I feel like all you'll ever need to know about me as a person is how I put off watching the final episodes of Shadowhunters for literally as long as I possibly could because after the one year hiatus I was reasonably detached from the characters and I just knew that getting into the show again too soon knowing that it got cancelled would break my heart into pieces once it ended soooo basically I've finally started 3B and I only have the final episode left now so guess who's crying like a lil bitch baby because her smart plan of not being attached to the characters anymore DID NOT WORK OUT AT ALL and your favourite TV show ending HURTS man

#i feel like this says several things about me #one being that i'm a gigantic drama queen who gets far too attached to tv shows #but man...shadowhunters was the first tv show i ever really became a fan of as in like #i didn't just watch it casually but actually got invested and joined the fandom #in what was a really shit time in my life #and it hurts man it wasn't supposed to end yet #and god i really don't know how i'll manage the final episode #i know malec are getting married i know they'll be playing 'i get to love you' #which - the thought already makes me sob #and i know we're getting a jimon training scene which - no i did not forget about my otp #simon was also the one who ruined my plan lmao i was over her like 'okay i can watch it now i just won't get attached anymore' #and in the literal first episode i was just sat here like 'good god i love simon lewis. so much. how could i ever have forgotten' fjkskf #anyway shadowhunters was once my number one favourite tv show and it will always have a special place in my heart ❣ #i will cry SO MUCH #i'm just sat here listening to the songs from 3x20/21 and being on the verge of tears lmao #i guess this post is also for everyone wondering why i just stopped posting about and making edits for the show #sorry i'm unstable fjjdkd #debbie rambles

Do you think they're rushing Malec and will shove them into the background. Already they've had their I love you and Sizzy and Clace haven't even gotten started and if there's a season 3 they'll probably focus it and 2B on those couples and shove Malec into the back and just show them being loved up occasionally and when they're needed.

Since this is like a multi layered question let's start with the first part, which is are they rushed? And to that I say no. I think things are progressing fast, yes, but that feels in character for both of them. Like Alec does nothing halfway. Ever. Once he decides on something that's it, he's in it. We saw it with his whole getting married to Lydia thing last season. And you can see it now in his relationship with Magnus. Even their first time- ignoring how problematic it was for other reasons- was like Alec jumping right in. It's how he is. And you can't tell me Magnus isn't a hopeless romantic. Yes, he'd closed himself off. But clearly once he lets someone in they're in. So I don't think they're rushed.

As for the other ships? Well, right now Clace and Sizzy aren't even a thing. Especially Sizzy. I think we'll be dealing with Climon for a bit longer before those two really come to play. Clace sooner than Sizzy.

Now as far as whether they'll push Malec to the back? They're stupid if they do. And I don't think they're that stupid. There's a reason they advertised so hard with Malec. They know how popular it is. And they've seen how loud we get when they do poorly by our ship. I don't see them pushing it to the background. And there's plenty of drama they can and will ring from them. Especially considering 2b is going to deal with the shadowhunter vs downworlder fallout from the winter finale. So I guess my hope is they won't do that to malec, just put them on the back burner. And I don't think they will. But. They've fucked up before, so I leave room for doubt.
