TIME TO VOTE!
For Your Top-10 Favorite
SF Websites of All-Time!
Ballots accepted throughout the balance of November and into December with a "polls closing" advisory before Christmastime approaches. Compiling will begin and announcement of the Top-10 by January 1, 2024! If there is robust participation (voting), we will expand the list to a Top-25.
No, Char Elizabeth, Baby.Bloodlust (Eliza Salvatore), here, was never captured by a website specializing in the Smoking Fetish. But she is gorgeous and these SF websites have been bringing us all content of this caliber or thereabouts -- by video and photo and GIF -- since the mid- to late-1990s. It is time to pay homage to them, regardless whether they are still active today or closed up shop more than 10 years ago!
OUR GUIDELINES
As articulated in our initial posting/advisory/notification on July 11 (modified on November 10, 2023):
Voting by web-masters/web producers/authors from tumblr; webpage owners from YouTube; and significant, well-established contributors/uploaders/authors from Smoking Fetish Kingdom. Own (oversee) a tumblr SF-content webpage and you can vote; we’d encourage it. Please do consider participating. This is for you all!
Weighted voting from our brand: One vote each from vs120shound, lostlighter23, vs120shound-2 and lostlighter23-darkside
Ballot (informal; voter will type it up and list vertically or horizontally, whichever) will have voters list 10 outstanding SF websites to receive votes (don't ask for the criteria we are seeking; completely subjective; vote for the site with the sexiest SF models or best smoking; or the most posts of videos/photographs/GIFs; or anything your little SF heart desires). Votes to be valued at one point for a 10th-place vote, two points for a ninth-place vote … increasing by a point until the No. 1 vote earns 10 points for the tallying up.

Believe Chat is not activated for communication between 2 folks on tumblr unless each is “following” the other, or one is “following” the other but not necessarily both of them connected to each other. Still not sure.

newcrest counseling center
grant arrives promptly as always for his biweekly therapy session with margot campalans but when he checks in with the receptionist, she lets him know margot will be a few minutes late. something about mistakenly locking herself out of her car while picking up coffee. he’s allowed into the room early to wait–margot’s instructions, apparently–and is left to his own devices. so he sits there in the lavender-scented room alone, pondering on all the thoughts swirling in his head and deciding which ones to bring up in today’s session.
when thinking begins to stress him out, he fishes out his phone and scrolls through his notifications idly. he makes it to the end and once again, the now ancient email from his master’s advisor waits for a reply or any hint of care in the world. he sees it and immediately, a cold sweat breaks out across his forehead.
without a second though, grant opens up a safari tab and navigates to his university’s website. it takes a few moments to load, then a few longer when he tries to log in, anxiously mistyping his password multiple times. nothing about the website is well-designed but he manages to find his enrollment status soon enough and he submits a request to drop out.
the very moment it goes through, grant sighs in deep, instant relief.
it was a mistake to apply, no matter how convinced of it he’d been a few months ago.
grad school isn’t him. no, it’s not. all he wants is–
“hello grant! i am so sorry. today’s lesson for everyone is to always check on your car keys!”
margot dashes into the room with a half-empty iced coffee, announced by the jingle of car keys, sharp high heel clicks on the hardwood floor, and a bit of breathlessness.
“been there done that. but don’t worry about it, it’s no problem! you’re not that late anyway. i hope you weren’t locked out for very long.”
“oh no, not very long!” she says and shakes her head, pausing to throw her purse behind her desk and then to take a seat across from him in her pink chair. “there was a very nice young man leaving the coffee shop who saw that i looked, well, panicked. he said he worked at the photography studio next door and was on break, so he offered to help me. as it turns out, some types of car locks can be undone with a shoe lace. my question is how do you learn that skill.”
grant’s jaw drops. “wait, wait, a guy who can unlock a car with a shoe lace and works at a photography studio? there is a 99.99% chance i know him. no, actually, i definitely know him because that’s a very specific set of traits.”
“he said his name was henry.”
“knew it.” grant suddenly laughs. “yeah, no, so he’s my childhood best friend. we grew up together and we’re basically family. small world, eh? anyway, i know how he knows about that trick because i also know. it’s a long story, though.”

