Hi itâs phantom Anon, and while Iâm sad I wonât get to see Wind possessing a phantom cause well circumstances. If he could though, what would his favorite phantom to possess be. Heck what about Spirit Zelda?
Hi Phantom Anon!
Iâm sorry Wind canât help out in the Tower of Spirits. When considering different options, this one just seemed to work best. Still, I wonât rule out the possibility of him possessing a phantom completely. There is a moment in the game in which Zelda possesses a Phantom without being in the Tower. Windâs involvement in this part isnât set yet, but I have definitely started thinking about it. That said, I wonât give a definite yes or no to anything involving that.
This is a really fun question, and Iâll do you one even better! Iâll give you each member of the trioâs favorite and least favorite type of phantom! (Spiritâs opinion is not based on possession, but rather based on his experience with having them as both an enemy and an ally.)
That said, weâll start with Spirit.
Spirit:
Spiritâs favorite is the Torch Phantom. Not only can they do everything a basic phantom can, but they have a little extra usefulness. Itâs easy to see them coming in the dark, and when Zelda possesses them, having that sword nearby to light up the dark areas and deal with those ghost enemies (The Nocturns) is very helpful. He hates the dark rooms, but Zelda by his side with that flaming sword makes it easier.
Spiritâs least favorite is definitely the Warp Phantom. Theyâre the hardest to stay away from at times, and even though you can get rid of their little Phantom Eyes, they respawn pretty quickly. Sure, when Zelda possesses them, itâs cool that she can warp around, but he feels the negatives far outweigh the positives with this one. He just hates dealing with them.
Wind:
Wind thinks trying new things is really fun, but his favorite to possess, if given the opportunity, would actually be the normal one. Heâs a very skilled fighter and adapter, so while trying out each type is really cool, he really doesnât feel like he needs the fancy gimmicks of the others. A good, solid sword and shield suit him just fine. Plus, these guys are everywhere in the Tower, meaning more opportunity to possess one. Heâd just be happy that heâs able to help out at all.
Windâs least favorite would be the Wrecker Phantom. Itâs a cool one in theory, for sure, but it seems like it would just get in the way at times which isnât ideal. Not only that, but the Wrecker Phantom has to sacrifice some abilities of the other phantoms. That said, he much prefers being able to use a weapon to just rolling over things. Also, Wind gets dizzy if you have him roll too much in Phantom Hourglass. I think being a Wrecker Phantom would make him feel the same way.
Given his personal experience with Phantoms during his time traversing the Ocean Kingâs temple, the Wrecker Phantoms are more of an unknown to him than the other kinds. He knows at least the basics of what to expect for the other ones, even if there are some differences. Plus, even the Torch Phantom, while not one he personally encountered before, is still similar enough to the normal one for him to have a decent idea on it.
Zelda:
Zeldaâs favorite to possess is the Warp Phantom, much to Spiritâs dismay. As far as sheâs concerned, this whole situation sucks, but she might as well get to try out a Phantomâs cool abilities. Warping is an odd experience for her, but she canât say she hates it. Plus, she doesnât have to sacrifice other abilities for it. If she comes across a mouse, maybe sheâll be able to control herself just long enough before she freezes in fear to warp away? At least, thatâs her hope. (Also, she likes the design of them.)
Her least favorite is the Normal Phantom for pretty much the same reason the Warp is her favorite. She enjoys trying out the different abilities, and the Normal Phantom is⌠normal. She doesnât hate it, but itâs pretty boring as far as the phantoms go. Plus, sheâs not a skilled fighter like Wind and Spirit are. She relies more heavily on helping through the abilities the different phantoms offer rather than through pure fighting ability.

Of course I do!! Kingdom Hearts is one of my favorite series of all time!! It has been for many years now! Honestly, Kingdom Hearts and The Legend of Zelda have always been my two favorite video game series ever.
Actually, I posted art of Sora for a previous KH anniversary a few years ago. Youâd have to scroll back through the tags though to find it.
Thank you!! I would definitely like to do more KH content, and of course Iâm still working on stuff for the Windâs Track AU. I hope you look forward to it!

Has there ever been a time where Wind's sounded like an old man and Spirit joked about it? Or he wouldn't let a particular phrase go?
Like how you hear a lot of grandparents go "back in my dayâŚ"
This is a really fun question omg.
I like to think that Wind isnât really the type to use the phrase âback in my dayâ. He will definitely tell stories of his past experiences, but he doesnât really use them to compare. When he does compare experiences, itâs more of a passing thought than anything else.
Honestly, Spirit and Wind both forget sometimes that Wind is actually an adult with the appearance of a child. Wind doesnât think about it too much. Heâs too busy soaking up whatever moment heâs in.
There are probably times where Wind might say something or understand something in more of a mature way than a 12(ish) year old would, but, again, he just considers it part of his perspective built on his past experiences.
Wind never really loses his childlike personality and wonder. While he can definitely be serious and focused, especially when it comes to protecting others, heâs a child at heart.
He might have moments where heâs like âOh my gosh. Thatâs so cool. Iâve never seen anything like that before. Youâd never see this on the Great Sea,â but he certainly would not be the uppity type to go âyou kids are so lucky now.â Yâknow?
Plus, given his experience with adventures, heâs very used to adapting to new things pretty quickly and without much fuss.
He does wonder how the post man gets around so fast without wings like the Rito. He swears he has never seen them even so much as step on a train station platform.
All that said, Wind is definitely the type to use way too much sailor lingo, and Spirit definitely teases him about that.
Thankfully, however, since Spirit has been raised by two retired pirates his whole life, he learns the meanings early on. (Heâs still gonna tease them regardless.)
By the time the events of Spirit Tracks start, he knows them all without even having to stop to think. Itâs as second nature to him as if he were a pirate himself. Poor Zelda, however, doesnât know any of them. Whenever the brothers start using them, she gets hopelessly lost.

(btw, you can delete, just wanted to let you know how much I loved it anonymously)
Thank you Clockwork Anon!!! Iâm so glad you like the comic! (I know you said I didnât have to respond, but I still wanted to thank you for the kind words.)
I always get nervous about posting comics and art, so Iâm very relieved at the positive responses that the new comic has received lol. Same goes for the previous stuff Iâve posted for this AU.
I truly love hearing from yâall. Any ask, tag, fan work, etc that I receive from you guys is so appreciated. I can not even begin to express how grateful I am for you all and for everything you all take the time to share with me.

Spirit opens the door with a slam.
Spirit: WIND!!
Wind: Hey, Spirit. Whatâs the rush. (I told you not to slam doors.)
Spirit: Niko showed me this old pictobox he had! He said it âbelonged to an old friend,â but got all weird when I asked about âem. (Grownups are weird.)
Anyway, he said I could have it âcause it was âjust collectinâ dustâ and âneeded a good home.â (Oh hang on. Let me put my hat away.)
Wind recognizes the pictobox. Itâs his.
Spirit: Iâm still figuring out how it works⌠Oh, hey! There are some old pictures on here, and- âŚandâŚ

Wind sighs.
Wind: Youâre real smart, Specks. Yâknow that?
I got that pictobox during my first adventure.
Spirit: Really?
Wind: Yeah. You can look through it. I donât mind.
Spirit: Oh, hey! Itâs you and Niko!
Wind: Haha! Yeah! I remember that day! Niko went around getting pictures with the whole crew. (He chased Tetra around the whole ship!)
Spirit: What about this one?
