Yo! I saw your post about difficulty hearing in airports and hate dealing with security due to it and I just wanted to mention same!!! I do have hearing aids but even then noisy places are my worst nightmare and I always try to go with someone I trust for that reason it sucks man

airport security in the US is an accessibility nightmare and it’s just. not necessary. there is no good reason for glorified mall security to blunder through my stuff because i have insulin needles. there is no good reason for them to make me wait after they pulled me aside because the x-ray machine would have destroyed my extremely expensive insulin pump. it’s fucking ridiculous that such blatant ableism is allowed on such a large scale

and like. not being able to hear TSA officers is a guaranteed ticket to them delaying you forever, bc they love to pretend you’re purposefully ignoring them or planning Some Devious Plot. like you’re already overwhelmed, you’re not so much jumping through hoops as performing gymnastics, and now some dumbass is getting angry with you because they can’t understand that you cannot fucking hear them