1. Are you named after anyone? Yes and no. Even though I’ve been Karisa my entire life, that’s not my legal name because I was originally called something else but it cost an arm and a leg to have it changed so my parents never did it. Karisa isn’t for anyone, but my legal name is.
2. When was the last time you cried? Even though I cry literally all the time I honestly can’t remember lol. Sometime last week or two weeks ago I suppose? I just got back from a trip so I’ve been too busy to be crying about anything, unless I did in the temple the other day and already forgot :P
3. Do you have kids? No, but I definitely want to. Just have to find a guy who’ll marry me first.
4. Do you use sarcasm a lot? Big time. It varies depending on who I’m talking to though.
5. What’s the first thing you notice about people? Hair, I guess? Eyes and smile are a big one as well.

Unit 2: Teaching Learners
When thinking about my ideal role as an interpreter, I was reminded of Freeman Tilden’s ideas of interpretation, as described in the textbook. The most fundamental ingredient for an interpreter to have, according to Tilden, is love for the place and love for the visitors. With that in mind, I began to think about the places I already know and love when envisioning the place of my ideal role. Immediately, my choice came to mind: The Guild Inn, in Scarborough Ontario.
The Guild Inn is best described as a menagerie of history, culture, nature, art, and community. Though their website is largely aimed at advertising it as a wedding venue (it is much more than that!) feel free to take a look here.
I grew up very close to the Guild Inn. Take my high school experience as context; the statues scattered throughout the park were not only the subject of photographs for my grade 11 photography class, but also the seats of students during lunch hour! Throughout my childhood, my family and I attended markets and showcases that employed this site as a venue, and took walks down the wooded area towards the rocky Lake Ontario entry point. I’ve included photos below to bring colour to my story.
I would pick this location to interpret because I care about it, and already have a good foundation on its history. Even now, I can think of a few fun facts I would use to get certain audiences engaged…for example, did you know Drake filmed a music video here?😊
Regarding what my interpretive program would entail, I imagine I would take visitors through the different parts of the area (statues, buildings, forest, lake), detailing the history as we go. Though, interpretive programs should not just be a regurgitation of information. They must also include activities, strategic silence, purposeful selection of locations, encouragement of provocation, and development of a theme that underlies the entire program.
I would be sure incorporate a variety of activities that are engaging for different types of learners. For example, I may have a kinesthetic activity that is most appropriate for kinesthetic learners, but a healthy challenge for auditory learners. In an activity that follows, perhaps it would be most appropriate for auditory learners, but a healthy challenge for kinesthetic learners. What is best for me may not be best for others, and what is best for one visitor in the group may not be best for the rest – what matters is that there is something for everyone, and that if comfort zones are pushed, it is gentle, intentional, respectful, and mindful.
Another important skill I would like to possess is adaptability. Rather than following a strict script, I would get to know the visitors as we move along and accommodate their intentions. As the constructivist approach tells us, each visitor brings unique constructs of knowledge and values to a program, and new information gets incorporated into these like flies into a spider’s web. It would be my goal to sense visitors’ constructs, and deliver my program in a way that is meaningful to each individual.
And through that, I would then not only have love for the place, but grow love for the visitors as well.

