here to give my horrorsister @lcfremont a S/O on her review @haddonfieldhorror observation on the Neo like moves of the killer. For my next offering "They had it coming" #Horrorsisters31daysofHalloween2021 we forge into my love horror t.v. with Dexter. Again so many characters to choose from; today I'm speaking on season 3 Dexter's friendship with Assistant District Attorney Miguel Prado. I had hope Dexter finally formed a partnership in kill-ship (see what I did there). Sadly a good thing comes to an end mostly due to Miguel being a manipulating narcissist. It quickly becomes which dark passenger can outsmart the other into falling into each other death trap.
