I chose these images by Daisuke Yokota because I love the way he captures the seemingly monotonous in an interesting and mysterious way. His photos are mostly done in black and white and his landscapes are creepy with lots of dark, seemingly never ending halls and spaces due to the intense black point in the photos. Daisuke also captures the human body and form in his photos is very interesting as he explores every detail of hands, feet and every fold of skin. Despite these shots being very close up and detail orientated we can really get a sense of feeling from the bodies and its a very intimate scene for both the bodies and us as we see limbs tangled together and turned in awkward ways.
His photos are taken originally with a digital camera but are then rephotographed with a film camera so he can process the films and have more control over the end product by singeing photos with leaked light on the negatives. This gives it the old, manual feel and creates texture in the image you would not be able to get with just plain old digital image.