why is the twitter art community so insane literally the worst parts of deviantart and the worst parts of twitter combining i think like alfkakkd every few weeks i swear people have like art advice discourse and people scream at each other about the best way to improve at art and for whiney beginner artists to stop harrassing their replies and that if they want to get better they should just practice and also obviously people get very angry at people who have never claimed to be art teachers offering simple advice like practice because theyre sorta at a loss idk its just deranged and i cannot look away i know i should stop being on twitter evil website but its enthralling sometimes but its really so depressing the way the gatekeepy and insane dont steal my secrets just grind at art mindset of deviantart has survived with none of the incredible tutorials and knowledge sharing that also somehow managed to coexist alongside that weird closed community and hmm the lack of like spaces for total beginner artists to easily share stuff in a way that puts them on equal footing with all other artists like that was something nice about deviantart all those groups that accepted pretty much all art and so u could have beautiful fully rendered complex art right next to like some 11 year olds lovingly sketched out colored pencil doodle and like its so distressing in general i guess the entire like never stop the grind always improve mindset being seen as normal and not idk if beginners truly want advice good lord just like find things ur passionate about art should be fun its so insane why is art not seemingly fun for people in these places i guess its the ever growing encroachment of trying to professionalize and everyone hoping the internet will be the gateway to great jobs in art when most of the time thats like an illusion and its also just so crazy cuz i dont even feel like its that hard to give like mediocre art advice that just u know creates a more positive community instead of just being like practice train fight whatever thats it idk remind people to draw things theyre passionate about and that genuinely enjoying what ur doing matters not just pushing towards a skill that will make you totally fucking miserable and idk most people posting art online or taking small commissions arent gonna be incredible professional quality artists but thats literally ok and can be a wonderful good thing to just have a closely held enjoyable thing and like idk u gotta learn to see art is literally not simply about motor skills thats whats also so crazy to me is people seem to focus on improving like the motor skills of physically drawing and not like composition and learning your own taste and discovering what artists you like and admire and study what makes their stuff work things that can be done when ur in an art block mode u know i gotta know how to see like understanding colors and how to frame things and composition are all things that u can like learn to see and grow ur skills by simply seeing and knowing with purpose and implementing that like theres so many levels you can be technically skilled and not put an image together nicely idk so many things that can also u know translate to photography fashion food daily life like whatever this is a total tangent and lord knows my composition sucks but alskkska theres such an aggressive anti copying mentality i think also people dont understand how to use references or how to grab from a lot of different inspiration idk whatever i love to bitch!!

A Sausalito Artist balances his many talents “Between Fire & Ice.”
The Sausalito Center for The Arts (SCA) is delighted to present its next exhibit by two Sausalito luminaries. They are: Chris Felver's "Whole Shebang" and Douglas Sandberg's "Between Fire and Ice.“
Speaking about the upcoming exhibit on March 20 Sandberg took some time to reflect. “It’s an honor to have been invited to participate in this exhibit alongside Chris,” he said. Noting how expensive Felver’s work is, Sandberg added, “it’s something that is long overdue, Ian happy to see Chris in the spotlight.”
Yet regarding his life and work, Sandberg said, “the mantra I want to embrace for the exhibit is ‘Things are heating up, so it’s best to stay cool.’ Art, photography and filmmaking have always been prominent in my life,” said Sandberg.
He remembers vividly an afternoon at the beach in Pt Reyes when, “My father told me about a subject that would change the trajectory of my life right then and there at eight years old.” “It would change my life forever,” he exclaimed.
“My father said that creativity is a very important human endeavor,” said Sandberg.
And Sandberg went on to share that his father was going to his boss and ask for funding on a film entitled ‘Why Man Creates.’
“A year and a half later, said Sandberg, my father brought home an OSCAR.”
“And, that experience, said Sandberg, set me off on a career path of creative pursuits.”
Sandberg’s life has been contributing photography and video to design firms, start-ups, galleries, museums and auction houses since 1979. During that time he has been a champion of unique and innovative art, such as the work of Christo and Jeanne-Claude.
Enamored of such art, since the mid-1970s, when the Running Fence Project by Christo was installed in Marin and Sonoma, Sandberg has continued to push himself artistically and creatively.
An alum of the California College of Arts and Crafts, Sandberg received a degree in Film Arts, with distinction. In addition to working with filmmakers, he enjoys putting together “big art” books, among Sandberg’s various endeavors.
“Douglas has always painted,” said Helen Frierson. She is an author and former executive administrator for the Office of the President at California College of the Arts. Frierson is pleased that Sandberg will be part of the exhibit. As she said.
“His art challenges us to think about contemporary issues,” she continued. “It’s compelling- even ‘urgent-in your face,’ Frierson exclaimed. “You can’t avoid being enveloped in the sensuous painterly quality of Douglas’ brushstrokes,” she said. “Even his smaller works possess a grand scale,” said Frierson.
From his very first jobs directing the photography output for the catalogs of Butterfield & Butterfield, Sandberg understands the power photography has as not only in documenting but in photography’s ability to evoke memories and deep emotions. This understanding and skill he brings to every aspect of his work in a career that spans over 40 years.
“Douglas Sandberg’s work is inventive all the time,” said Bob Green of Robert Green Fine Art in Mill Valley.
“Douglas’s work shows little preconception,” Green said. “He exhibits the essence of raw emotion and feeling in everything he does” explained Green. Also pleased that an exhibit will feature his work, Green is Douglas Sandberg’s current art dealer.
